For PS2

Version 0.8 - November 28, 2007

for public use and nobody should make money out of it (unless you
want to pay me for it). This guide is written for Gamefaqs, but if
other websites are interested in hosting it as well, just email me
and I'll gladly approve it.

====================================================================

A few words: This is my first attempt at writing faq, so it's not
going to be the best faq you'll ever seen. Probably this will be the
only faq I'll write. The reason I do it in the first place because
there are not many guides that come out on this game and I know that
there are a lot of people are struggling to finish this game. The
other reason is that the game does not have any map in it. The enemy
encounter is quite frequent and the save point is quite far apart,
which could be frustrating for some gamers. So I'm attempting the
"mapped" version on the walkthrough. Hope the guide can helps.
Credits also given to those people that wrote on the message Board,
especially Vangui. This guide is incomplete without all of you.

====================================================================

A) Tips & FAQ:

====================================================================
1. About Digivolution (evol) -
------------------------------
- How it works - The way the digivolution system work in this game
is that after fulfilling certain requirements (check your evolution
chart), your digimon can digivolve into a new/stronger digimon.

- How to digivolve - The digivolution can only happen during the
battle. A new command called "Digisoul Charge" will appear after all
the requirements are fulfilled, so you just have to select that
command.

- Why digivolve - It is recommended to select this whenever it is
available as sometimes you can digivolve into many new digimons
consecutively (like a chain reaction) and gain stronger version of
the digimon after all the requirements for those digimon were
already met (normally in terms of stats such as strength, agility,
etc). For example, my Lalamon digivolve more than 10 times in a row
without even noticing that I've met many requirements
simultaneously). Another thing to note is that your health is also
automatically replenished.

- Why digivolve earlier - It is also important to digivolve as
quickly as possible in order to get the Mega digimon that you want
as the emotion requirement such as "very good friend with tamer" is
much harder to fulfill the longer you played the game. In my case,
even after reaching the last area and using all my money to buy
friendship drink (around 8-10 drinks), I still cannot digivolve my
Machgaogamon to Miragegaogamon because of the bad relationship I had
with my Gaomon although I've already fulfilled the other
requirements long time ago. So hope you will not do the same
mistake. So always make sure that you always select the command your
digimon wants to use the most if you want to maintain a very good
relationship with your digimon. You can also last longer in the game
with stronger evolved form although at a low level.

- Non-suitable time to digivolve - There is also a case where your
digimon will digivolve into weaker digimon, so always keep track of
your digimon evolution chart so that it will not happen during a
boss fight.

- Note on Marcus's agumon digivolution - Another important note is
that for Marcus, he will attack the enemy first before digivolving
his Agumon. So better make sure you find a higher level enemy that
can withstand his attack to complete the digivolution as the
evolution will not happen if the enemy died first from his attack.

- What to do with the digivolved form - After you have all the new
evolution, you can choose which form of evolution you want to use
during the battle by selecting it in the evolution map.

- Time to use weaker form - There are times that you want to use the
weaker form of your digimon. For example reduce 2 of your digimon to
the version with low agility in order to make the one you want to
level up get his turn quicker; or to fulfill the requirement of
receiving certain amount of damage (50,000 damage for some megas
digivolution requirement).

====================================================================
2. Fighting/winning strategy ((figh)
------------------------------------
Same as other strategy game, there is always a standard method of
winning a fight even at low level. The one that I use for this game
normally consists of finding out the enemy's weakness, increasing
your defense, increase your attack power and attack the weakness. In
this game, normally I can defeat a boss at low level just with a
single attack after a couple of turns using the same strategy. Based
on the digimon that I normally use, which is Miragegaogamon
(Gaomon's Mega), Shinegreymon (Agumon's mega), Rosemon (Lalamon's
mega), the command/item that I normally use especially against
bosses(not in particular order) are:

a) G Agility Up (Increase agility) - Your digimon will have his turn
quicker. Useful for digimon with low agility. Normally I use my
Miragegaogamon to cast it on Rosemon or Shinegreymon first, and
lastly on himself since he is the quickest and the other 2 is much
slower than him. Most bosses have high agility, which means that
they can kill you without having the chance to cast any spell.
That's why for me this is quite important.

b) Resist Mega/Ultimate/Champion -Increase defense. Useful against
bosses and Mega digimon that deals huge/lethal damage. Normally I
use my Rosemon to cast it on herself or Miragegaogamon first, and
lastly on Shinegreymon who got the highest defense.

c) Search weakness - Display the enemy's weakness.
Normally I use Miragegaogamon's command or using Rosemon to use the
item Search Weakness, whichever necessary.

d) Field Enchant eg. Use VB Enchant when fighting against NSo after
finding out the weakness - Increase your digimon's attack damage
based on the enemy's race/weakness. Normally I use the command on my
strongest attacker, which is Shinegreymon, or the one that you want
to deliver the finishing blow.

e) Attack weakness - Enchant this on your attacker, and the attack
damage will double based. But make sure you have cast the right
field enchant first. Normally I use it on my Shinegreymon after
casting the Field Enchant.

f) Attack x 2 - Cast on your attacker to double your attack power.

g) Rank Drive command eg. Mega drive - Increase attack based on your
digimon's rank. Cast on your attacker to increase damage. Normally I
use it on my Shinegreymon to boost damage. After casting Field
Enchant, Attack Weakness, Attack x 2 and Rank drive, this could
increase your attack power up to 4-6 times and most of the time
kills the boss with just a single attack. Coupled with Field Drive
and Critical Up, your attacker can definitely deliver lethal damage.

h) Critical up (optional) - cast on your attacker to increase chance
of inflicting critical attack

i) Field Drive eg. DR Drive (optional) - Further increase your
attacker's attack power based on your digimon's race/type

j) Double attack (optional) - cast on your attacker so that he'll
attack twice consecutively

k) Invisible (optional) - With this item, the enemy will not attack
you for a few rounds. Useful especially during bosses fights. You
can cast it on your healer/supporter or your main attacker. If you
cast it on your healer, then he can revive the others who died and
if you cast it on your attacker than the fight could have a higher
rate of success. However, the cons of this item is that the enemy
will not attack you, which means that it'll be tougher for you to
get the higher level Mega digivolution that have the specific
requirement of receiving a certain amount of damage (for example,
one of the requirement for Lalamon to digivolve to Lucemon is to
receive 50,000 damage, which is a lot). At higher level it'll be
tougher for you to receive large damage, so that's why in the end I
just use this item once while fighting Darkdramon with my digimon at
level 31. I just cast it on my Lalamon (with a Rosemon mega
digivolution) and let my Agumon (with a Shinegreymon mega
digivolution) do the attacking, and it makes the fight much easier
even at low level.

l) Field resist eg. NSO Resist - cast it on your digimon if you
think that they cannot handle the damage deal by the enemy.
Personally I don't use this one because I want the enemy to deal
huge damage in order to fulfill the receiving damage requirement.

m) Heal/Revive command or item - Whenever necessary

====================================================================
3. Useful map items (item)
---------------------------
a) Low encounter - Useful if you are the type who prefer less
fighting. Also extremely useful in annoying or large places with a
few save points, for example the Sea Precipice Jerapilus.

b) No encounter - Buy it from Chuumon at area 10, Ice Labyrinth. The
item is also available at the headquarter after you have met
Chuumon.

c) Friend/Affection drink - Increase relationship with your digimon.
Useful for your digivolution requirement. However it is quite
expensive and you might have to spend your whole money to buy it if
you have a bad relationship with your digimon, like I did. Buy it
from Chuumon in Ice Labyrinth. But it is only available after you
keep on spending money at his shop.

d) Return key - if you are in a hurry to save the game and do
something else; and cannot find a save point, just use this item to
return to DATS. Also for those who are lazy to walk all the way back
to the starting point, especially for large places.

====================================================================
4. About the selection of command that appear on the screen (sele)
------------------------------------------------------------------
A thing to note is that, the number and the type of command on
display also depends on the Digimon's emotion (eg. tense, strong,
caring, anger). So it is important for you to alter its emotion to
get the right command that you need during battles. This can be done
by selecting support command (eg. Push, Look Around, Tighten)until
you get the desired command. Normally a tense character will have a
majority of attack command, a caring character with majority of
guard command, and strong character with a balance set of command.
Sometimes, really tense character can also display really powerful
attack, for example Geogreysword for Shinegreymon.

