What is the best armor and weapon?

The best armour I choose for myself is Bright Platemale Armour. As to the best weapon, nothing beats the Sword of Aeons. One problem to get the sword you have to get to the end of the story line and SIT THROUGH THE WHOLE OF THE END CREDITS OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT KEEP THE WEAPON OR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE SINCE YOUR LAST SAVE. After watching the credits it will ask you to save, and voila you have completed the storyline and have kept the Sword of Aeons.

Nah. The best weapon in the game is the 'Solus Greatsword" and the best armor i think is dark plate mail with the demon warrior helmet on.[img][/img]

The best weapon is a sword (forgot it's name..sorry) that you can buy at the shop near the mayor's house..its better than swords of Eon and other weapon..for the armor,i'm not so sure..its depend on your characteristic either good or evil..

Sword of Aeons and Avo's tear are both better than Solus greatsword (Which you buy near mayor) Avo's tear increases in power, the "gooder" you are, and Sword of Aeons increase in power the eviler you are. The best armour in the game is Archon's Battle armour, which is found in a 25-key chest in Necropolis (Only in "The lost chapters")

The best armor on the game is archans battle armor wich is in a chest that takes 25 keys to open and the solus greatsword is the best sword in the game

The best sword is NOT the sword of Aeons

The best sword in the whole game is the Solus Greatsword which can be bought off the blacksmith in Bowerstone South

314 Damage
Flame Augmentation
Piercing Augmentation
Sharpening Augmentation

The best armour is Archons Platinum Armour, which you find in the Necropolis in a Silver Key chest (needs 25 keys I think)

It looks awesome, has a helmet, and a 1100 armour rating all up
Basically it's really shiny Platemail, with a really awesome helmet

The sword of Aeons is the best because it is a light weapon and can swing twice as fast (not literally) than the Solus greatsword

You are all wrong I have beat the game many times, you guys are right no armoru is better than Archons Battle armour or full Bright/Dark Platemail with the Helmets. But the best weapon in Fable is the Sword of Aeons which has 500 damage but in TLC it only has 250 if you want the best sword you must get any amount of silver keys ( i'd suggest you get all 30 so you can open all the chests first.) and give them to the demon door in necropolis you with get a sword that if you put 2 piecrcing aguments on it it will have 365 damage making it the best.

thats bull i have both fable and fable tlc and the sword of aeons has 250 damage in both games. and the sword in the chest your talking about can't be augmented without having a modded xbox. the strongest unfortunately is the solus greatsword.

I've beaten TLC several times, and I'm not sure how, but I got the sword of Aeons with 500 damage. But every other time I've beaten it, it only does 250 damage. I'm guessing it has something to do with the alignment... Or maybe it's a glitch?

The Sword of Aeons power depends on how evil you are, as for the strongest weapon I've found it was the Solus Greatsword. The Best Armour is Archons.

The best armor is Archons battle armor. The best sword is the bereaver. It does the same damage as the solus greatsword but it has two free augmentation slots unlike the greatsword which only has one free spot because the other is already taken up. You can find the sword in the Necropolis. Make sure you have unlocked all the silver chests before you do this though because the demon door guarding the sword asks for all your silver keys.

The solus greatsword has no augmentations if you get it from lady gray, so it is best.

The best sword is the dragon soul sword (350) damage can be bought in north bowerstone. The best armor is Arch's battle armor found in Necropolis silver chest (25 keys)

The Solus Greatsword is the best weapon because the Bereaver with 2 piercing augmentations does do more damage to minions and trolls than the Solus Greatsword but only those.Of course you could just slap a different
Augment on the Bereaver or even two but you could just put the same one on the Solus Greatsword so the Solus Greatsword would still be stronger.
So basically it depends what kind of enemy but the Solus Greatsword can do more damage than the Bereaver to a larger amount of enemies than the Bereaver so basically the Solus Greatsword is better.


(BTW I'm talking about the lost chapters not the original fable besides this is found in Fable THE LOST CHAPTERS question is it not?)

I havent played for very long, but i personally think the archons armor with the solus greatsword does a fine job, but then again i havent played very long so i could be missing out on something.

Ok... to sum it all up for all you guys, it's more or less like this. People have different tastes and preferences to the things they like or dislike. the same could be said with weapons and armor. others like light blades which depend on speed for attack and others refer to slower swords with whoop ass damage. If any of you prefer avo's tear, sword of Aeons and etc. well, light blades are for you types of people. Those that refer to heavier damage, Big swords like solus and bearever are for you guys. As for me? I'd prefer the pick hammer, not that it doesn't do a lot of damage, but just cause it looks good. I'm fine with the assassin's fire suit than arkhon's cause it matches with my weap. See? people have diff. preferences. only mine's over rated.

