You have too go to special sites and download a special mod called hero editor so you can make a hacked character on open battle net.

Ok, to hack (or mod) items, you need to be on Open Battle.net This will not work on regular Battle.net. Anyway... Find a hero editor. Then edit your characters' level, then items. Remember this only works with single-player characters.

I'm assuming by crafting you mean making the item's name appear in orange, there are many recipes for making crafted items, I suggest you paste this into your brower, and have a look. http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/crafteditems.shtml
And hacking can be done with hero editor (commonly referred to as ZonFire), which I said the location of in two other questions.