====================================================================
5. How to switch command and increase the number of command that
appear on the screen while maintaining good relationship with your
digimon (swit)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to maintain good relationship with your digimon, you have
to select the command that the digimon wants to use the most, which
is equivalent to how many times those command appear on your screen.
If you want to switch from attack command to guard command, you have
to make sure that more guard command appear on the screen first in
order to maintain the good relationship. This can be done by using
support command like cheer up, tighten, push, look around, etc. So
you just have to play around with support command in order to get
the right set of command for you. For example, for Lalamon, normally
I will increase its sympathy (Look around/Look closely) to increase
the number of its guard command (yellow coloured)or increase its
tension (Tighten) to increase the number of its attack command (red
coloured). The same strategy also work with Agumon and Gaomon
sometimes.

====================================================================
6. Fulfilling digivolution requirement (fulf)

====================================================================

6a. Fulfilling dealing damage requirement (deal)
------------------------------------------------

An example of this digivolution requirement is for Agumon to deal
1000 damage in a single attack in order to digivolve to Risegreymon.
If you want to inflict huge damage on enemy in a single attack and
fulfil the requirement, you can follow these steps:
1. Make sure you are at high level and strong form of digivolution
and then go find weak enemy (in area 1, Walter Island or area 2,
Sneyato Forest)
2. Cast Agility Up on your attacker if you have to.
3. Cast Search Weakness on the enemy to find its weakness (you can
skip this if you already know its weakness)
4. Cast field enhant (eg. VB enchant)on your digimon based on
enemy's weakness
5. Cast Attack Weakness
6. Cast rank drive based on your digimon's level (eg. Mega Drive)
7. Cast field drive based on your digimon's type (eg. DR Drive),
8. Cast Attack x2
9. Cast Critical Up
This should deal very huge damage especially if it is a critical
attack.

====================================================================
6b. Fulfilling receiving damage requirement (rece)
--------------------------------------------------
An example of this requirement is for Lalamon to receive a total of
50,000 damage throughout the game in order to digivolve to Lucemon.
As the game progress, your character will become stronger and
normally receive less damage, especially at higher level with strong
forms of digivolution. That is why this requirement can be quite
annoying sometimes, especially at a later stage. There are a few
ways to do this:
1. Earlier in the game, when you are at low level and still in the
weak form like a Rookie or Champion, just prolong the fight and let
your enemy kick your ass for a couple of turn. The effect is even
better if you are fighting a boss.
2. When you are fighting bosses or Mega level digimon, besides
prolonging the fight, you can also lower down your agiliy in order
for the enemy to attack more frequently. Just be careful no to die
or it will be game over.
3. If you are already at a high level, just switch to a Rookie or
Champion form to lower your stats. You can also use items that
decrease your defense.
4. If you want your enemy just to attack a single digimon, just use
the Provoke command or Consent item.

====================================================================
6c. Fulfilling the defeating digimon requirement (kill)
-------------------------------------------------------
The requirement is normally specific to the digimon, not on the
team. For example, if the digivolve requirement for Agumon is to
defeat 5 VB digimon or 5 ultimate, if he kills a VB or an ultimate
by delivering the finishing blow, then its already count as one
digimon down. But if Gaomon who is in the team that delivered the
finishing blow, then it count as one digimon defeated by Gaomon, not
by Agumon or the whole team. The exception for the requirement is
only when you are required to defeat the optional bosses. For
example, for Lalamon to digivolve to Minervamon, the requirement is
to defeat Minervamon. So even if anyone else besides Lalamon
delivered the finishing blow, the requirement for Lalamon is still
fulfilled.

===================================================================
6d. Fulfilling defeating Mega's requirement (mega)
--------------------------------------------------
An example of this requirement is to defeat 40 Mega digimon in order
to digivolve from Agumon to Omnimon. Megas are quite rare in the
game and that is why this requirement can be quite annoying to some
players (like me). So you have to plan properly which digimon that
you want to digivolve to Mega first earlier in the game if you are a
lazy type of gamer.

My recommendation is either one of these:
- Gaomon (Defeat 5 Megas to get Miragegaogamon)
- Falcomon (Defeat 3 Megas to get Ravemon)
- Biyomon (Defeat 5 Megas to get Phoenixmon)

If you count all the bosses fights in the storyline before area 11
(Dark Area) that involve Megas, this will give you a total of 7
Megas (Belphemon, Barbamon, Lilithmon, Beelzemon, Leviamon,
Creepymon x 2). In the Dark area, you will encounter 4 Megas that
act as the orb guardian (Ghoulmon, Moon-Milleniummon,
Blackwargreymon, ChaosGallantmon). After you have saved at the last
point beyond the yellow door in area 11, Dark Area, you can fight
some of the storyline bosses again which gives you an additional 4
Megas (Belphemon, Barbamon, Beelzemon, Leviamon). If you count the
optional bosses, you can also have up to 12 additional Megas to
defeat (Darkdramon, Bantyoleomon, Neptunemon, Minervamon,
Mercurimon, MarineAngemon, Jumbogamemon x 2, Sleipmon, Omnimon,
Chaosmon, Wargreymon X). So in total this will just give you a total
of 27 Megas. So if you are a heavy gamer and want to have all the
digivolution for your digimon, you can find other wild Megas at
these places:

- Platinumnumemon can be found at the 3rd & 4th floor in the Dark
Area if you go through the Blue Room.
- Metalgarurumon can be found on the 4th floor of the Dark Area if
you go through the Red Room. It is basically the area where you have
to fight Blackwargreymon & Chaosgallantmon to get the yellow orb.
- MarineAngemon is available in the 2nd part of the Ice Labyrinth
after you have defeated Lucemon for the second time. An elevator
will appear which will lead you to a place where you can fight all
the remaining optional bosses.
- Blackghoulmon - I don't quite remember but he's most probably
around at either Dark Area or 2nd part of Ice Labyrinth.

====================================================================
6e. Fulfilling Tamer-Digimon relationship requirement (rela)
------------------------------------------------------------
Can be quite annoying depending on the command that you select
during the fights. In order to maintain good relationship with your
digimon, you have to select the command that the digimon wants to
use the most, which is equivalent to how many times those command
appear on your screen. And to fulfil the bad relationship
requirement, just keep on selecting the command that is least appear
on the screen. In my opinion, just make sure that your digimon
digivolve to other digimon that require good friendship first, and
only then abuse the relationship because it is much easier to build
bad relationship then a good one. That is why it is important to
learn how to switch command and make it appear more on the screen
first before selecting the command that you want to use.

====================================================================
6f. Fulfilling opening chests requirement (ches)
------------------------------------------------
Chests are scattered throughout the whole area as you progress more
into the game. However if you want to fulfill your digimon
digivolution requirement of opening a certain amount of chests much
earlier, you can go back to the place where you fought the bosses
previously. Normally there will be at least 2 chests at those places
at a time. Of if you want to wait later, you can go back and open
the chests after defeating the bosses for the second time (after
saving at the last save point beyond the yellow door in Area 11,
Dark area)

====================================================================
7. About storyline Bosses (sbos)
--------------------------------
All of the storyline bosses are NSo,which means that their weakness
is VB (except for 1st boss in Walter Island, Tyromon who is a DS).
All of them are also Mega, except for Lucemon (Ultimate). This will
also give you an idea of how to plan your digivolution since some
digimon required a minimal requirement of defeating megas in order
to digivolve to Mega rank, for example Gaomon to Miragegaogamon
(defeat 5 Megas) and Falcomon to Ravemon (defeat 5 Megas). So let
the digimon you want to digivolve to deliver the finishing blow if
you want to have a few Mega digimon at an early stage in the game.