I honestly don't know what sword is the best, I came to this forum hoping I would find people at a basic agreement on what weapon is the best. I am now throughly confused. I don't even know if some of these weapons are available in the original Fable.

I'm getting th sword of Aeons and buying the Solus Greatsword.

Fuck it. Make life easier.

I agree with the comment that said i'm confused because, i am too!!!Really i thought it would just be only like two different answers but no,its like everyone is arguing about it i am mad right now.For Fable 3 I have a weapon and it is mallet's mallet and it has 116 damage if you have it on lvl 5 so there thats my weapon im wearin rite now.

just so you know im talking FTLC not original, yes the solus greatsword does do the highest damage but it is a heavy weapon,the sword of aeon's and avo's tear are better because even tho they do about 70 less damage they swing 2X faster because they are light weapons, two hits from sword of aeon's or avo's tear is better then 1 from solus greatsword and for armor archons battle armor is the best, it is a 25 silver key chest in the necropolis, and i dont play on xbox so i dont have the extra augments on the bereaver or else that would be the best, hope i cleared up some issues. this is just my personal opinion everyone is entitled to use what every armor/weapon combo they like.

I think the best sword is the avo's tear because it hit 2x faster than solus greatsword and the best armor is archons battle armour (it rating is 1109)

based on stats archons battle armour is THE BEST in the lost chapters better than any other armour
as for melee weapons its all really personal taste for example solus does have higher damage but slower than avo or aeons...u can hit the enemy about 2-3 times the time it takes to hit it with solus but your doing 250each hit so do the math...solus has wider range though so you can hit multiple, and skorms bow is the best for bows..i dont use crossbows tooo slow for me

For best armour it would have to be the Archon's Battle set, but it's really up to you.


Avo's Tear is equal to the Sword of Aeons in very single way. Even augments. Again, I prefer the Solus(Which is actually about 2.6x slower than the Tear/Aeons, but what gives? :D) because it has longer reach and can hit more enemies with one swing. Many, many more enemies.

Aeons is about two enemies.
With the Solus I've hit and killed about seven undead in one.

For training the Tear and the Sword of Aeons are better, though, as they have experience augments.

Solus greatsword, skorms bow and archons armor
If your like me and beat the game several times and gotten everything get a pc version mod it and rack up the damage to your favorite weapon. You can also make custom tattoos etc etc makes game more interesting

I JUST FOUND A NEW SWORD. haha don't know if u knew about this. its called the bereaver! it has a tribal flame shape. I found a magic door that wanted all of my silver keys. I only had 3 so I gave him them. when I went in there was this little beach with only one chest. the augments are flame and sharp. damage is 285, but it is a two handed. the magic door is in Necropolis. same place you do the mission for scythe.

the sword of aeons is the best weapon in the game 550 damage plus augmentations that are the same with solus greatsword, murren greathammer, and another that i forgot. Getting it disables your chance of getting avo's tear that has the same augments as the sword but only half the damage (230). The solus greatsword does 315 damage with less augments than the sword of aeons...

Ok my opinion after reading all these comments is: The sword of Aeons/Avo's tear are the best light swords and are great if you want to rack up experience, the Solus Greatsword is the best heavy sword though since it is about two times slower but can hit many enemies in one go I prefer the Solus over Avo's/Aeons. The frying pan that you find after you have collected all the treasure clues is only really good if you fill all the slots with mana if you use magic ALOT, health if you need to heal quickly and have no potions or mana or experience augmentations. As for ranged weapons i prefer Skorm's Bow the best but if you equip a Master Crossbow with 3 sharpening Augmentations it is stronger but also slower.

This might have already been answered,but the best weapon is the Soulus Greatsword,it can almost 1-hit kill most enemies,but with the Damage bunk in TLC,it still does massive damage,as for the armor, its the Archon Battle Armor,found in the 30 key chest in Necropolis,But honestly,The weapon i use the most has to be the Legendary GreatAx(The one that looks similar to the one your mom has on her statue) and as for Armor....i tend to change it a lot..

Best weapon, according to damage is Solus greatsword

And according to augmentation/speed is Avo's Tear/Sword of Aeons

Best Bow is Skorm's Bow.. You can have it by sacrificing 2 people in Chappel of Skorm at midnight (this is very crucial) if you are very good.. But if you are very evil.. You need to sacrifice a lot more than that..

Ps: it's even better than the best Crossbow (Arken's crossbow, which can be found in silver chest in front of that whorehouse.. Bordello or something) in the game..

