Equinox level survival?

Equinox level survival?

On this level, once you shoot out one rocket, you have to float as fast as you can to try to be in place for the next rocket (because the floating is so hard to control). There's no time to kill the astronauts; yet if you take time to aim, the laser kills you. Have been on this level for a year, and played it hundreds of times. Can't complete, it is even possible? In the time it takes to aim, the health goes from green to yellow to red. The furthest I've ever got is 4 rockets couplings melted. Has anyone ever completed this; if so, HOW??

wow.. i was stuck on this lv. for about 3 years, and finally beat it today. ok here's how i did it,
when the first two enemies come out, kill them, then go and shoot the first rocket. then 3 guys come out on the left side,(facing laser) kill them. then take out the missles that come up,the place to shoot dosn't open for about 10 seconds after the green dot flashes. so you have time.. then 3 guys come from the right, ignore them and destroy the missles as normal. ignore the guys still appearing, the last 3 rockets should be coming up, take the one at the end first, the one by itself. Then move up and take out the last two rockets. Don't get excited yet, your just now at the hard part, take out the guys who are still there, Spoiler:

OK, I've tried to follow this description and have played about another 50 times. Can't even come close.
Here's what happens:
The 2 astronauts come out; shoot them. Go as fast as I can (which is very slow, on this level) to shoot out the 1st missile; it takes time to position close enough for aiming to work, so I have to head over there immediately. 1st missile coupling shot out. 2 more missiles come up. More astronauts come out but if I pause, there's no time to shoot out the next rockets. In the time it takes to get to these next 2 rockets, the astronauts are firing. I have to hold very still and close-in to aim at at the coupling or I'll float to one side - it takes extreme accuracy. Because it took so long to float into place, and because I had to take time to aim, my life has already gone from green to red, due to astronaut hits and the laser. Three more rockets come up but there are so many astronauts out now that if I hold still, I'm done. In several years of play, the furthest I've gotten is 4 rockets down - usually just 3. I've had friends try the level but they shrug and say "it's not possible to beat the level". Yet it would appear that other people have beaten this level. The problem seems to be that you have to choose between the rockets and the astronauts, while there is no way to avoid the laser, because if you stop to aim, it hits you.

Baffled.

if you shoot the rockets do not release the fire button you save time to move on and to move quicker keep the green fire button pressed you travel faster giveing more time and get out of the way of the laser by moving to the side but iihave not beaten drake yet

add:
If I take any time to shoot an astronaut (except for the 2 trigger astronauts at the beginning), the woman's voice says "it's too late James" ; so I have to concentrate on the missiles. However after 3 missiles have been shot, the air is full of astronauts plus the laser. Life goes from green to yellow to red unavoidably. This is on the easiest setting.

to defeat jake at the end stay back away from the explosion ,keep your finger on the fire button and dont let go so can get
rockets faster and have more time to
shoot astronauts, and move to the side from the laser i cant get you there
Guest answered:

try using the overcharge it helped me complete this mission

Guest answered:

I can get all the rockets survive the laser by
Moving to the side near the rockets ,when shooting the rockets keep your finger on the trigger for continuios fire and keep moving but I have not got jake yet

Guest answered:

On this mission the furthest I have ever got is disabling all the missiles before being killed. The astronauts shoot at you too quickly whilst trying to disable the missiles. The best bet would be to keep moving whilst shooting at the missiles and only shooting at the astronauts if you have time to spare. Dodge as much as possible so that you can preserve your health for when the missiles are disabled.

I just started playing this game in May 26 and completed May 29 you like a hint take on:
1.while trying to shoot missiles strafe to avoid shoots.
2.when you disabled all missiles go in the center them get down when the meteor destroy the glass you should see Drake in your front!
Happy gaming.