====================================================================
8. Optional bosses/fights (Credits to Vangui) (obos)
----------------------------------------------------
With an exception to Kamemon quest (since I wrote a separate write
up on this), these are the optional bosses that you can find in the
game:

- Darkdramon - Area 5, Livilus Island - You can fight him after
clearing area 5, Livilus Island. Come back to the island after
defeating Lilithmon, input this colour at the box puzzle: Red,
Yellow, Green. A teleporter will appear to the south. Be careful
because he can be quite tough in the earlier part of the game,
especially if you are at low level. I died the first time I fought
him at level 18+ with 3 ultimates just because I want to see how
strong he is. His weakness is JT.

- Bantyoleomon - Area 8, Doomsday Forest - After finishing area 8,
Doomsday Forest, come back here and go the place where you fought
Creepymon earlier and you can find Bantyoleomon. Besides being
strong, somebody also wrote on the Board that he can remove
opponents from the battle stage, although it didn't happen to me, so
just be careful. His weakness is DR.

- Omnimon - 4th Floor, area 11, Dark Area - This should be done
after you have unlock the door (on the left) which was locked
earlier on the 3rd floor of Blue Room. You can unlock the door by
coming through it from the door on the 3rd floor of the Red Room.
(You'll do this step in order to get the yellow jewel. So you can
also do it after getting your yellow jewel). After the door is
unlocked, place the Blue Jewel on the pedestal, take the Red Jewel
along with you, go through the Blue Door (2nd floor) and take the
portal to the 3rd Floor (Blue Room). Walk through the unlocked door
that lead to the 3rd floor of the Red Room, take the elevator and go
up to 4th floor (Red Room). Place the Red Jewel on the pedestal and
you can fight Omnimon. His weakness is NSo. Just remember to take
back the Red Jewel before heading back to the 1st Floor or before
using the Return Key.

- Wargreymon X - 1st Floor, Dark Area - After getting the Rainbow
Jewel in a chest beyond the Yellow Door, go through the White Door
on the 1st floor to the place where you fought Ghoulmon earlier (and
receive your blue jewel). Put the rainbow jewel on the pedestal, go
through the door and you'll fight him. His weakness is NSp.

- Chaosmon - 2nd Floor, Dark Area - Place the jewel on the pedestal
in this order from left to right, red, blue, yellow. A teleporter
will appear and you can then fight him. His weakness is NSo.

- Mercurimon, Minervamon, Neptunemon, Jumbogamemon, Sleipmon - 2nd
area (5th Floor), Ice Labyrinth - Mercurimon, Minervamon,
Neptunemon, Jumbogamemon, Sleipmon - You can fight these megas and
fulfil your digivolution requirement after you have save at the last
save point beyond the Yellow Door at area 11, Dark Area. After you
have defeated Lucemon for the second time, a teleporter will appear
that lead to another area of Ice Labyrinth (5th Floor) and you can
find all these bosses in that area. The bosses will be in their
respective room except for Sleipmon and Jumbogamemon where you have
to speak to Commander Sampson and Yushima's first to challenge them.
But beforehand, I think you must defeat Yushima's Jumbogamemon first
at area 11, Dark Area as a prt of Kamemon's quest. These bosses are
quite strong, especially Mercurimon. So pick your level properly
before fighting them. Weakness: Mercurimon (DR & NSo), Neptunemon
(WG), Minervamon (VB), Jumbogamemon (WG), Sleipmon (NSo).

- Belphemon, Barbamon, Beelzemon, Leviamon, Lucemon - You can also
fight these bosses for the second time to receive their power after
saving at the last save point beyond the Yellow Door at area 11,
Dark Area. Go back to the respective area where you fought them the
first time and you can fight them again. This is also a part of the
requirement in order for you to meet Creepymon and receive his power
in Area 1, Walter Island. But beforehand, you must also talk to
Lilithmon in area 5, Livilus Island before meeting Creepymon.

- Black and White Pawnchessmon - 2nd Floor, Mirage Museum - Go back
to area 4, Mirage Museum, take the north elevator and enter the 1st
room, next to the room with the green switch. They are just rookies
and weak to JT. I'm not sure when is the earliest you can fight them
though.

9. Kamemon quests (Credits to Vangui) (kame)
--------------------------------------------
You can do the Kamemon quest in order to fulfil Boyomon's
digivolution requirement for Jumbogamemon or just for leveling up.
The key is to talk to Yushima in every stage. This is my way of
initiating the fight, in following order:

1) Area 2, Sneyato Forest: Talk to him. He is next to the barrier.
No fight.

2) Area 3, Rage Cavern: Talk to him and this will be your first
fight for the Kamemon quest. He's standing next to the road outside
the cave which is not far from your boss fight. But beforehand, let
me remind you that Yushima's digimon can be quite strong depending
on your level. So pick your level and manage your strategy properly
whenever you want to fight him. Come back later if you think that
you're not strong enough. Or if you want a challenge, try fighting
him at whatever level you have. Kamemon is a rookie and his weakness
is WG. If you cannot find him when the 1st time you come here, come
back later after finishing area 4 (Mirage Museum) or 5 (Livilus
Island).

3) Area 4, Mirage Museum: Talk to him. He is next to the save point.
No fight.

4) Area 5, Livilus Island: Make sure you find him here. This is the
stage where people always miss him. He is hidden behind the white
pillars opposite the save point, which is not really visible at a
glance. If you move your character towards the pillar than you can
see his back. If you cannot find him now, come back later.

5) Area 6, Digital dungeon: Talk to him. He is in a room next to the
room with the second Blue Switch. No fight.

6) Area 7, Sea Precipice Jerapilus: Talk to him and this will be
your second fight against him, if you think you can beat him at your
current level. He's on the 2nd floor, next to the Blue activation
floor. This time you'll fight against Gawappamon, who also has a WG
weakness.

7) Area 8, Doomsday forest ruin: Talk to him. He is next to the
switch that can change the way the water flow (upward or downward).
No fight.

8) Area 9, DATS Headquarters Entrance: Talk to him. He is somewhere
around the cross junction leading to the boss place so you will not
miss him. No fight. But go back to area 8, Doomsday forest ruin
after clearing this stage.

9) Area 8, Doomsday forest ruin: Talk to him. He will ask for a
fishing string. Go back to headquarter, talk to Samson and he'll
give you a fishing string. Go back and talk to Yushima and this will
be your third fight, if you think you can beat him at your current
level. You'll fight against Marineangemon, a Mega and her weakness
is WG.

10) Area 1, Walter Island: After beating Marineangemon, go to this
island and fight him there. He'll be standing next to the save
point. You'll fight against Shaujinmon with a WG weakness.

11) Area 10, Ice labyrinth: Talk to him. He is to the left from the
T-junction that leads to the boss place. No fight.

12) Area 11, Dark Area: You'll find him on the 4th floor in the room
with 3 red switches on the far left of the area. This is the place
where you'll get your yellow orb which looks like a garden and you
can find metalgarurumon scattered around here. You'll fight
Jumbogamemon and have fulfil the requirement to digivolve to
Jumbogamemon. His weakness is still WG.

13) Area 10, Ice labyrinth: You can fight Jumbogamemon for the
second time but this time he'll be paired with Sleipmon. You can
find him and Commander Sampson in a room on the second part of Ice
Labyrinth where all the remaining optional bosses are, after
defeating Lucemon for the second time.

10. Digimon weakness/opposing type (weak)
-----------------------------------------
Digimon weakness is based on the attack delivered by opposing
field/race/type of digimon and the effect is reversible between the
opposing type of digimon. For example, VB digimon is weak to NSo
attack/enchant, and vice versa. This is useful especially against
bosses in delivering more damage. List of opposing type:
    NSo - VB
    DR - NSp
    ME - JT
    WG - DS

====================================================================
11. Areas name (area)

2. Sneyato Forest
3. Rage Carvern
4. Mirage Museum
5. Livilus Island
6. Digital Dungeon
7. Sea Precipice Jerapilus
8. Doomsday Forest Ruin

12. Pandamon's questions (pand)
------------------------
Firstly I want to apologise because this section is incomplete.
Since I wrote this faq when I am already very far in the game,I
cannot fully remember the old questions that was asked and the order
it was asked. So if you guys can help, just e-mail me on the
questions, the order it was asked & the answers.

