The "root of the problem" is one of 4 magical growths that can appear when your family does magic alot. The game counts how many spells and charms your family casts, and for every fifteen casts, it randomly selects a magic growth and places it in your yard. These growths are GEraniums, Root of The Problem, Beanstalk, and Power crystals. The root of the problem is the worst of the magical growths because it causes spell and charm backfires. You should sell it in buy mode for $12. If any other growths show up in your yard, keep them because they can be useful.
