Welcome, FAQer's best friend. You are the reader. Without you, this would be a
meaningless experience for me. This is my latest FAQ for a remake of everyone's
favorite game, Super Mario 64. Super Mario 64 DS was the reason I even bought a
DS. I was feeling Nostalgic and decided to buy one for this. I used to rent the
old version on the N64. It was incredible. This FAQ is designed to show you the
easiest way to get all the 150 Stars. 30 more than the old ones. As well as
a few new maps. Plus, three more characters!

Super Mario 64 DS is about Princess Peach inviting Mario to the castle for some
cake. He shows up with his brother, Luigi and his rival, Wario. They run to the
castle to get some nummy cake :D. Lakitu the camera man gets worried when they
don't return. He talks to Yoshi, who is dazing on the roof, then finds himself
on the ground. You gain control of Yoshi and begin your assault on the
Mushroom Castle!

There are a number of glitches in this game. Not as many that are useful like
they were in Super Mario 64, but there are indeed, some other glitches that can
be found at the bottom section. Check them out. They can be abused to fun result
and get you back into the game. There is also a walkthrough compiled for time
attack in that section.

The walkthrough and subsections are 100% written by TripleJump.
Do not steal them, or you will pay! If you have a question. Please LEGIBLY write
the email, with "Super Mario 64 DS" as the title. If your email has poor grammar
or spelling, don't expect a response. I don't talk to people who type like a

Y: Run, hold this to run. If you hold it before you move you can charge a run.

Select: Change Control Sets, from Dual Mode, Standard Mode or Touch Mode.

Double Jump: Press "A" to jump, then press "A" again to do a higher jump.

Triple Jump: My username. Perform a double jump and press "A" again.

Long Jump: Run, then press R to crouch. Then press B to do a long jump. You can
do this multiple times in a row to move a lot faster than you would normally.

Backflip: Hold R, then press B. You will do a backflip. Around the same height
of a Triple Jump, only not in motion.

Belly Dive: Run, then press "A". You dive forwards and slide along the ground.
This can be used to catch rabbits or do lunging damage.

Crawl: Hold R, then move around with the control stick to crawl in tight spaces.
Not really a use in here.

Dive Kick: Run, then crouch and press A. You can slide along the ground and kick
along the floor. The same as a Belly Dive, only you cannot catch bunnies and you
will have less chance of taking damage.

Sweep Kick: Hold R and press A. This rids enemies that surround you.

Side Flip: Run one way, press the opposite direction and jump. This is the same
height as the backflip, but better for wall kicks out of it.

Wire Hang: Press "B" and jump onto a wire net (holding the button). You can hang
from the bottom of it, and climb around too.

Grab: Press "A" next to a Bob-omb enemy, or Bowser's Tail or even those wind up
things.

Throw: Press "A" after grabbing an enemy

Swimming: Press "B" to swim. Rapidly pressing this will gain speed, holding it
makes your character move at a steady pace. Pressing "A" will do an attack
swim.

Jump Kick: Jump in the air and press "A". Your character (besides Yoshi) will
kick.

Pole Climb: Jump into a pole. You can hold up and Y to climb fast, or hold down
to slide down it.

Pole Jump: Press "B" when you are on a pole. You jump in the direction your
character's back is facing.

Polestand: Hold "Up" when at the top of a pole. You can also jump out of this.

Edgegrab: Jump into an edge and the character grabs on. Press "B" or "Up" to
climb up the ledge.

Giant Character: If your character gets a mushroom, they grow super huge and can
now beat apart enemies, or merely parts of the level. For example, the lifts in
Whomp's Fortress. After 10 things are destroyed, each other thing that is busted
gives you a 1-Up. Neat!

Ground Pound: Jump in the air and press "R" to slam into the ground.

Sidling: Walk into a wall and press left or right to have your character walk
along the wall, good to get past tight situations.

YOSHI MOVESET
-------------

Yoshi has no power. As he/she cannot punch. However, does have average speed and
excellent jumping due to one of his special moves.

Enemy Swallow: Yoshi can bring enemies into his mouth of doom. Just perform a
punch nearby the enemy and he sticks his tongue out.

Egg Lay: Pressing "R" or merely waiting after an enemy is in his or her mouth
will make Yoshi swallow it, and lay an egg. The egg can be shot, and sometimes
will make the amount of coins that the enemy gives out when the egg explodes a
higher value.

Constipation Drive: Also known as that thing Yoshi does in Super Smash Bros.
Melee when he does his second jump. Yoshi makes a constipated noise and raises
into the air when you jump and hold B. Use to make extra height and distance.

Fire Breath: When Yoshi gets a Power Flower, he can shoot fire out of his mouth.
This can burn enemies to oblivion (Just like Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia,
learning to summon).

MARIO MOVESET
-------------

Mario is an average of every area. Speed, Power and Jump. He has some good
skills that will really help you.