1) First time:
(I don't quite remember what was the question, but I think it's the
color of Gaomon's glove. So the answer is red)

2) Second time (After renamon in your party, I think. I think this
is the question where you can receive the Knowledge digiegg).
Answer: 10 minutes (Math questions)

3) Third time (I think after meeting Chuumon and he request for the
cheese from Pandamon):
Answer: Yushino (She's the oldest)

4) Fourth time (To upgrade his healing items):

Qn no: Answer: Option no:
------ ------- ----------
  1. Pumpmon 1
  2. Whamon 2
  3. NSp 2
  4. Red 3
  5. Green 1
  6. Kudamon 3
  7. DM of light 1
  8. Otamamon 1
  9. Pandamon 1
  10. Mercurimon 3

13. Digimental egg (DE) (degg)
-----------------------
You'll need the digimental egg for some digivolution. This section
is also incomplete. So hope others can help and confirm me on the
information
1. Light - Salamon's digiegg quest. (I don't remember how many
digieggs to trade for this item)
2. Hope - Could be in Mirage Museum, in a chest, forgot
3. Friendship - In a chest at area 7, Sea Precipice Jerapilus
4. Knowledge - Go and see Pandamon after you have Renamon in your
team. I think you have to answer a math question and the answer is
10 minutes. He'll give it to you afterwards.
5. Honesty - After you have met Chuumon, buy some stuff from him.
Stop buying, talk to him until you have his request for cheese from
Pandamon. If not, just buy some stuff again, stop buying & talk to
him again until he told you of his request. Then go back to
Pandamon, answer a question (I think the answer is Yoshino) and
he'll give you the cheese. Bring the cheese back to Chuumon.

14. Personal opinion on which Digimon to use in battle/level up
   (opin)
---------------------------------------------------------------

My team normally comprised of an attacker, a supporter and a healer.
So my preference would be the original first 3 digimon that you
receive in the storyline, which are Agumon, Gaomon and Lalamon.
Besides having a lot of mega form digivolution, Agumon is a strong
character and that is why I'm not surprise if he is also everyone's
main attacker. You cannot remove him anyway so just stick with it.
However in battle, Agumon's turn of action can be quite slow due to
its low agility and that is why one of my supporting characters is
Gaomon who's got really useful command like a G Agility Up to boost
his turn (Gaogamon & Miragegaogamon form). You can switch Gaomon
with Falcomon or Biyomon since those two are also quicker than
Agumon, but Biyomon joins your team a bit later in the game, so he
could fall behind in terms of level compared to the others. However
besides being fast and have the ability to make Agumon's turn of
action comes quicker, compared to the other 2 substitutes, Gaomon
also have useful command like Search Weakness and Attack Weakness
that can amplify damage, which I normally use a lot.

As for healer, normally I use Lalamon's Rosemon digivolution form.
Besides having higher agility than Agumon, she also has good healing
spell such as G Healing. But the con is that she can be quite weak
compared to Agumon and Gaomon sometimes due to lower stats. That's
why I substituted her with Renamon (Sakuyamon's form) sometimes
since Sakuyamon also have the same healing spell, but with higher
defense than Rosemon. However, same problem with Biyomon, Renamon
joins the team a bit late in the game which makes her fall behind in
terms of level. Another thing that makes Lalamon my better choice is
that she has the Resist Mega command which is quite useful in
reducing damage from bosses.

In terms of which Mega form to use, normally I just stick with the
one on the far right of each Digimon's evolution map (Agumon -
Shinegreymon, Lalamon - Rosemon/Minervamon, Gaomon - Miragegaogamon,
Falcomon - Ravemon, Biyomon - Phoenixmon, Renamon - Sakuyamon). The
reason being is that you can get these forms very early in the game
and most of their commands are very useful throughout the whole
game. Another reason is that the digivolution requirement of
defeating Megas & receiving 50,000-100,000 damage is normally much
harder to fulfill except for those who are patients and love
leveling up. That's why I have not received all of my digimon's Mega
form since im having problems fulfilling those requirements because
I'm quite lazy in leveling up. However comparing Agumon with the
other forms that I got such as Darkdramon, Ghoulmon, Gallantmon,
Wargreymon & Wargreymon X, Shinegreymon has the highest stats. So if
you're a lazy type and just want to finish the game, you can still
stick with your Shinegreymon form and I'm sure you'll do just fine.
For Gaomon, I used Miragegaogamon form mainly due to the agility and
the G Agility Up command. As for Lalamon, Rosemon is my better
choice compared to Renamon's Sakuyamon due to the higher level,
Resist Mega command and also Forbidden Temptation command that can
attack multiple enemies. However when Lalamon can digivolve to
Minervamon, I just use that form due to higher stats and late in the
game you should be rich enough to just buy all the high level
healing items, especially from Pandamon.

I beat all the bosses including the optional one with the level of
just below 50 and I do most of the leveling up just by beating all
the optional bosses. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there
who is better than me but what I'm trying to say is that you don't
need to be at high level to win the game, just the right strategy
would be sufficient. So it depends on your own choice on what
combination of digimon that you want, depending on your own style.
Some people like 2 attackers & 1 supporter, so just choose whatever
suits you. The important thing is just to enjoy the game.

B) Simple walkthrough

====================================================================
1. Walter Island (walt)
-----------------------

Preparation: If you have money, just buy a few healing items first.
When you get lalamon in area 2, she probably will do most of the
healing job with its heal command, instead of using items. So you
can start saving money afterwards.

Type of enemies: DS, NSO and a WG, Airdramon (a Champion) which is
available after clearing the stage. This is good place to hunt NSo
digimon as they appear quite often. Also good place to kill WG
digimon as they area quite rare and Airdramon appear more frequent
than other WG digimon in other places. So better do it quickly if
you want to evolve to Mega earlier in the game(For Agumon, you'll
need to kill 25 WG digimon in order to digivolve to Wargreymon & for
Falcomon you need to kill 5 WG digimon to digivolve to Ravemon)

          C B ---- S
                   |
             C ----Y C - Chest
                   | B - Boss
     C | C S - Save point
     | | | Y - Yushima
   Start-----------------/

Walkthrough: This stage is quite straight to the point. Just
remember to save before facing the boss.

Boss - 1st boss is Tyromon, a Champion. Just kick hiss ass. If you
have done enough killing you can already have at least 1
digivolution. 2nd boss is Creepymon. You cannot win this one as it
is a part of the storyline. So just use any command that you want.
If you want to receive his power as a part of Agumon's digivolution
requirement, Creepymon will be here after you have done the
sidequest of meeting up with the boss in Area 5, Livilus Island and
defeating the other demon lords (main story bosses) for the second
time (after saving at the last save point beyond yellow door at area
11, Dark Area). There is no second demon lord fight in this place,
so not necessarily to come back here except to fight Yushima and
receiving Creepymon's power which will increase Agumon's stats.

Yushima - He'll be here after you beat his MarineAngemon at (area 8)
Doomsday Forest during the Kamemon quest, after clearing area no 9
(DATS Headquarters Entrance). You'll fight against Shaujinmon with a
WG weakness.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this stage
- Just progress with the storyline or come back here to fight
Airdramon (WG) which is available after clearing the stage. A chest
is also available near the boss area.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Sneyato Forest (sney)
------------------------

Preparation: This time you already have lalamon. So you can let her
do the healing job and save money from buying healing items.

Type of enemies: VB, JT and NSp. A good place to hunt for NSp
digimon. Also not bad in terms of hunting for VB and JT digmon. If
you want to kill a lot of VB and JT, better do it here quickly
before clearing the stage as they appear more often compared to
after clearing the stage. The next place you will find more VB is at
a later stage, area 9, DATS headquarters entrance. JT digimon looks
like flowers and trees (Palmon, Woodmon) and dragonfly (Yanmamon).
For Nsp, they all looks like wild animal (wolf - Garurumon, lion -
leomon) while as for VB, Patamon is the only one available now.

          | Globe touching order:O1,O2,O3,O1
        Start

Salamon - From your starting point, you can talk to Salamon first on
your right. You can check your stats with him, which is important if
you want to keep track of your evolution map. He will also give you
some items based on the number of digimon you have defeated. Among
important items traded which is important for digivolution are the
Holy Ring and the X antibody. So keep on coming back here to check
your stats and trade for items once in a while.

