On Disc 2 after I defeat Lenus and Regole my disc freezes to a black screen. It is right after I recieve my experience points and that stuff my game just goes blank. Now I have tried to get past this on two different discs, on two different games and on two different playstations. If anyone else has had this problem or at least knows how to get past it please tell me because I have tried just about everything I can think of to get past this and I really would like to continue my game past the 2nd disc. I am now starting my third time starting over. Please help

If you are playing it in a ps2 then stop that is probably why your game is freezing or try in the smaller version of the ps1. If that doesnt work then I can't help u

I thought the PS2 was made so that it could play PS1 games. That was the whole reason I bought a PS2 in the first place was because it could play PS1, PS2, DVD and CD.

The old version of the ps2 will play them at first but after you have it for a while, the blk ray disc will stop working for it. The older it gets the more it will stop playing discs outside of the ps2 games

All PS2's seem to have read errors in this spot, regardless of age or version. Try fighting the battle without going Dragoon; I had the same problem, but this fixed it.

The problem is probly the ps2 is you have the old bulky version where the tray comes out then it's probly the eye alinement problem that they have the newer version of the ps2 should play it. Or just try useing the ps1 instead to ger past it it could even be the game data is corupted.

The exact same thing happened to me right after I get my experience points and money. I think that those guys are right and you have to use a Ps1 because I couldn't tell you how many times I killed that dragon and that dragoon girl and my screen goes black right after I get my experience points.

All you have to do is defeat Lenus without going dragoon I had the same problem. The designers or the game screwed up and the only way to continue with the game is to beat her in human form. I know this is hard just train in the cavern till level 27 28 and almost full additions.

have defeated lenus several times and same thing happened.. just defeated lenus with dart's having the dragoon mode then received and item and armor at the same time.. and woof! it worked

I had a similar problem except whenever I beat lenus and regole my game froze before I even got to the page where you receive experience and items. I have tried it without using dragoons but it still freezes. I'm playing on a ps1 as well. I may just need to replace the disc. Thanks.

i have exactly the same problem as you guys i have defeated her countless times but after i get my exp the screen blacks out im going to try not going into dragoon but i dont think i have a ps1 anymore... :(

I beat Lenus in human form got the experience and then the screen goes blank I already beat her 5 times this game use to work all the time

PS2 shouldn't be the problem as many people have said, I bought this game in it's Greatest Hits cover at the time I had the 1st bulky PS2 played the game through well up to this point, didn't know about the glitch of using Dragoon and the game freezes but far as I'm concerned when I fought her I went dragoon with everyone I had Dart, Rose (my fave) and Albert. This problem didn't occur. My theory is since I have a Greatest Hits version (black & white discs) that bug was fixed. The discs before GH the full colored discs have the issue since my cousin had those and it froze for him.

I had the EXACT f*cking problem for a year and was like WTF, I just played this like 4 years ago(on a PS1) and it worked FINE!!! Then I just played today on a friend's disc thinking finally I can move on... Well it happened again! Then I'm thinking no way this is a coincidence, there must be something in production or transferring to a PS2 that doesn't allow loading... Looked it up, found myself here looking for a solution or commiseration. I tried what that guy said about not going dragoon(and that battle is a pain in the F*CKING a$$ without it trust ME...) and guess what, AFTER, it WORKED AGAIN! That guy up there in comments is a God. No dragoon and your good. YAY! Just beat it 2 minutes ago!

I can tell you that I have beat the game (shortly after it first came out) on the original play station and didn't have this problem at all. I do wis I had read this before I had restarted the game... I want the complete set of Dragoon Spirits! Meru is my favorite Dragoon Character, I think I even used her in the final battle!

Yep it's alway going dragoon mode that triggers this glitch and it can happen during any fight when playing onything other an ps1. Yer lucky you even got a victory screen at all. The first time it hit me was fighting Virage 2 it took me over an hour to get past it because after revert from dragoon to human the game took 10 minutes to give either side a turn. It happened again fight gehrich only that time I couldn't "wait it out" and everyone on screen just stood there doing their idle breathing animation. I alway found it ironic that a 1st party sony game would have a hardware issue lol.

At least now that LoD has been made a downloadable PSone classic people can enjoy this gem of game without the bugs :D

Hey all. I just got to this part on my greatest hits disc. I am playing on my PSP 3000 with my multi disc eboot I created from those greatest hits disc. Sure enough I fought using dragoons and it froze. I played again without transforming and it worked perfectly. Now I can keep Hammer Spinning until it's time for that Cool Boogie! C ya!

I was helping my sis beat this part with out using the dragoon we accidentally used roses dragoon and only hers we then finished the battle and it didn't freeze I think you can use only one dragoon with out it glitchin
