I have materials in my inventory. How do I use them to help me upgrade a wonder? It always directs me to "ask friends" when I have the material myself.

just click on the wonder and there you wil find an option called "upgrade". Just click on the upgrade button to use you're materials...

I've tried that but it doesn't let me use the material in my inventory. The only options are "ask friends" or "buy for gold", not "use from inventory" or something like that.

i have the same problem...so how do you use your items, i have three gears in inventory, and when i go to upgrade it says the same, ask friends or buy but i have the items

gears etc in inventory are used automatically when you first put one of the wonders in the garden

How do you get the items needed to upgrade the wonders other than buying them of asking a friend

I have tried this, and do no have the gold. I know I have the items as they have been sent to me but I don' know where they are.
Also I am now stuck at the dog poker table, it is finished. No more scenes will open up. I am stuck with no more scenes to play and can not upgrade or finish Monte Carlo. I have an I Pad and believe I have done the upgrade. What do I try next?

The structure will not upgrade the level until you have acquired ALL materials necessary to upgrade to the next level. You may have an excess of wood but not enough nails. Once you have all necessary materials, the "Upgrade" button will appear at the bottom of the pop-up box. There are some "complete buildings now" boxes that require you to have X number of friends help complete or buy with gold as an option.
