Whats a good way to beat this battle

I'm on Nanman force for story mode and I am at the final act.
But you know that butt kicking, eye popping, crazy man Guan Yu?
I have Meng Huo and his second weapon on level 2 maybe it was level 3,
I don't really know how high my ranking is for my weapon.
But Guan Yu keeps apearing right before I kill Liu Bei.
And all the time Guan Yu beats me!
Can you tell me how high my weapon rank has to be and what I can do
To waste time so Liu Bei appears faster?

You might want to try powering up Meng Huo some more he may not be very fast but max him a litlle bit and you'll be fine. Also to to obtain his $th level weapon.

You should play Musou Mode with him to max out his weapon. Also equip life, defense, and attack items to him. Or if you can, just try to avoid Guan Yu altogether.