Best armor is Arkon's Battle Armor.. No doubts on that..

But I generally use Murren Greathammer.. Makes me look manlier XD

I have created a few special weapons..

Sword of Thunder(The Thundervolt):
Master Greatsword (with 3 lightning augmentation)

(great against human opponents(bandits/guards and hobbes etc)

Axe of Flame (The Fiery Soul):
Master Greataxe (with 3 flame augmentation)

(great against minions/undeads)

Hammer of Silver (The Hard Justice):
Master Greathammer (with 3 silver augmentation)

(great against undeads and balverines)

Mace of Piercing (The Damnation):
Master Greatmace (with 3 piercing augmantation)

(great against trolls and final bosses eg: Kraken/Thunder/Whisper)

*** As the game is very easy (gold quest wise)
So their is no necessity of making those custom weapons.. Only point is to have some with cool animation.. Like flames coming from axe/lightning coming out of sword

But the hammer and mace is effective.. Almost every undead will die in 1 hit/ and armor reduction that is given by the piercing augmentation is helpful against bosses and trolls

Ok heres the deal XD, The sword of Aeons personally is one of my favorites in the game, However the Solus Greatsword is usually the strongest in the game, But there is a small chance that the sword you get from the last demon door, that takes all your silver keys "The Bereaver" my absolute fave (it looks like the bandit general sword) will do almost 30 more damage than the Solus Greatsword. And sometimes it will also glitch and give you 3 extra augmentation slots.

I am playing through the game my second time, as evil this time, and have bought the solus. Sometimes when I am attacking, it only hits for 10! And cannot even break barrels! Is this a massive glitch?

In TLC, the best melee weapon is the Solus Greatsword or Bereaver, personally, I have both. The best armour is the Archon's Battle Armour. In Fable, the best melee weapon is the Sword of Aeons, and the best armour is either of the three platemails one of the two alignment helmets (Daemon's or Angelic). The best ranged weapon in both vanilla Fable and TLC is Skorm's Bow.

I will keep this plain and simple: The best weapon in Fable: TLC is the Sword of Aeons whilist the best armor set is the Archon's Battle Armor set.

Sword of aeons and avo's tear is the best sword even solus has a great damage. The Aeons and avos has a argumentation of health and mana plus experience. Example if you hit me using your solus great sword 50% of our life was drained but if I hit you (2x faster) unsing aeons or avos I think 35% of your life will drained also. But my life and mana and xp will incresed 2x faster. So think of it guys.

I have Played Fable 1 and lost chapters Many many times in fact I can play it through twice a day (Including maxing out hero)

The Archon platnium plate mail armour is easily the best, looks the same but is more then 150 points more protective, then any of the other plate mails (Including Holy or demon Helm).

Solus Great Sword 314 Damage (Two Handed, Twice as slow then a one handed weapon)

Avos tier 230 Damage (moves twice as fast so 460 Damage in comparision to a two handed weapon)

The Sword of Aeons 250 Damage (Moves twice as fast so 500 Damage incomparision)

The Bereaver 285 Damage (Two Handed, Twice as slow then a one handed weapon. But you can augement it to do more damage.

But there is no need to argue and the fact is they all kill real good but from a Impartual, Logical Perspective the sword of Aeons is the best It does 500 damage in the time Solus Does 314, thems the facts people, persolly I think the Cutless looks the best but is weak as P!55 :(

I have a Master Greatsword with Piercing augmentation, Flame augmentation and lightning augmentation and it hits 347 normal and 500 flourish so I like it best.

I think the solus greatsword is the best and the best armor is archon's armor which you can get at the necropolis for 25 silver keys

In fable tlc it's archons armor I think thats name it's in chest and best wep is sword of aeaons or avos tear they might both be same btw theres a mpore damage oen but it's slower

Its easily the solus greatsword. Would you you like to swing fast to go berserk with multistrike hitting up to I've seen 3k damage.. People are stupid sayin faster is better with berserk the are on the ground anyways so faster means nothing if you want to do any damage.. As with armor it's useless so use what looks cool you have physical shield level 4 unless you are a noob.. So 500 mana pots and you're invincable either way.

Guys!!! Fable tlc is on Xbox and on PC , on PC is Solus Greatsword the best and on Xbox is Sword of Aeons the best. On Xbox is Dark/Bright platemail the best but on the PC is Archon`s battle armour the best. Crazy huh? I knew it from myself when I was 7 years old...(Now I'm 12) (Cool huh? I played Fable already while I was years :D)

If you play fable the lost chapters then the best weapon is the Solus Greatsword,which can be found at the general store in bowerstone north, the best armour in the game is the archons armour,found in necropolice, the ghost town in the northern wastes. I don't know about the original fable though.

