1.2 Version History

- 0.5a (22/10/05) FAQ started. Still some missing characters but more 
or less totally complete.

- 0.5b (27/10/05) Minor corrections made to the FAQ.

1.3 Introduction
----------------

This is just a basic list of all the characters Evolution Z stats in the 
recently released Dragonball Z Tenkaichi.

Each profile has all the specific stats for every transformation.

Hope you find this useful. :)

1.4 Explaining the stats
------------------------

Despite the fact that most of these statistics are self explanatory, 
there's no harm in going into a bit of detail for the more obscure ones 
is there? ;)

The character stats are as follows:
-----------------------------------

Starting Health - This is the amount of health or hit points this character 
has at their base level. The more health the character has, the more damage 
they can sustain during battle before becoming knocked out. This is related 
to the "Health" character stat and increases with it.

Starting Ki - This is the amount of ki or energy this character has at their 
base level. The more ki the character has, the more ki based attacks and 
moves they can perform before having to recharge by powering up. Again this 
is related to the "Ki" character stat and can be increased with Z items.


Health - This is the stat that represents health. Increase it to affect 
your base health level.

Ki - Again this represents ki. Increase it to affect your base ki level.

Attack - This affects how much damage your physical attacks do to your 
opponent. Increase this to make your physical combos and strikes stronger.

Defense - This alters how much damage you take from all attacks. 
Increase this to improve your resistance to physical and ki based attacks.

Speed - This affects how quickly your character can move, dodge or react 
in battle. Increasing this makes your faster in almost all respects.

Favourite Technique - This stat affects how effective your character 
specific "Favourite" moves are. Increasing those moves will make them 
better at what they are supposed to do. For example, for a favourite move 
that increases your stats in battle for a limited time, increasing this 
stat should make the stat increases greater and more beneficial.

Finishing Move - This stat determines how strong your two Finishing Move 
attacks are. Increasing this will make them more deadly.

Super Finishing Move - Again, this stat determines how powerful your 
only and character specific Super Finishing Move is. Increasing this 
will make this move do incredible damage to your opponent.

3.1 FAQ
-------

Q: Does this game have in-game transformations?

A: No, apart from Goku's Kaioken.


Q: Are there alternative costumes?

A: No, but some characters are covered more than once - for example Gohan 
   and The Great Saiyaman, Trunks with sword and Trunks with saiyan 
   armour etc.

   However if both players have chosen the same character the second 
   player (2P) will be wearing an alternative. This is the only known way 
   to play with a different costume.


Q: What do the dragonballs do?

A: Once you collect all seven you can wish for 5 secret characters, a locked 
   Z battle gate entitled "The Real World Martial Arts Tournament" or the 
   access to the password system that is also present in Dragonball Z 
   Budokai 3.

   The Dragonballs can be found inside destroyed buildings in Z battle 
   gate mode in the various levels. A good example of this is the fight 
   between Krillin andYamcha during the Saiyan saga as there is always a 
   dragonball under the buildingin Kami's lookout. Keep going back to this 
   level to collect all seven, allowing you to make one of the seven wishes. 
   Rinse and repeat. :)


Q: Are the characters balanced?

A: Pretty much. While some of the stats representations of the characters are
   accurate (Hercule's come to mind in particular) most of them are pretty 
   random and it should be possible for any character to beat another, albeit 
   with diffculty, if no Z items are added and the characters are played 
   "as is".


Q: Are all the characters unique?

A: Not really. They do have character specific ultimates, combos and stances 
   but that's about it. I think Spike were going for a pick-up-and-play 
   approach and didn't want the player hindered with a lot of depth and a 
   steep learning curve.


Q: Is this game better than Budokai 3?

A: I wouldn't say better but it certainly has a closer feel to the 
   show or manga.

Hey there, just your typical Scottish student. Decided it's about high time 
I wrote a FAQ for a game of some sort as it's certainly a significant part 
of my life.