Wall Jump: Jump into a wall and press "A". You jump away from the wall by
kicking off. You can use this to gain slight height, and if you are with two
parallel walls, you can jump back and forth between the two to reach the top.

Float: If you get a Power Flower from the red box, Mario blows into a giant air
puff. You can move up by pressing "A" and float around. If you bump something,
you will move around a lot and lose the straight movement you want. So avoid it.
There is no limit to the number of "B"s you can press, but you are timed.

Wing Cap: Getting a feather from the red box will make Mario have a hat that can
fly. Get shot out of a cannon or perform a Triple Jump to take flight. Moving
down, then pulling up will raise the height you are on.

LUIGI MOVESET
-------------

Luigi has little power, but excels greatly in Jumping. With average speed. Just
like a Yoshi that can punch. He has some good skills too.

Scuttling: In midair, hold run and Luigi will start to run in midair, this will
build up speed for when you land, and start running.

Helicopter Flip: Doing a normal backflip with Luigi will have him spin like a
helicopter, decreasing the time of his fall and allowing you to go farther and
higher.

Water Dash: Use the "Y" button and run from solid land onto water to run on the
surface for a few seconds. Never really had a use in my game...

Invisiblity: Get a Power Flower and Luigi will turn invisible. In this mode he
can not be affected by enemies, most of them anyway. He can also move through
fences and gates that are normally solid.

WARIO MOVESET
-------------

Wario is a big fat man. As most big fat men, he is not very fast. He has almost
no speed or jump. However, this guy is like a tank. He can beat apart the black
bricks that nobody else can. Incredible!

Wario Bulk: Wario can bash open the black crates, or ground pound through ice
even ;)

Flinging Swing of Doom!: In VS mode, grab hold of an enemy and move the control
pad around and around to build up momentum, then press "A" again to throw them
away.

Metal Head: If Wario gets a Power Flower, he turns into a metal man. He can
walk along the floor of a water level and not drown, he can also be unaffected
by other enemies, and beat them apart by touching them.

A Note about this walkthrough, this doesn't give each level's walkthrough in
each section. It gives you the order you should do them in as though a player is
trying to complete the game start to finish. If you want a specific stage
walkthrough, please go to the "Stage Specific Walkthrough".

This walkthrough may also contain some trickier stunts to do certain stars
without using the normal way. These stunts are NOT glitches and you may not be
able to perform them well enough.

Castle Grounds
--------------

At the start of the game, watch the nice cutscene with some pretty good music
too. Mario and Company run into the castle. Then Lakitu wakes Yoshi up. You now
have control of him. Run up the hills to the castle doors. Try to open it (by
walking into it). It is locked. Move away from the door onto the bridge. Lakitu
says that he saw a rabbit with a door key. Go to the right (following the map)
to find the rabbit. You have to catch it. So run around and use the tongue to
get him in. Then he gives you the key. So go back to the door and open it.

Mushroom Castle
---------------

Bowser yells at you from somewhere. Take the path to the left and over to the
door with a star on it, but no number. Enter this. There is a painting here.
Jump into it to enter the first level, Bob-Omb Battlefield.

Select Course One. We'll do this course itself later. But we will do Course #7
for now.

Course #7: Behind Chain Chomp's Gate
------------------------------------

You start the level by Lakitu telling you about the Bob-Omb buddies. Ignore him
and run over to the bridge up the mountain. Go left around the lifts and look
at Chain Chomp. He is chained to a pole. Run over to that pole and ground pound
it three times. The Chain Chomp is freed and will now bust the gate open. The
Power Star remains behind it. Collect it. Back at the Painting, jump back in.

Course #6: Find the 8 Red Coins
-------------------------------
Enter Course #7 this time, then talk to the Bob-Omb Buddy to open the Cannons.

From the entrance, run up the bridge you went to last time. Instead of going
around the lifts, long jump over them to get a Red Coin. Go to the area to the
right of the last star. There is a white mound going up. Run up this and get the
coin from the top. After you are back down, run to Chain Chomp. Get the Red Coin
from on top of his peg that is holding him down. Run over to the bridge that
tilts. Jump onto the land, then head left. There are four pegs, two red coins
and a blue star on the ground. The blue star shows where the Red Coin star
appears.

Move back towards the caged area by the mountain side. On the bridge to the
place, fall off to the left. Hit the Red Switch to open the gate under the
bridge. Inside is a Red coin. Get it and come back up the hill the way you came.
Now go over the bridge. There is a path left and a path up the mountain. Hold
Y to run on the spot, then hold Y and forwards to dash up the hill. Keep going
and eventually you get the coin at the top. Walk down the mountain to the next
cannon that is available for use. Shoot up at the Island in the sky. Aim so that
you grab the tree. Climb to the top and handstand to get the coin. The Power
Star will appear. So go over to the blue part and get the star. Re-enter the
Course. Course #1 this time, if you please.

