Were trying to kill shang tsung and were not sure how because your also bleeding to death and we cannot get past him how do we kill him?

I did this trick on the PSP version, it is like this game but just a tad different. This is how I got past him. First battle him and try your hardest (or not), when you lose don't challenge him again. You will return back to the quest thing. Imediately start running and you should run right past him without fighting him again.
