Form Info, Leveling, and Drive tips

You’ve probably read that you can go into any Coliseum match, and, without fighting, exit and suddenly have a full Drive gauge. This is true. Also, returning to a save point while in drive form will also return you to max drive. However, there’s an even simpler way; it depends on how far in the story you’ve gotten, but in most worlds there is at least one location at some point in time when all the characters wander around in the room. The first one (useless, but good example) is after you emerge from the Mansion. You can talk to Donald and Goofy, and run around without them following you. Entering these rooms while in drive form also returns your gauge to max. NOTE: this is effective until the next cutscene

Leveling up the Forms

Valor = attacks landed -most effective areas: Underworld, Fragmented Passage in The WTNW

Wisdom = heartless defeated - most effective areas: fragmented passage in the WTNW

Master = drive orbs obtained - most effective areas: beast’s castle (off of beast’s room)

Any Form:

In valor form, which you get very early on, you get exp from successful attacks on any enemy. To level up your form quickly in Hollow Bastion, land in Merlin’s House, and step outside. Before walking away from the door, enter Valor form. Then attack all the enemies that appear once you reach the steps. Go to the right and defeat all of those; go toward the steps that lead toward the bailey, and defeat these, but only if your gauge is still above 1.5. Run back to Merlin’s house before the gauge is halfway and at zero (in wisdom form, start back when the 1 bar runs out). Go to the save point and return. This method will level you up quickly and early on. You can use a similar method in most worlds.

When you reach Olympus, you can enter any cave and return to the place you found Meg at the beginning. Use this to your advantage if you are still leveling your Drives! Get back to this room quickly if your gauge is running out.

When Meg has been captured, the room we know as The Lock has our two friends wandering in circles. Reentering this room after battling in Form returns all your Drive points.

Such rooms appear at random times in many worlds, and not all of them stay. Alley to Between in the World that Never Was, for example, becomes just another room with a savepoint after the next cutscene.

Late in the Game:

Once you have reached the World That Never Was, you can level up Wisdom and Valor very, VERY quickly. Change Sora’s main weapon to Oathkeeper, and the Valor weapon to Sweet Memories or Rising Dragon, since the form levels from number of attacks dealt. Leave the “independent room” and change into Wisdom or Valor (Note: this method is not very effective on Master ). Outside there are hordes of shadows, aka heartless, whose numbers level up Valor, and whose very existence levels up Wisdom.

WARNING : changing into any form during battle may result in antiform ;

Anti-form has very strong attacks, but does not allow magic or health restoration. Both party members disappear, and Sora’s drive gauge goes all the way to zero when anti-form runs out. If this happens, find a save point and go to world map, or find an “independent” room before it runs out, and he will change back with all his drive points.

The frequency that Anti-form appears is unpredictable, and cannot be leveled up or depended upon. Auto Valor is the most frequent cause of this form, but is still useful.
