There is nothing really special about the turtle. I am pretty sure that it is just there for amusment. You don't have to worry about it.
You can actually get the turtle as your pet.If only you befriend Cody.You know the swamp where the turtle is,try to befriend Cody.He will be standing over there.Yes,he is quite difficult to befriend.You can give him food that you made,vegetables,eggs,milk,flowers and stuff from the digging site but not all.Try to give him stuff when he is walking around.He will not accept anything from you when he is at home or staring at thing which he calls it as 'Art'.Go to the swamp when he is your friend and fish at summer(6-9pm)He will give you a strange sickle and aturtle after you fall into the swamp.
