Here is what you do, examine a doom book, turn the book so that the pages are facing you, the side opposite of the spine, press X , and get the emblems. Go to the place where that door is welded shut, go to the pool near there,put the emblems in the holes. Hope this helps!

I knew the books obviously had something to do with the symbols on the fountain, but I would never have thought to spin the books and hit X to open the pages. Thanks for the tip.
