I always run out of food before I can get level 3 farming to clear the algae. I already used the coconuts. What do I doo?

You can use cheat engine to get more tech points then buy all the tech stuff and you will still have tech points.
What I do is pause the game when I'm taking a long break from the game, like going to school or sleeping. That way, the amount of food doesn't decline. Another alternative is to put your game on half speed, that way your villagers eat less food but the amount of tech points you gain is not affected...
