Well, in the screen where you choose all of the settings for the game it has team numbers. You can change your team number to whatever and then change the other civilization numbers to whatever. You can have however many allies as you want. I hope I helped,

If you don't want to choose the teams your self you could give the player some gold or stone and set your stance to neutral and don't attack them.
