Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a 2D video game exclusively for Xbox One and PC that falls into the Metroidvania subgenre of multidirectional scrolling platformers. It is a direct sequel to the 2015 title Ori and the Blind Forest. You play as Ori, a white guardian spirit and your objective is to progress through the game solving puzzles. The game's story is centered on an adventure to discover the world beyond the forest of Nibel, uncover the truths of the lost ones, and unearth Ori's true destiny.
Collect Spirit Light Orbs
The main currency of Ori and the Will of the Wisps is Spirit Light Orbs so make sure as you progress through the game you collect as many as you can as having lots of them will help with buying Spirit Shard upgrades.
Buy the Maps from Lupo
Find the bug-like NPC called Lupo whenever you enter a new area and pay the required amount of Spirit Light Orbs for the map he sells. This map will help with navigation by fully revealing the entire area you are in and showing you the location of collectables. There are a total of 9 maps to buy.
Find Hidden Pathways
Keep an eye out for glowing areas in the scenery, such as twig blockades or crumbling walls, as attacking them will open up new hidden pathways that will allow you to unlock new secrets.
Reveal Hidden Platforms
Jump towards pitch black areas whenever you encounter them as there is always the possibility that they will reveal hidden platforms that contain secret items.
Replenish your Health
Jump on the green flower plants that glow with light that hang down from high areas as doing so will produce a healing orb that will help replenish your health. These plants will eventually respawn enabling you to return to the area for more healing.
Avoid Water
Unless you have no other choice you should avoid swimming in dark water as doing so will dmamage Ori's health. It is important that you stay away from the yellow and bubbling water just before the entrance to Mount Horu as this will cause Ori to die instantly if he touches it.
Use the Environment
During combat look for ways that you can use the environment to help you. Knocking most enemies into spikes or water can deal lots of damage to them.
Participate in Speed Trials
Spirit Trials are optional challenges apart from the main story that will enable you to win Spirit Light by beating other players and claiming a top score. Spirit Light can be accumulated and spent at the Wellspring Glades NPC hub.
