That doesnt work, you can't stop quick enough even with the quro q breaks.

Here is what I did to complete this (for future references):

Do what @ChoroQ said, except you don't break immediately. Wait for around 1 second, then quickly switch your spoiler so it goes downward, and use your jet turbine for a little extra boost so you reach the island. You should bounce the edge like jamo-man said, and then you can use your instinct and stop on the island.

Also, don't USE THE GLIDER and ALWAYS USE THE TURBINE AND SPOILERS.
