Daryl is NEVER out of his house to accept gifts from me I have tried every day at differant times and he is always inside his house. Its already fall in season 1 and I really want a sead maker from him. When is this man in his front yard?

You can visit Daryl in his house most days in between 1-5pm and he usualy come out and walks up to the spring late at night.

Ok, I'm trying to befriend Daryl, too. I noticed that he usually leaves his house about 5:01 PM or around 7:00 Pm. Also, if you visit him while it's raining and hes not sleeping, a cutscene will occur, which will allow you to befriend him more. When you're sort of friends with him, you can then give him fish while he's in his own home.