Course #1: Big Bob-omb on the Summit
------------------------------------

We have to run up the hill and over the bridge. Go around or over the lifts and
past the Chain Chomp's to the bridge. Go over this bridge and over to the caged
area. Run to the right instead of straight up the mountain this time. There is
a large pit with a few giant cannonballs rolling around. Avoid them and go up
the mountain. Some will be rolling down at you. Ignore anything and just keep
moving towards the top of the mountain. Until you see a cave like thing in the
wall that boulders are coming from. Go inside and wait a few seconds not
touching anything. You will warp.

You are now at the summit. Jump to the top to find Big Bob-omb. He talks to you
for a bit, now you must fight him. He throws the smaller Bob-ombs at you. Scoop
one up and run over to him and shoot it at him by spitting it back out with
A. If it hits him, he takes a hit. Try to stay on the mountainside, otherwise
you have to restart the battle. If you can hit him thrice without dieing, he
gives in and gives you a power star. Collect it, merci.

---------------

Exit the room with the painting in it. Back in the entrance hall, run up the
stairs and to the door to the right with the star that says "1" on it. Inside,
run over to the right and the Princess Peach picture. Jump inside it. You are
at Princess Peach's Secret Slide.

-----------------------------

Run over to the edge and slide down the hill. Try to keep from falling off the
edges. Make your way to the bottom of the track. After you make it to the bottom
of the hill, hit the box. This makes a Power Star come out. Collect it if you
would. Now come back into the slide room and take it again.

This time, we are trying to get it so that we complete it in under 21 seconds.
Holding Up and going down the entire track will work. But the best way is to
slide down, then when you reach the first part where it goes steep with barriers
(ASCII below), you jump over it about 1-2 seconds past the bump where it changes
steepness. You land on the track below, from there, hold forwards to the end.
If you do it in 21.00 seconds or less, a Power Star appears. Collect it, n'est
ce pas.

From where you end off, go back up to the room with the slide. Do not enter the
slide portrait however. Go in the double door at the end. This is Peach's Rec
Room. Go in the portrait to the left to enter Sunshine Isles.

Sunshine Isles
--------------

Super Mario Sunshine music, stylin. You have to collect all 5 Silver Stars.
Run left, the first one is in the claws of Klepto, the giant bird. Jump at the
star to make him drop it, then run into it to collect it. Run around the giant
island and in a cave in the back is the next one. Climb to the top of the island
to get the next one. Now there are some islands surrounding the area. Use the
touch screen map to find them. Some are located in trees ;). Now that you have
them all, the crystal gem at the start has a star in it. Run into it to break it
open.

Back at the ranch, go into the second door on the right from the stairs in the
entrance hall. This has a "1" on the door. Enter and hop in the painting at the
end.

Course #1: Chip off Whomp's Block
---------------------------------

The Lakitu Bros. give you a useless update. Climb up the block, then backflip
or double jump up to the above level. You will be on a path leading diagonally
up with Yellow lines painted on it. Run up this. You are at a rather roomy area
with a slope on the right. Look over at the fence on the other side. Get a
running start and long jump over to there. You should just make it over the
fence. From there, use the lift to the top. Whomp will be there. Stand in front
of him to trigger the fight.

You have to charge a run up, then when he jumps, DASH out of the way. He hits
the ground and you can jump on his back and Ground Pound it. Repeat this process
three times to have him give you his Power Star. Cool deal. Reenter this level
and choose course 2.

Course #2: To the Top of the Fortress
-------------------------------------

Climb up the block, then backflip or double jump up to the above level. You will
be on a path leading diagonally up with Yellow lines painted on it. Run up this.
You are at a rather roomy area with a slope on the right. Look over at the fence
on the other side. Get a running start and long jump over to there. You should
just make it over the fence. From there, use the lift to the top. At the top,
climb onto one of the lower platforms

Make your way up the platforms. Every second one moves. The last one will move
up when you step on it. Jump onto the circular tower and walk right towards the
Power Star. We now have enough to get Mario.

Walk into the room with Sunshine Isles. Take the 8 Star door at the back of the
room. Jump into the Mario Painting.

Big Goomboss Battle
-------------------

Alright. Basically, slide down the chute and run over to the other side of the
map from where you start. There should be a pole going up. Climb to the top and
jump on the platform. Go up the bridge to the right and to the back. Refill your
life at the heart if needed and jump in the hole at the end.

You now are fighting the Goomboss. Wait for him to poop some Goombas. Jump
around him by means of constipating over the poison pool. Swallow a Goomba and
turn him into an egg. Shoot him at the Goomboss, then quickly get another and
turn it into an egg. Back away and he will get bigger and follow you. Shoot the
egg at him, then when he is paused, go around to the other side and stomp on
the Goombas he has already laid. Get one and turn it into an egg. Kill him with
the last egg and you win. Get the Red Key that he drops.

