Well, to tell you the truth, I am not entirely sure how exactly you are supposed to use an Irish Whip on your opponent when you have those control settings equipped. I am also not sure on what buttons you are supposed to press, but you should already know how to do this. Whenever you change your control type settings, the game should show you what buttons you will have to press in order to do this or that. Even if it does not show you how to, then a taking a little time to experiment with the new controls will not hurt you. You just need to press the button to grapple your opponent and then press X. That is how you would normally use an Irish Whip, and I do not think they would have changed it that much. If it is too confusing then you can always switch back via the options menu.
