Question for Minecraft

Hi. I started a world in Minecraft and I wanted to find some cows for leather, but whenever I search for one, I can't find any. I go across many biomes here from plains, to extreme hills, to taiga, and none show up, please help because I REALLY want to make a book so I can make an enchantment table.
Thank you.
(Cheats are off so that's not an option.)

You will find cows, but it may take a long time. Either write down the coordinates of your home, or if you built near the original spawn, then you can keep a compass in your bag (these methods will help you find your way home). Put some wheat in you inventory, and start exploring further.

I suggest breeding what cows you find when you find them, and try to bring the large herd home. This way if you lose one or two, you won't be screwed.

I once had to go 600+ blocks in one direction just to find sheep.

I have four answers, here you go.

1. Create new world and make the seed "cow". That is just for luck. I recommend having cheats on, not hacks, but the commands that Mojang has given us. Type this "/give (Player Name) 383 64 92" This will give us an egg that is the colors of a cow named "Spawn Cow". Right-click any block, and a Cow will appear.

2. This is the way if you want to do it with cheats off. Once again use the seed "cow" for luck. Your world will spawn and go to find a Plains biome. Search it from left to right, top to bottom. You should search for a Cow, I recommend not having a texture pack that makes everything look completely different. If you find
a cow don't go far away from it. Get some wheat and hold it and the Cow should follow you, go back to your home.

3. You can use MCEdit or NBTEdit (see my guide) For MCEdit you should have a chest in your world. Double-click on the chest and it will say "Add" in the box that appears. Put in a Cow Spawn egg or Monster Spawner. Exit MCEdit and go back to MineCraft. Go into the chest and get the Cow Spawn egg/Monster Spawner from the chest and put it on the ground. If you used Cow Spawn egg, then you will have a Cow. If you chose Monster Spawner, then go back to MCEdit and double-click on the Monster Spawner. It will bring up a box that has a list of mobs, scroll down and click on "Cow". Exit MCEdit and go back to MineCraft and you have a Cow Spawner. If it does not work, you must put grass around the spawner.
3Part2. You can also use a program called NBTEdit. Open up MBTEdit to get started. But exit out of MineCraft first. Go to the cheat page and see my guide called "NBTedit".

4. The fourth way is a little thing called Tekkit, or Technic Launcher. Go to technicpack.net to get it. You can hit "Browse Modpacks" and select "Lapito's GalacticCraft". Hit "copy URL" and go to the actual launcher. In the launcher hit the "Add Modpack". Then hit paste, hit launch and you should have something called "Not Enough Items (NEI)". Pick a Monster Spawner for a Cow, or a Spawn Egg for a Cow.

Either you turned spawning off or you are just unlucky, I suggest chucking game settings and looking a bit more anywhere with grass

Guest answered:

Look around a area with not many trees then look around and you may find some cow to get leather.