Sphere puzzle - Firstly touch red sphere O1, then the red barrier to
the south and in front of Yushima will open. Go open chest C2. Then
talk to Yushima, then press red sphere O2 and then purple sphere O3
(some barrier will open and close). Then go back from the back
entrance and press red sphere O1 again. Purple Barrier in front of
the save point will open & you can then save and fight the boss.

Boss - Bakemon, a Champion. Just kick his ass and heal whenever
needed. Bakemon will then digivolve to Myotismon, an Ultimate. Use
VB enchant on your attacker and kick his ass. There is no second
demon lord fight in this place, so it is not necessarily to come
back here except for leveling up and fulfilling defeating certain
type of digimon.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this stage
- Just progress with the storyline or come back here to fight Leomon
(Champion) which is available after clearing the stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Rage Cavern (rage)
---------------------

Preparation: By now you should have 3 digimon in your command. So I
guess its better for you to start planning your evolution so that
you don't have to keep on coming back to the same area to hunt for
digimon. Buy some enchant items if you have the money. Im not sure
when these items will be available, but stock on some Return Key,
Low encounter and Invisible if you want to. Return key are useful if
you're lazy to walk back to the starting point and low encounter
makes your movement much easier.

Type of enemies: Mostly ME and NSp. You can identify ME type if you
are attacked by a shit-looking digimon (Numemon) or a rock digimon
(Gotsumon).

C - Chest B - Boss
Y - Yushima S - Save point
E1 - Transporter (Go to E2 and vice versa)

Walkthrough: This stage is quite straight to the point. Go to
elevator E1, and you'll arrive on 2nd Floor through E2. Then you can
collect all the loot from the chests, find Yushima (if available),
and then just head straight to the save point and the Boss area.

Yushima - I cannot find him the first time I arrive here. So if you
cannot find him now, come back here again later (after clearing area
4 or 5, perhaps). When you accept his challenge, this will be the
starting point of your Kamemon quest. You will need to complete the
quest in order to fight an optional boss, Jumbogamemon (Mega
level)in area 11, Dark Area. Defeating Jumbogamemon is also a
requirement for your Biyomon to digivolve to Jumbogamemon. If you
accept his challenge in this area, you'll fight his Kamemon. But
beforehand, let me remind you that Yushima's digimon can be quite
strong depending on your level. So pick your level and manage your
strategy properly whenever you want to fight him. Come back later if
you think that you're not strong enough. Or if you want a challenge,
try fighting him at whatever level you have. Use the same search
weakness, field enchant, attack weakness enchant, upgrade attack,
uograde defense strategy and you can win in a couple of round (or
probably kill him in a single attack if you have a strong digimon).
Kamemon is a rookie with a WG weakness.

Boss - Belphemon, a Mega. His weakness is VB. So use VB enchant if
you want to. It is also recommended for Gaomon to do the finishing
blow if you want him digivolve to Miragegaogamon very early in the
game, unless if you want to fulfil the defeating 20 megas
requirement for Agumon and Lalamon, which require a much longer time
to do. You can also fight him again for the second time after saving
at the last save point beyond yellow door at area 11, Dark Area.
Defeating him for the second time will increase Agumon's stats,
fulfil Agumon's requirement to digivolve to Belphemon and letting
you to meet up with Creepymon in area 1, Walter Island after beating
up the other Demon Lords as well.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this stage
- Try coming back here if you want to find Yushima and didn't find
him earlier. If you still cannot find him, then just come back
later. 2 chests are also available around the boss area.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Mirage museum (mira)
-----------------------

Preparation: By now you should have 4 digimons in your command.
Since the boss is a Mega, I guess it's better for you to start
planning your evolution on which Mega that you want first and which
digimon that you want to use for the rest of the game. These are the
minimum requirement if you want a Mega at an early stage in the
game:
- Gaomon (Defeat 5 Megas to get Miragegaogamon)
- Falcomon (Defeat 3 Megas to get Ravemon)
So just make sure either one of these two deliver the finishing
blow, unless if you are going for the defeating 20 Mega requirement
for any of the digimon of your choice. Also stock on the normal
stuff, Healing items, Find Weakness, Attack Weakness, Return Key,
Field Enchant and Low encounter if you want to.

Type of enemies: ME and NSo. You can identify ME type if you are
attacked by a rock (Gotsumon), a gear (Solarmon), a block agumon
(Toyagumon) and a yellow bear (Monzaemon). As for, NSo, it's a
candle (Candlemon) and a pumpkin (Pumpmon). You should also take
notice that Monzaemon and Pumpmon are Ultimate digimon. So you can
start fulfilling the defeating Ultimate requirement quite early in
the game if you want to since these 2 digimon appear quite often.

E1 - Transporter (Go to E2 and vice versa)
E3 - Transporter (Go to E4 and vice versa)

Walkthrough: Firstly, go to the north transporter, E1, and you'll
arrive on the second floor through E2. Then go to the room far on
the right to get a chest. After that go to the middle/second room,
and press the green switch G1, this will turn off Green Barrier WG.
Then go back to 1st floor through E2, go through the turn off
barrier WG and step on the transporter E3. You'll arrive on the
second floor through E4. Walk south and then east, go to the room on
the far left and turn on the Blue Switch GB, which will turn off
Blue Barrier WB. Then go have a chat with Yushima, save and face the
boss.

Miki & Megumi - They'll not be here the 1st time you explore the
area. I'm not entirely sure when they'll be here, but after you
reach area 11, dark Area, both of them should already be available
here. If you talk to both of them, you can fight 2 optional
bosses, Black and White Pawnchessmon. They are just rookies and weak
to JT, so I'm guessing you can encounter them quite early in the
game.

Boss - Barbamon, a Mega. His weakness is VB. Be careful though since
he can remove your party member from the battle field. You can also
fight him again for the second time after saving at the last save
point beyond yellow door at area 11, Dark Area. Defeating him for
the second time will increase Gaomon's stats, fulfil Gaomon's
requirement to digivolve to Barbamon and letting you to meet up with
Creepymon in area 1, Walter Island after beating up the other Demon
Lords as well.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this stage
- You can go back to area 3, Rage Cavern to find Yushima, if you
cannot find him the first time. If you still cannot find him, then
try again after clearing area 5, Livilus Island. 2 chests are also
available around the boss area. Also don't forget to go and see
Salamon to trade for items.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Livilus Island (livi)
------------------------

Preparation: Small map. There's also a lot of DR digimon here, so
you can also stock on more NSp enchant if you want to. As usual,
also stock on the normal item, if you want to.

Type of enemies: DR, ME, NSo, WG, VB and NSp. A good place to hunt
DR digimon (looks like dinosaur) as they appear more often. There is
also WG digimon (looks like bird) such as Toucamon or Birdramon here
but they appear less often.

*Transporter to Darkdramon's place will only appear after you have
solved the box puzzle - Red, Yellow, Green

Box puzzle solution: Blue, Red, Green

Walkthrough: You can go see Pandamon's first for clues to the Box
Puzzle. He'll ask a question, which I don't quite remember. I think
it was the color of Gaomon's glove. So the answer is red. Then go to
the box puzzle, switch each boxes until you get a Blue, Red and
Green boxes in a row. The barrier will be turn off and you can move
to the left, open a chest and walk up the vine on the wall to 2nd
floor. Try to find Yushima. If he is not available, then come back
later.

Boss - Lilithmon, a Mega. Her weakness is VB. You can come back here
after saving at the last save point beyond yellow door at area 11,
Dark Area, but she will not fight you. Meeting her for the second
time will increase Renamon's stats, fulfil Renamon's requirement to
digivolve to Lilithmon and letting you to meet up with Creepymon in
area 1, Walter Island after beating up the other Demon Lords as
well.

Yushima - He is hidden behind the white pillars, which is not really
visible at a glance. If you move your character towards the pillar
than you can see his back. If you cannot find him now, come back
later. You'll need to talk to this guy to complete the Kamemon quest
and enable you to fight his Gwappamon in area 7, Sea Precipice
Jerapilus. Make sure that you have also fought his Kamemon
beforehand in area 3, Rage Cavern.