Go back into Princess Peach's Slide Portrait room. Go over to the door with the
giant "M" over it. You now turn into Mario. Leave the room and head to
Whomp's Fortress.

Course #3: Shoot Into the Wild Blue
-----------------------------------

Okay, so go up to the place we went to before. Only instead of going up the
slanted platform, go into the water area to the left. Run to the back and talk
to Bob-Omb buddy. He opens the cannon. We do not need it, however. Run to the
bottom of the part with the Blue Coin Switch. There is a platform above you.
Run to the right, then do a side flip, then a wall kick to the platform. Then
walk to the star. If you cannot do this, use the cannon and blast to the pole in
the middle of the platform.

Course #6: Blast Away the Wall
------------------------------

So walk over to the Cannon we opened last stage. Then get inside. Look at the
two brick walls to the right. The furthest one has a crack in the top corner.
Shoot for that, and if you hit it, it shatters. You fall down to the ground.
Then a Power Star appears. Go back to the cannon and aim slightly above the star
to hit it and collect it.

Course #5: Fall Onto the Caged Island
-------------------------------------

This level is easier than the one we just did, so enjoy it. Climb up the tree at
the start of the level to the left. Around the top of it, an owl comes out. Go
jump up to the talons of the owl to fly around. Move it towards the caged island
to the right. Fall onto it and go inside the cage to get the Power Star.

Course #7: Switch Star of the Fortress
--------------------------------------

Almost as easy as course 6, but slightly more difficult. Instead of going up the
level (as we normally did). Head right along the grass path. Then left. Jump
over the fence to the grass area with the parallel walls. Inside one of the gaps
is a couple Red Boxes. Punch this, you find a star shaped switch. Step on it. A
Power Star appears. Run all the way (use the touch screen map) to it. Touch the
crystal to smash it open and claim this star.

Course #4: Red Coins on the Floating Isle
-----------------------------------------

Okay, so jump up the place we normally go, but instead of the slanted path,
go right, just below it and along the dirt path. Do some fancy jumping to get
the first red coin above the pushing rock structures. Move along to the area
with the red box, the red bricks and the Thwomps. Face the second Thwomp. When
it goes down, jump on it. Then jump again to collect the red coin when the
Thwomp is at it's height. Get to the top of the stairs. Remember where we used
to long jump from to get to the other side? Don't.

Go up and left. Sidle past the first Piranha Plant and get the red coin behind
him. Now sidle along the wall towards the other plant and get the red coin
there. Beat the Piranha plant before he wakes up. Now wait for the wooden
platform to move so that you can walk on it. Move to the center of it. When the
platform has gone under the triangular thing, move forwards. Travel all the way
around and stand around halfway from the center to the edge. You should collect
a red coin on the way around. Now slide down the side of the platform. Go back
to the start of the level.

Run around the grass part of the level. You will find one red coin in a flower
bed. Try to long jump to it so you don't risk injuring yourself by hitting the
Piranha Plants hidden there. Now we turn around and go back to the tree at the
start of the level. Get the Owl out and jump into his talons. Float to the
islands in the sky, but not the one with the power star. The first and the last
one both have a red coin in each. Now after you get this one, the Power Star
appears in between the poles at grass level. So go down and collect it.

100 Coin Power Star of the Fortress
-----------------------------------

Alright. When we start, run up the platform and onto the long yellow arrowed
path. Get the coins on it, then drop into the water area. Get the two circles
of coins. Now move towards the cannon. Get the line of coins adjacent to it.
Then go down to the bottom. Killing the Goombas and getting their coin's. Now
ground pound the blue coin box below the "Shoot into the Wild Blue" star. Get
the four blue coins that appear. Thats about 33 coins. Go back to the start.

Jump up the place we normally go, but instead of the slanted path,
go right, just below it and along the dirt path. Do some fancy jumping to get
the first red coin above the pushing rock structures. Move along to the area
with the red box, the red bricks and the Thwomps. Face the second Thwomp. When
it goes down, jump on it. Then jump again to collect the red coin when the
Thwomp is at it's height. Go down and break all the boxes to get some coins
there.

Get to the top of the stairs. Remember where we used to long jump from to get
to the other side? Don't.

Go up and left. Kill the first Piranha Plant (get the blue coin it drops)
and get the red coin behind him. Now sidle along the wall towards the other
plant and get the red coin there. Beat the Piranha plant before he wakes up.
Now wait for the wooden platform to move so that you can walk on it. Move to the
center of it. When the platform has gone under the triangular thing, move
forwards. Travel all the way around and stand around halfway from the center to
the edge. You should collect a red coin on the way around, as well as a bunch of
coins.. Now slide down the side of the platform. Go back to the start of the
level.

