  In order to pull off a successful heist in Payday 3 it is essential that you communicate with your crewmates. Before you attempt a heist your team needs to know who is spotting guards and cameras, who is picking locks, and what to do when the alarm is raised.

  Communication becomes crucial when it comes to keycards and other mission items as they can only be used by the player that picked them up. Even if you don't have a mic you can still contact your crewmates using emotes and pings to give basic information.

  Securing all the loot on a heist is not easy, it requires a lot of things to fall in place and more importantly, if you stay too long it will likely result in failure. The best strategy is to secure the minimum required amount of loot, unlock the escape route, and then assess the situation. If it looks like it will be risky staying to secure more loot you should make the decision to escape. Remember, you get nothing if the heist fails.

• Have a Contingency Plan

  Make sure when you plan your heist you strategize different escape routes, utilizing specialized tools or equipment, or coordinating backup options with teammates. It is crucial that you have a contingency plan in place so you can adapt and overcome unexpected challenges that may arise during the heist.

• Hidden Rewards

  Check out anything you come across that looks out of place as there is a possibility that it conceals a secret, hidden route, or Easter egg. Keep in mind that most of the heists in Payday 3 have hidden passcodes and hints hiding in plain sight so keep an eye out for them as well and use them on subsequent runs to make them go smoother.

• Tie Up Hostages

  The moment an alarm goes off during a heist you need to stop what you are doing and tie up as many civilians as possible to use as hostages. You only get one chance at this because anyone you don't subdue will flee to safety at the first opportunity.

  A good strategy once you have tied up your hostages is to release at least one of them during the Negotiation Phase in order to gain an extra 10 seconds. This extra time can then be used to prepare your defenses against the inevitable police assault, breach security, and move the remaining hostages to a safe place.