Pandamon - Besides giving you tips on how to solve the box puzzle,
Pandamon also sold various stuffs which is not available at the
headquarters. I think Low Encounter and Return Key should be
available by now. You can come back here after you got Renamon in
your party. I think he'll ask a math question with the answer 10
minutes and then you'll receive the Knowledge digiegg. Also come
back here after meeting up with Chuumon in area 10, Ice Labyrinth.
He'll ask a question with the answer Yushino and he'll give you the
cheese that was asked by Chuumon. You'll need the cheese to get the
Honesty digiegg from Chuumon. And come back here for the last time
afterward and he'll give you a 10-questions quiz which will upgrade
his healing items.

  Qn no: Answer: Option no:

    9. Pandamon 1
    10. Mercurimon 3

Optional Boss - Darkdramon, a mega. His weakness is JT. Come back to
the island after defeating Lilithmon and input this colour at the
box puzzle: Red, Yellow, Green. A teleporter will appear to the
south of the box puzzle. Be careful because he can be quite tough in
the earlier part of the game, especially if you are at low level. I
died the first time I fought him at level 18+ with 3 ultimates
without using the item Invisible just because I want to see how
strong he is. So I recommend you to have at least 1 Mega if you want
to fight him and use a good strategy. U can also use the item
Invisible if he is too strong for you. You can also find 2 chests
here.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this
stage:
1. Find Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern if you haven't found him
2. Come back here to this area if you cannot find him the 1st time
3. Fight Darkdramon here or just walk pass him and open 2 chests
4. Trade item with Salamon
5. Open a chest that will appear around the boss area

--------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Digital Dungeon (digi)
-------------------------

Preparation: Can be quite a large place for some players, so
remember to stock on the normal items and Low Encounter.

Type of enemies: Same as Mirage Museum, mostly ME and some NSo. For
ME you can still find the common gear look-alike digimon (Solarmon
and Hagurumon) and shit digimon (Numemon and Goldnumemon). So this
place can also be a good stage for hunting ME digimon.

Walkthrough: Go to 3rd floor through transporter E1 and E3. In the
1st room on 3rd floor, turn on the Green Switch, G1. This will turn
off the Green Barrier WG. If you walk past the turn off Green
Barrier WG, you'll find that you are at a cross junction with 2 Blue
Barrier, WB which is still activated. Then go east and north, and
enter the 1st room to talk to Yushima and open 2 chests. No fight
with yushima this time. Then go to the room on far left and turn on
Blue Switch, B2. Then head back further south to the end and then to
the east. You'll find a room with Green switch, G2 and a chest. Just
open the chest, then move further to the east and then north. Grab a
chest, move north and you'll end up at the place with the save point
and 4 barriers earlier. Save, head north and you'll fight the boss.

Boss - Beelzemon, a Mega. His weakness is VB. You can also fight him
again for the second time after saving at the last save point beyond
yellow door at area 11, Dark Area. Defeating him for the second time
will increase Biyomon's stats, fulfil Biyomon's requirement to
digivolve to Beelzemon and letting you to meet up with Creepymon in
area 1, Walter Island after beating up the other Demon Lords as
well.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this
stage:
1. Find Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern if you haven't found him
2. Find Yushima in area 5, Livilus Island if you haven't found him
3. Fight Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island if you think you can
   beat him
4. Trade item with Salamon
5. Open 2 chests that will appear around the boss area

--------------------------------------------------------------------

7. Sea Precipice Jerapilus (seap)
---------------------------------

Preparation: Sorry to say, this is the most annoying place for me
due to the stair puzzle and it is quite a huge area. So better stock
on a lot of Low Encounter and Retun Key.

Type of enemies: You can find a lot of aquatic digimon here, which
is DS. So this will be a good place to hunt for DS type. Among the
DS digimon available here are Otamamon (tadpole), Whamon (whale),
Tyromon (blue winged shark) and Megaseadramon (sea dragon). Despite
the name, Megaseadramon is just an ultimate though. ME digimon are
also available here. Petranamon looks like aeroplane. However do not
mistaken Mambomon as a DS just because he looks like a flat fish.
There's also a few NSo digimon available here that looks like orcs
(Goburimon, Shamamon).

Walkthrough: Firstly, when you arrive at this place, on the 1st
floor, the stair S1 is pointing to the south. If you stand on Red
Stage R1, stair S1 will move to the east and connect to the round
stage on the right. So the Red Stage R1 act as a switch in
maneuvering the direction of the moving stair S1 to the south or to
the east. So step on Red stage R1, then walk to portal P1. You'll be
teleported to portal P2

After stepping on red stage R2, stair S3 and S5 will move to the
south and the stage will look like the picture below. You might also
not realize that S1 on the 1st Floor also move to the same direction
as S3 and S5. So basically when you step on R2, all S1, S3 and S5
will move to the same direction.

So from R2, walk to the junction between S3 and S5, walk south and
open Chest 1, C1. Then go up north through S3 and S5 to the Blue
Stage, B1. You'll also notice on your way that there are 2 chests,
C2 and C3 which cannot be reach now, but we'll come back for it
later. When you step on B1, Stair 7, T7 will move to North East and
the stage will now looks something like the picture below.

Yushima - You should talk to him along your way to B1. If you have
talk to him at all the other stages previously, and already fought
his Kamemon in Area 3, Rage Cavern, now you can have a second fight
with him. You'll go up against Kamemon's second form, Gawappamon, a
champion who also has a WG weakness. Be careful though because he
can be quite strong, depending on your level. So decide carefully
whether you want to fight him now or come back after saving at the
next save point.

3rd Floor (Initial stair location)
----------------------------------

When you arrive at 3rd Floor through portal P4, you'll notice that
the stage look something like the picture on the left. Go to Red
Stage R3, step on it, and stair S9 will move to northeast connecting
directly to P5. However you will also notice that on the second
floor, S5 and S3 will also move parallel with S9 and now the stair
S5 is already connected to the chest C2 and C3. So if you want to
open chest C2 and C3, go back to 2nd Floor and walk back through
stairs T7 and S5. After opening chest, come back to the 3rd Floor.
Chest C3 contain the Friendship DE which is required for Falcomon to
digivolve to Petranamon (I think, don't quite remember). For those
who just want to continue the game without bothering to go back for
the chests on 2nd Floor, just move to the East on 3rd Floor through
S9, take portal P5 to P6, open 2 chests on 4th Floor and go back to
3rd Floor. Head back to portal P4, but this time go through the Blue
Stage first on the south.

Go to portal P10 and the 4th Floor to open 2 chests and then come
back to the 4th Floor. Then go to the east to portal P8 and you'll
arrive at the boss area on the 5th Floor.

Boss - Leviamon, a Mega. Basically a huge crocodile. His weakness is
VB. You can also fight him again for the second time after saving at
the last save point beyond yellow door at area 11, Dark Area.
Defeating him for the second time will increase Falcomon's stats,
fulfil Falcomon's requirement to digivolve to Leviamon and letting
you to meet up with Creepymon in area 1, Walter Island after beating
up the other Demon Lords as well.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this
stage:
1. Fight Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern
2. Find Yushima in area 5, Livilus Island if you haven't found him
3. Come back here to fight Yushima's Gawappamon if you haven't
4. Fight Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island if you think you can
   beat him
5. Trade item with Salamon
6. Open 2 chests that will appear around the boss area

--------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Doomsday Forest (doom)
-------------------------

Preparation: Small area. I don't think you'll even need Low
Encounter for this place. So you can just do a little bit of
fighting while walking around. Just stock up on the normal items.

Type of enemies: I think this is one of the good place to hunt for
JT digimon. Although they appear less often but at least you can
find them here besides Sneyato Forest. Easy to identify as they
looks like insect (Butterflymon, Stingmon). ME digimon such as
Etemon (yellow monkey) and Kokuwamon (beetle robot) are also
available here. There's also a few WG and NSp digimon here. However
do not get confuse between Pegasmon (WG) and Shimaunimon (NSp)
though although both of them come from the same family.