Run around the grass part of the level. You will find one red coin in a flower
bed. Try to long jump to it so you don't risk injuring yourself by hitting the
Piranha Plants hidden there. Kill them one by one and get the blue coins they
drop. Now go back to the part with the poles in the ground and pound them to
get 5 or so coins from each.

Now we turn around and go back to the tree at the start of the level. Get the
Owl out and jump into his talons. Float to the islands in the sky, but not the
one with the power star. There are a LOT of coins here. As well as two red coins
to beef your coins up. You should have gotten at least 100 coins by now. Get
the star and select "Exit Course".

Okay, so we have 14 stars or so now, right? That's enough to open the Bowser
fight. But there is around 18 more to collect before that ;). So go into Bob-Omb
Battlefield.

Course #2: Footrace with Koopa the Quick
----------------------------------------

For the race, the flying cap and the cannon are out of bounds. So don't even
try, or you redo the level. The warp is fine, however.

Okay, so when you enter (as Mario), run over to the giant Koopa. Talk to him
from the bridge side. This gives you an advantage in an already easy level. He
challenges an out of shape Mario to a race! Accept. Then when it starts, do some
long jumps up the bridge, then over to the Chain Chomp area. Keep going and run
into the area that leads up the mountain. Make your way up. At the warp, use it.
Now jump to the top and run to the flag. You should be 10-15 seconds ahead of
him. You can sometimes see him on the way up by pausing the game. To kill time,
try some Handstand leaps from the top of the flagpole.

When he gets up, talk to him. He is amazed at your speed and rewards you with
his Power Star. So collect it. Don't reenter the painting yet.

Mushroom Castle
---------------

Go into the main entrance hall. Stand on the sun carpet near the exit. Use X
and look at the sun at the roof. This lets you in the Tower of the Red Switch
level. First, just fly down on top of the tower and hit the switch. This will
trigger the red blocks in every level. Cool. Now reenter the Tower of the Red
Switch as you exit with "Exit Course".

In this next round, fly left towards the Red Coins in the ring of coins. Don't
move up and down, just straight at it. Collect all four of them in the spiral to
make a star appear in the Tower. Land and get the Power Star. Cool! Reenter
Bob-Omb Battlefield.

Course #3: 5 Silver Stars!

This level is like Sunshine Isles. You must collect the five "Silva Starz". Move
forwards, the first one is in the tree. Now go up the bridge. In the area to
right of the Chain Chomp's normal area is the Chain Chomp. Off his pole running
around free. There is a Silver Star at the edge of his chain. Run after him and
touch the Star in the chain to get the second Star. Run past the old location of
the Chomp and over the bridge. Go left and walk over to the flowerbed area. The
Silver Star is located in the Goomba enemy. Defeat him to have him drop it. Now
head to the spot to the right of where you are now. This is the location of the
next Star. Collect it.

Now head up the mountain. Move along the ball rolling way. If you see a Goomba
enemy, defeat it. As the last one is in the paws of one. It should be near a
red brick box I believe. After you get it, use the cannon nearby to shoot
yourself towards the beginning of the level. Now walk the rest of the distance
and get the star from the Glass Enclosure that was triggered when you got the
last star.

Course #4: Big Bob-Omb's Revenge
--------------------------------

Big Bob-Omb is back and ready for action. Too bad for you, if you aren't Mario,
change into him. If you don't have him and do not have enough Stars to get him,
then you are still okay with Yoshi. You will just need to collect a Mario Cap
on the way. From the start, go up the bridge, left around the lifts and past
Chain Chomp. Go up the mountain and to the warp. If you are Mario, use the warp,
if not, go past this and kill the Goomba. One has a cap on. After you get this,
you turn into Mario. You still have the other character's voice though.

At the summit of the mountain lies Big Bob-Omb. To defeat him, we are going to
have to run around him and get to his back end. Pick it up, and throw it onto
the ground. If you toss him off the edge, he comes back up and gets mad. Throw
him on the ground three times to make him beg for mercy and give you the Power
Star.

Course #5: Mario Wings to the Sky
---------------------------------

If you haven't gotten the Cannons in this level open, do so by talking to the
Bob-Omb Buddy by the cannon right next to the start. Now run up the mountain.
But instead of going in the warp, go past it. There will be a cannon next to a
wooden plank. Hop on, then aim for the island in the sky. Shoot so that you hit
the tree to stop you from overshooting. Now get the Wing Cap from the box and
get in the cannon. Shoot towards the coin rings in front of you. You have to
get all five center coins. This may take several runs through. After you have
them all, a Power Star appears near the Red Coin pad. Fly over and collect it.