Its the archons armor and solus great sword
although avos tear or sword of aeons are alot faster

The solus greatsword is not the best. It is the bereaver it has damage of 285 BUT if you add two sharpening auguments the sword then has damage of 345 while the solus greatsword has damage of 314 . If you are following this then go to the demon door in the necropolis and choose wisely for it will ask you for all of you're silver keys in you're possession then if you get it REMEMBER ADD TWO SHARPENING AUGUMENTS!!!!!!!

The best armor in the game is archons battle armor

The best weapon in the game is the solus greatsword if you get it from lady grey it has no augments in it so if you put 3 sharping augmentations in it becomes the best weapon in the game (if you buy from bowerstone north shop and put 1 sharping augment it becomes tied with with the (bereaver with 2 sharping in it)

The best armor is archons battle armor

The best weapon is solus greatsword if you get from lady grey it has no augments in it if you put 3 sharping augmentations it becomes the most powerful weapon in the game even more powerful than bereaver with 2 sharping augments in it

The best weapon in the game is drawn between the Sword of Aeons and Avo's Tear. It is a fact that they are superior to everything else in the weapon's department. I don't deny that the Solus Greatsword is more damaging, but it is incredibly slow, and is not as powerful as either.

The best armour in the game is the Archon's Battle Armour. This is another fact.

The best weapon imo, would have to be Skorm's Bow on account of the fact that it can hit for over 1000 damage fully charged in one hit and can one-hit most creatures with the Multi Arrow spell, and the best armor is the Archon's Battle Armour in the Graveyard near Snowspire Village

Ok listen people. The Solus greatsword is by far the best. If you look at it from the perspective that every melee combat skill is maxed (including multistrike and berserk) you swing so fast it doesnt matter, and if you use multistrike in between each attack, say you have 3 sharpening on solus and your fighting jack the dragon. One reg hit while berserk will do well over 1300 dmg multistrike hits 5 times for about 1k each. 5k damage in one swing x about 10 swings of him being down and hes already almost dead. Fighting minions and stuff 2 hits from solus and they are dead. Anything like undead and bandits etc die instantly. Short explanation: Solus is better. As explained earlier in this thread, the archons armor is the highest value, but then again jack as dragon is the only thing that hurts you endgame anyways and his bite is instant kill no matter how much armor/health you have. So guys, stop arguing, go berserk, and use solus.

This is for Fable: The Lost Chapters

Best Armor: Arkon's Platinum Battle Armor. (25 Silver Key Chest in Necropolis. Armor Rating 1109. No questions asked, this is the best.)

Best Weapon: Skorm's Bow. (You get this by sacrificing a follower [Hired Mercenary] at The Chapel of Skorm. You have to sacrifice at the right time of day and get at least +600 evil to receive the bow. It can in-defiantly charge up, so theoretically you can one-hit killing anything. General shooting is around 600-1000 per shot. But if you use Multi-Shot, you get about 1500-2000 per shot.) *Try using Multi-Shot and Slow Time. Its so overpowered, I beat the Arena and both Jacks taking no damage at all*

Best Sword: Sword of Aeons . (You receive this at the end game of Fable, and you kill your sister to keep it. [Or glitch to keep it and save your sister. Save when you have the sword, then load your game.] Does 250 base damage, but is twice as fast as Solus Greatsword, so does 500 damage versus 314 damage)

NOTE: If you use the spell Beserk, Solus Greatsword does more damage-per-second versus the Sword of Aeons.

may i say that the skorms bow if charged for up to 5 mins it can kill anything in one arrow without multi arrow i killed a rock troll with one arrow in fable normal version and i did 3000 damage

Yea the solus is the best and idk what armor is the best but the solus has over 300 damage where as no other sword in the game has it I have the swords of aeons and it has 250 damage. I also like how this convo has been going on for five years.

Omfg the best weapons are skorms bow solus greatsword and the sword of aeons the best armor archons battle armor the only way to get the soa is to kill your sister in normal fable it has 550 damage in tlc it has 250 now if you don't kill your sister the best weapon is the solus greatsword but to get it at it's strongest get 50000 to 70000 gold so you can buy it at the shop in bowerstone north now skorms bow which is a ranged weapon is the best in both games because if you charge it up long enough you can kill anything instantaneously and archons battle armor has 1109 armor so there you go the truth

It depends on if you like more power or faster speed, sword of Aeons(230)/ Avos Tear(230) have the same attributes: health, mana and exp augments.But the Solus Greatsword is heavier but it has 314 attack so... Your call