Walkthrough: Go to the east and open a chest. Then head back to the
T-junction and head straight north for another chest in a cave. Then
go back to the cross junction, head east and north for another
chest. Afterward just follow the route to the east until you reach a
save point, a portal P1. Step on P1 to activate it and you'll be
transported to P2. Open a chest on the east and go back to P1 again
through P2. Stand near the river edge and there'll be options
whether you want to ride the log or not. Select to ride the log.
Firstly the water will flow downward. First stop is near Yushima and
switch control. Talk to him or just ride on the log again to go to
the second stoop point and open 2 chests. Then head to the 3rd stop
point and teleport back to P1 through P2. Do the same step again but
this time just stop at the 1st stop point near Yushima. Talk to him
if you haven't done it. Then go to the switch control and switch the
water flow so that it'll go upward. Ride on the log again, but this
time you'll move upward. At the next stop point you can open a chest
with a Discount Card. At the last stop point you can then open
chests, save and head on to the boss area.

Yushima - The first time you talk to him, it'll be just a normal
chat. However come back here after you have clear the next stage,
area 9, DATS Headquarters Entrance. Talk to him and he will ask for
a fishing string. Go back to headquarter, talk to Samson and he'll
give you a fishing string. Go back and talk to Yushima and this will
be your third fight. You'll fight against Marineangemon, a Mega and
her weakness is WG. I still think you need to do this optional
battle before fighting Kamemon's third form later in area 1, Walter
Island.

Boss - Creepymon, a Mega. His weakness is VB. You will not fight him
for the second time here though. However if you come back for the
second time, his place will be taken over by Bantyoleomon.

Optional Boss - Bantyoleomon, a Mega - After finishing this area,
come back here and go the place where you fought Creepymon earlier
and you can find him standing there. Besides being really strong,
somebody also wrote on the Board that he can also remove opponents
from the battle stage, although it didn't happen to me. So just be
careful. His weakness is DR.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this

1. Fight Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern
2. Find Yushima in area 5, Livilus Island if you haven't found him
3. Fight Yushima's Gawappamon in area 7, Sea Precipice Jerapilus
4. Fight Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island. I think you should be
   able to defeat him now
5. Trade item with Salamon
6. Come back here to fight Bantyoleomon
7. Open 2 chests that will appear around the boss area

--------------------------------------------------------------------

9. DATS Headquarters Entrance (dats)
------------------------------------

Preparation: Just stock up on the normal items. Bring along Low
Encounter if you think the area is too big for you. There is a lot
of walking on bridges exercise if you want to collect all the chests
items.

Type of enemies: There are a lot of NSo digimon here, coupled with
DR and VB type that appear sometimes. Can be a good hunting ground
for those 3 types of digimon. The DR digimon available here are the
various version of Greymon and Growlmon and as for VB you'll find
Angemon (white angel). As for Nso you can find Devimon (black
devil), Bakemon (ghost)and human flame (Meramon & Bluemeramon).

Walkthrough: Just walk to the east, up the bridge and open all the
chests around here. Then go north and eventually you'll end up at
the boss are. Also don't forget to talk to Yushima along the way
although there is no fight this time.

Boss - Creepymon, a Mega. Yup, him again. His weakness is still VB.
There is no second boss fight here so it is not necessarily to come
back here except for the 2 chests at the boss area.

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this
stage:
1. You should have fought Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern by now
2. You should have found Yushima in area 5, Livilus Island by now
3. You should have fought Yushima's Gawappamon in area 7, Sea

4. Fight Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island. I think you should be
   able to defeat him now
5. Go and talk to Yushima in area 8, Doomsday Forest. Fulfil his
request and you can fight his Marineangemon
6. After beating Yushima's Marineangemon, go to area 1, Walter
Island and fight Yushima's Shaujinmon over there. This will
enable you to fight Kememon's final form, Jumbogamemon in area
   11, Dark Area.
7. Fight Bantyoleomon in area 8, Doomsday Forest if you think you
   can beat him.
8. Trade item with Salamon

10.Try to take a look at area 4, Mirage Museum whether Miki & Megumi
are already available for battle now

10. Ice Labyrinth (icel)
------------------------

Preparation: Just stock up on the normal items. Don't forget to
bring along Low Encounter because the area can be quite large (4
floors)

Type of enemies: Various mixture of enemies here ranging from NSo,
NSp, DR, DS, VB and ME. There is also a lot of Ultimate here so it
can be a good place for leveling up and fulfilling defeating
Ultimate requirement. A thing to note is that aside from the
optional bosses, you can find a Marieangemon, a Mega digimon lurking
around in the second area (5th Floor) of Ice Labyrinth (available
after saving at the last save point beyond the Yellow Door at area
11, Dark Area and defeated Lucemon for the second time). I think
BlackGhoulmon should also be here but I don't quite remember though.

Walkthrough: Firstly, I suggested that you clear the right area
first since it's not that big and you can meet Chuumon on the 3rd
Floor. You can buy good items from him such as No Encounter &
Friend/Affection drink, and do a small quest to get the Honesty DE.
The more items you buy from him, better items will be additionally
sold at his store. After clearing the right stage area, go on and
clear the left area. You will eventually end up at the boss area on
the 4th Floor. However don't forget to speak to Yushima on the same
floor along your way as part of Kamemon's quest.

Honesty DE quest - After you have met Chuumon, buy some stuff from
him. Stop buying, talk to him until you have his request for cheese
from Pandamon. If not, just buy some stuff again, stop buying & talk
to him again until he told you of his request. Then go back to
Pandamon on area 5, Livilus Island, answer a question (I think the
answer is Yoshino) and he'll give you the cheese. Bring the cheese
back to Chuumon and he'll give you the Honesty DE. You'll need this
digiegg for one of the digivolution. I don't remember for which
evolution it was for though.

Boss - Lucemon, an Ultimate. His weakness is VB. You can also fight
him again for the second time after saving at the last save point
beyond yellow door at area 11, Dark Area. Defeating him for the
second time will increase Lalamon's stats, fulfil Lalamon's
requirement to digivolve to Lucemon, open up area on 5th Floor for
other optional bosses; and letting you to meet up with Creepymon in
area 1, Walter Island after beating up the other Demon Lords as
well.

Optional bosses - Mercurimon, Minervamon, Neptunemon, Jumbogamemon,
Sleipmon - You can fight these megas and fulfil your digivolution
reuqirement after you have save at the last save point beyond the
Yellow Door at area 11, Dark Area. After you have defeated Lucemon
for the second time, a teleporter will appear that lead to another
area of Ice Labyrinth (5th Floor)and you can find all these bosses
in that area. The bosses will be in their respective room except for
Sleipmon and Jumbogamemon where you have to speak to Commander
Sampson and Yushima's first to challenge them. But beforehand, I
think you must defeat Yushima's Jumbogamemon first at area 11, Dark
Area as a prt of Kamemon's quest. These bosses are quite strong,
especially Mercurimon. So pick your level properly before fighting
them. Weakness: Mercurimon (DR & NSo), Neptunemon (WG), Minervamon
(VB), Jumbogamemon (WG), Sleipmon (NSo).

Immediate optional things that can be done after clearing this
stage:
1. You should have fought Yushima in area 3, Rage Cavern by now
2. You should have found Yushima in area 5, Livilus Island by now
3. You should have fought Yushima's Gawappamon in area 7, Sea
   Precipice Jerapilus by now
4. You should have fought Yushima's Marineangemon in area 8,
   Doomsday Forest by now.
5. After beating Yushima's Marineangemon, you should have fought
Yushima's Shaujinmon in area 1, Walter Island by now. This will
enable you to fight Kememon's final form, Jumbogamemon in area
   11, Dark Area
6. You should have fought Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island by
   now
7. Fight Bantyoleomon in area 8, Doomsday Forest if you think you
   can beat him.
8. Trade item with Salamon
9. Open 3 chests that will appear around the boss area
10.Try to take a look at area 4, Mirage Museum whether Miki & Megumi
are already available for battle now

--------------------------------------------------------------------

11. Dark Area (dark)
--------------------

Preparation: Just stock up on the normal power up and high healing
items. There's a lot of optional bosses here and the Megas guarding
the jewel can be quite strong depending on your level.