100 Coin Power Star
-------------------

As you enter, run forwards. Defeat the enemies by the bridge. Then get the row
of coins underneath it. Go up and instead of towards the Chain Chomp, go right.
Defeat the Goombas, Bob-Ombs and the Koopa. This gets you a few more coins. Now
get the Red coin from on the hill. Then the one over the lifts. Now take the one
over the Chain Chomp. If you can, run around the pole the Chomp is on to get
some more coins. But this isn't necessary. Go over to the poles next to the
Red Coin Star Location. Get the two Red coins and all the coins from the poles.
This should get you at least 30 by now.

Jump down into the area with the 1-Up, Red Coin and Switch. Hit the switch, get
the other stuff and go kill the enemies below the mountain. Now climb back up
through the opened gate and onto the bridge. Get the coins all the way up the
mountain. Ignore the Warp and get into the cannon next to the plank. Shoot to
the Island in the sky and get the coin from the tree. Now put on the Wing Cap
and collect all the coins in the sky. Or at least until the star appears. When
you have it, either hit the ground and select "Pause, Exit Course" or just go
to the Chain Chomp Gate and have him bash it open to get the star. This will
record your high score as well.

Time to start in one of the next fresh areas. Go into the door to the right of
Bob-Omb Battlefield. It has a "3" on the door. Inside should be three paintings
of Snow Scenes. As Mario, jump into the center one.

Course #1: Slip Slidin' Away
----------------------------

From the start of the level, Triple Jump up the house and into the chimney. You
appear in a Snow track. You can take one easy way, two medium ways and one hard
way through. For the easy way, make it through the track until you see a set
of coins leading into a wall. There is a secret path leading to a safe exit to
the bottom of the track. For the medium way, number one is that you just go
through the entire track as normal. The other medium way is that you jump off at
the part where you can face the entrance to the easy way. You will land and cut
a portion of the track off. The hard way is to jump from the path at the very
start and you land near the end. The only thing is, you have to jump the next
corner of the track to survive and that can be tricky.

At the bottom of the slide, go outside. A Power Star appears and is calling for
you to get it. So do just that. :)

Course #2: Lil Penguin Lost
---------------------------

There is a penguin lost in this level, it's mother is worried. You cannot do
this as Yoshi. From the start, jump to the ledge above the chimney. A penguin
is walking around to blobby noises. Pick him up and slide down the track of the
area. Now, look at the touch screen map. There is a giant snowbank below. Jump
off the edge to land at the bottom where you came out of the bottom of the snow
slide. Be sure to ground pound, so you aren't stuck in the snow for a few
seconds, which allows the baby penguin to run potentially towards the edge,
which may cause you to fall off. After you have the penguin back in your grasp,
run to the giant penguin next to the ice pool. Show it the penguin and you will
get a Power Star for returning it. Cool.

Course #3: Big Penguin Race
---------------------------

I may be wrong, but I think the penguin only races Mario. Go back down the
chimney and talk to the 'guin. He asks you if you want to race. Accept, now
listen close, and listen hard. You CANNOT use the shortcuts. No jumping off the
track to land at a lower point, no using the wall shortcut. Just a straight out
race. Which means you may have a tough race, depending on your skill level. Just
hold forward, and don't jump to get the coins. You should win by about 5-9
seconds. When the penguin comes out, DO NOT LEAVE THE HUT. Or you will have to
redo this level. When the penguin stops, talk to it and it gives you the star
in place of a gold medal.

100 Coin Power Star of the Mountain
-----------------------------------

Might as well get it now, as this is ridiculously easy. Start by jumping into
the coin trail leading to the slide. Now go down the slide, the full way.
Collecting ALL the coins. If you miss some, go to the tree outside the hut and
climb it. Get the red coin from the top of it and the owl comes out. Fly to the
top and redo it. You should have 86+ coins. Now get the red coin by the broken
bridges and the red coin behind the large slope to the right. Fly back to the
top and go down the mountain. The entire thing. There will be a lot of coins.
If you still don't have enough, there is a red coin on the way down, and plenty
of red boxes near the snowman. Wow, easy.

Go into the slide room area and change into Yoshi. Head back to the level.

Course #4: Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins
---------------------------------------

Without Yoshi this is undoable. Climb above the chimney and walk left to a fire.
Use your tongue and suck the fire up. Get back on the ledge above and spit the
fire on the ice block. A red coin is now unmelted. Get it, then go down the
entire mountain area. At the bottom is a red coin next to the Bob-Omb Buddy.
Now at the snowman area, climb down to the lift, to the right. Get the Red Coin.
Climb to the edge above and run across the bridge. At the other side is a giant
broken bridge. Hop to the other side and collect the Red Coin. Go back and to
the lift. Long Jump as far as you can, a gust of wind will keep you from falling
off the edge.

On the other side, climb the owl tree and get the coin from above. Now run to
the area by the broken bridge to the right of the hut. Get the red coin there,
get out of the bridge and head left. There is a slope here. Get the red coin.
Now go back to the owl and fly up. Keep flying around the long ice slope (easily
seen on the map) until you can visibly see the fire burning below. Drop onto
that platform and get the fire, then melt the frozen coin. Collect it to have a
Power Star appear back by the Broken Bridge area by the snowman. Go get it, my
beloved reader ;).

Course 5: Snowman's Lost His Head
---------------------------------

The diseased snowman gets a new body, or head or something weird :). From the
entrance, run up the hill behind the chimney. Then jump to the right, down to
the wood area. There is a head there. Talk to it, it will follow you. We have
to slide down the entire mountain now. When you are where the red coin is, we
must DASH so that we are in front of the other half of the snowman. Now go into
first person mode and look at the way you came from. When you see the other
snowman half, and feel that it is in fact, coming your way, dive to the side.
Talk to the snowman to get the Power Star. If you screw up, take the warp by the
broken bridge with the red coin right of the hut, or the owl to the top and try
again.

Course #6: Mario's Super Wall Kick

From the start, make your way by jumping off the edge and landing on the bottom.
Now move towards the lift that leads up the chasm. Ride it up and jump onto the
island halfway through. Talk to the Bob-Omb Buddy there to open the cannon.
Get back down and hop in. Aim slightly at the bottom of the ridge and towards
the tree. Shoot across and grab the tree. Slide down and head down the path. It
gets narrow, be sure to kill the flying pedals in the way. Long jump from one
end of the next chasm to the other side. Walk up the long paths. Wall jump up
the hill. Then do a side jump onto the wall and wall kick up the top to the
Star. Or, do a triple jump to the back and wall kick onto the small platform
above. Job well done, mate.

Head from the room you are in now, back into the entrance hall and go to the
opposite side of the castle where the Bob-Omb Battlefield would be on the other
side. Enter this room. Turn right and triple jump into the hole above the room.
Inside is a hidden Aquarium room. Collect the four red coins around middle
height in the square room. Then The four along the corners of the ground. This
causes a star to appear. Collect it. Go back in the room on the other side, and
jump into the painting.

Course #1: Plunder Among the Sunken Ship
----------------------------------------

Run into the water and swim out into the main area. Dive down to the bottom. You
will notice a Sunken Ship. We must head towards this. Get close to the opening
in the poopdeck (LOL) and stay just out of range of the eel. It will leave.
Now enter the inside of the ship. Right below where you start is a chest. Open
it by walking over to it and it opens the chest. There is an oxygen bubble which
you can refill life by swimming through. Now head towards the part of the ship
angled up. Go as far as you can, then jump to the top. Open the yellow box to
get the power star from it. Hooray!

Course #2: Can the Eel come out to Play?
----------------------------------------

Swim out into the lake as for as you can. Go down and look for the seaweed hole.
Swim over to it and avoid the eel's jaws.  Follow behind it and get the star
from it's tail. It will drop it back by the entrance to the seaweed spot. Go
over and collect it.

Course #3: Treasure in the Ocean Cave
-------------------------------------

Swim over to the bottom of the ocean floor. Now there is a hole in the middle
of the walls. It is easily visible on the map. Swim through to the other side.
Once you made it to the other side of the path, go left and to the end of the
path. There is a giant fence as a landmark. Now look at the chests. Go to the
chest at the very back from the area. Now open it and go to the one to the left.
Then right, then the front one. This spits a power star out. Get it.

Course #4: Blast to the Stone Pillar

There are two ways to complete this Power Star. Ignore the cannon in this level
completely. You can easily just get the "?" box and quickly mash the A button
towards the power star on the map. When your Mario starts to fade, bash the
button in hopes of landing on the platform. Get the Star to win.

Course #5: Red Coins on the Ship Afloat
---------------------------------------

Start the course by swimming in the water and head down as fast as possible.
Swim to the clams at the bottom. It opens up, with a red coin inside. There are
four red coins in the clams. So collect them all on your own. Now head to the
top of the ocean and back to start. Head right and climb up the wall part. Turn
around and jump up the spiky pillar. Shimmy to the top and get the red coin. Go
down and hit the switch. Run across to the ship. At the front, the ship bobs up
and down. So backflip so that you can collect it. Then go to the upper part of
the ship. Backflip to collect both red coins. Then get the Red Coin star that
appears back on the stone platform.

100 Coin Power Star of the Bay
------------------------------

Get the Goomba's for two measley coins. Smash the boxes quickly for three coins
and a shell. Stomp of the blue coin switch and FLOAT QUICKLY across the water
to get as many as you can. This is of vital importance. If you get all of them,
you gain fourty coins. For a total of 45. Ditch the shell and dive under water.
Get the coins that are in a ring, and along the ground. Not forgeting the one
in the shell. The above coins are near the whirlpool. Now go into the cove and
get the Goomba's for a total of 70. Now get the ring of coins. Go back topside
and to the ring of coins around the two shells. Get the red coin from the shell
and the ring of coins. 88 down. Go topside literally and climb the pole for the
red coin. Then go forth. There is a line of five coins going up. 95. Now go
towards the red switch button to get another 5 coins and claim the star.