Type of enemies: Same as area 10, ice labyrinth, various mixture of
enemies here. Most of them are ultimate and there are a few Megas
lurking around. So it is also a good place for leveling up and
fulfilling defeating Ultimate/Mega requirement. A few Megas
available here are:
- Platinumnumemon - 3rd & 4th floor in the Dark Area if you go
through the Blue Room.
- Metalgarurumon - 4th floor (Blue Room) of the Dark Area if you go
through the Red Room. It is basically the area where you have to
fight Blackwargreymon & Chaosgallantmon to get the yellow orb.
- Blackghoulmon - He could be here though, I don't quite remember

Walkthrough:

When you enter the castle, you'll see a save point and a White Door.
Go through the door and you'll eventually end up in a puzzle area.
The solution is to step on the triangle in the following sequence:
Left, Right, Middle. A door will be open and you'll fight Ghoulmon,
a Mega with a VB weakness. After defeating him you'll receive the
Blue Jewel.

You can unlock D1 on the 3rd Floor (Blue Room) if you go
       through here.
D2 - Door leading to door D1 on the 3rd Floor of the Red Room.
However it can only be opened for the first time when you go
through the 3rd Floor of the Red Room (with the Red Jewel on
the pedestal in front of Red Door).
D - Normal door
O - Pedestal
P1 - Elevator go to P2
P2 - Elevator go to P1 if you come here from the Blue Door. But it
will go to P3 if you come here through the Red Door (get
       Yellow Jewel)
P3 - Elevator go to P2 when you come here through the Red Door
P4 - Elevator go to P5
P5 - Elevator go to P4 if you come here from the Red Door. But it
will go to P6 if you come here through the Blue Door (to
       Omnimon)
P6 - Elevator go to P5 when you come here through the Blue Door
Y - Yushima
C - Chest

After receiving the Blue Jewel, go to the 2nd Floor, place the Blue
Jewel on the pedestal in front of the Blue Door, and go through it.
Take the elevator P1 and go to the 3rd floor (Blue Room). You'll
notice that there is a door to your far left, D2, but it cannot be
opened yet. Ignore the door first, and just go to the north until
you reach a triangular puzzle (Puzzle 1). I think the solution to
the puzzle is Right-Left-Right (or Left-Right-Left, don't quite
remember). Afterward a door will be open and you'll fight
MoonMilleniumon, a Mega with a VB weakness. After defeating him
you'll receive the Red Jewel.

After receiving the Red Jewel, place the Red Jewel on the pedestal
in front of the Red Door, and go through it. Take the elevator P3
and go to the 3rd floor (Red Room). Go through the door D2 and
you'll end up in the Blue Room (3rd Floor) through D1 which cannot
be opened earlier. Go to elevator P2, but this time there is only an
option of going up. Take it and you'll end up on the 4th Floor (Blue
Room). There are triangular puzzles on the 1st two rooms from the
left. The solution is:
1) Go to Middle Room, step on Middle-Left-Right
2) Go to Left Room, step on Middle-Left-Right
3) Go back to Middle Room again, but this time just step on Right
Door on the right will open and you'll fight a pair of Megas,
Blackwargreymon (weakness NSp) and Chaosgallantmon (weakness VB).
After defeating them you'll receive the Yellow Jewel.

After receiving the Yellow Jewel, place the Yellow Jewel on the
pedestal in front of the Yellow Door, and go through it. You'll find
the Rainbow Jewel in a chest and a save point. Save at the last save
point and you have 2 options. The first one is to just continue up
and fight the final boss, Dark Lord or do all the other optional
things and quests; like fighting optional bosses and receive the
power of the storyline bosses.

Yushima - You'll find him on the 4th Floor (Blue Room). If you have
done all the Kamemon's quest previously, this will will be your last
fight for the quest. You'll fight his Jumbogamemon and fulfil the
requirement to digivolve to Jumbogamemon. His weakness is still WG.
However you can still fight him for the second time at the new area
(5th Floor) of Ice Labyrinth after defeating lucemon for the second
time. But this time he'll be paired with Sleipmon.

Final Boss - Dark Lord, a Mega. His weakness is VB. Use the normal
strategy. Eventually you will finish the game and smile all day long
:)

Optional bosses:

1) Omnimon - 4th Floor (Red Room)- This should be done after you
have unlock the door D2 which was locked earlier on the 3rd
floor of Blue Room. After the door is unlocked, place the Blue
Jewel on the pedestal, take the Red Jewel along with you, go
through the Blue Door (2nd floor) and take the portal P1 to the
3rd Floor (Blue Room). Walk through D2 and you'll end up in the
Red Room (3rd Floor) through D1. Go to elevator P5, but this time
there is only an option of going up. Take it and you'll end up on
the 4th Floor(Red Room). Place the Red Jewel on the pedestal and
you can fight Omnimon. His weakness is NSo. Just remember to take
back the Red Jewel before heading back to the 1st Floor or before
   using the Return Key.

2) Wargreymon X - 1st Floor - After getting the Rainbow Jewel in a
chest beyond the Yellow Door, go through the White Door on the
1st floor to the place where you fought Ghoulmon earlier (and
receive your blue jewel). Put the rainbow jewel on the pedestal,
go through the door and you'll fight him. His weakness is NSp.

3) Chaosmon - 2nd Floor - Place the jewel on the pedestal in this
order from left to right, red, blue, yellow. A teleporter will
appear and you can then fight him. His weakness is NSo.

Immediate optional things that can be done after saving at the last
save point beyond the Yellow Door:
1. You should have fought Yushima's Gawappamon in area 7, Sea
   Precipice Jerapilus by now
2. You should have fought Yushima's Marineangemon in area 8,
   Doomsday Forest by now.
3. After beating Yushima's Marineangemon, you should have fought
Yushima's Shaujinmon in area 1, Walter Island by now and beat the
crap out of Kamemon's final Mega form, Jumbogamemon on the 4th
   Floor of Dark Area
4. You should have fought Darkdramon in area 5, Livilus Island by
   now
5. You should have fought Bantyoleomon in area 8, Doomsday Forest by
   now
6. Trade item with Salamon to get X-Antibody
7. Fight Miki & Megumi's Pawnchessmon at area 4, Mirage Museum
8. Defeat all the bosses for the second time and receive their power
(except for Lilithmon & Creepymon where you don't have to fight
   them)
9. Go and see Creepymon in area 1, Walter Island to receive his
   power
10.Defeat all the optional bosses in the Dark Area
11.Defeat all the optional bosses on the new area, on the 5th Floor
of Ice Labyrinth after defeating Lucemon for the second time
11.Or just forget all these optional tasks and go on fighting with
   the final boss

D) Others

====================================================================

1. Improvement wish list
------------------------
Based on this game and all the previous Digimon World series, I wish
to suggest these improvements for the next Digimon World RPG (if
there is any):
1. Give us a map. That would be helpful
2. Reduce the encounter rate or give the low encounter item quite
early in the game or more save points
3. Speed up the loading time
4. Speed up the action sequence during battle or after killing the
enemy. It could be quite boring sometimes to wait for the action
   to take place
5. Throw in some cool-looking movie or FMV in the game, especially
fighting sequence, not only the introduction movie. Final Fantasy
& Shadow Hearts series have this, which is very interesting. I
was always astonished by the introduction movie of each Digimon
World series, so adding more movies will be better, I think. Also
enable certain button that can be pressed to skip the movies
6. Add on combo action or special attack. For example, a special
gauge that will increase each time you receive damage, and when
it is full you can then unleash special powerful attack.
7. Put a help section explaining the gameplay
8. Add extra mode after finishing the game. Probably extra stage or
extra hard bosess to fight with

2. About me
-----------
My real name is Rizal and I live in Malaysia. I love PS2 games
especially in the action, beat-em up and RPG genre. But I'm not a
fan of first person shooter game though. Besides PS2 games I also
love anime, jdrama & movies. I'm not really a game freak as I also
have my own job, my own life and other stuffs to do. So most of the
time I just play games during my leisure time. Initially I was
planning to submit this faq in October, however due to work
commitment, that is why I can only finish most of the write up
today. Besides a couple of flaws mentioned earlier, I think Digimon
World Data Squad is still an enjoyful game. For those who love RPG,
check out these other great games: Final Fantasy series, Shadow
Hearts series, Valkyrie Profile, Legend of Legaia, Dark Cloud, Jade
Coccoon.