These are all the Power Stars we can get at this moment. Jump upstairs and run
over to the Star Door and open it. Run to the back of the room and at the last
point you can reach, you fall through the hole in the floor. You are now at the
first Bowser Stage.

Bowser in the Dark World
------------------------

Before we start this level, congratulate yourself for getting this far in the
game, and note that there are 2 power stars in this level to be collected. They
can both be rather easy stars. But it may take a few trys due to mess ups. So
get ready.

From the start, run to the flame part just ahead. Wait for it to go down and
step on the "!" switch on the floor. Dash back to the start and walk on the red
blocks that appeared to the first Red Coin. Get back on the main path and walk
back to the fire. Stand on the opposite side of the switch. Get as close to the
edge as possible. Wait for the fire to go down and run through. You should scoop
the coin up barely. Now go over the moving blocks to the other side. For the
next long slide, either walk around and climb the easy side, hold the run button
until you have charged up a good run and release to dash up, or triple jump and
dive at the peak of the third jump to get to the top. Face the moving lifts and
hop on. At the top, run right over the wooden bridge. Turn left and avoid the
buzzing electron things.

Move past them all, picking up the red coin next to the second one. Run down the
path at the top and jump onto the next platform. Get the red coin on the other
side. Then hop on the moving square platforms and get the red coin there. Get
back to the platform with the yellow thing moving. Turn and look at the wooden
platform facing away from the sides. Long Jump to it and get the red coin. Now
walk the thin, blue, wooden platform back to the main concrete area. Jump across
the seesaw platforms to the other end. Turn around and look to the lower right.
There is a red coin on a narrow platform in easy reach. Get it now.

Jump on to the seesaw platform and triple jump to the top. This can have some
screw ups involved. Climb up and jump to the red coin on the other side. A star
appears at the end of the stage. Turn around and go back to the other part.
Jump over to the switch. Hit it to turn the slope into steps and climb up. At
the top, snag the star. You won't leave the level. So save and walk to the other
side of the pipe and hit the switch. A switch star appears back on one of the
platforms above the seesaw platforms. Long Jump off of the top of the checker
slide/staircase and you land on the top of one of the platforms. If you still
have the speed, do another long jump and you land on top of the other. Get to
the last platform and shatter the glass to get the star. Work your way back up
the checkered staircase and go down the warp pipe to find Bowser.

Bowser has had a graphical tune up, just like Mario in this game. No matter, he
is still, just as weak. Run around him until you can grasp his tail with "A".
Then you have to swing him around with the Control Pad or the Touch Screen.
Using the touch screen gives you some better aiming. As you can stop your finger
where you want it to go and then release. Aim so that Bowser hits the gigantic
mines. He blows up and lands upside down. This is the fashion we always beat
Bowser in, only this time we only have to blow him up once, thankfully. Get the
big key he drops and you exit the level.

As you get back in the room, run out. Head down the steps and into the plain
wooden doors on either side of the stairs. Then you should see a Boo. Run down
after him. In this next place is the Boo Courtyard. If you stare at some of the
Boos, then a red coin should appear. Defeat the boo by punching it from an angle
where it can't see you eye to eye. Kill all eight to win a Power Star. Get it.
Now go to the right side and look at the red blocks. Punch them away and jump
down. Welcome to Battle Fort.

The Secret Of Battle Fort
-------------------------

A harder version of Sunshine Isles. Again, you must collect 5 silver stars to
get the power star. Start by jumping over the flinging enemy and down the wooden
ramp. Kill the Goomba at the foot of the pole to get a silver star. Climb up
the pole and at the top is a Silver Star. Collect it. (You can jump at it). Turn
around and jump to the edge of the map. Go left towards the star on the map and
kill the Goomba to get a Silver Star. Walk down the path further and jump into
the little square area and destroy the boxes to get the next one. Last one is in
the red boxes on the opposite corner of the map. After you have all of them,
walk to the right and break the glass to get the star.

You are in the Ghost Courtyard now, turn around and go to the other side of
the fountain. Kill the giant Boo and walk into the cage it drops. You are now in
Big Boo's Haunt.

Big Boo Battle
--------------

From the start, enter the mansion. Use a Triple Jump to get to the second level
of the room. Go to the far right door and enter. At the right is a red box.
Use it to float to the edge above, there is Luigi's Painting. Enter it and
take the door to the right of the map and yourself. Next door to take is to the
top of the map, but left of the entrance. Next one is right, then left of where
you enter. Now run across the long falling bridge. Hope on the moving platforms
to reach the top of the level. Then jump down the hole at the end.

Run up close to the mirror and wait for the cutscene to ensue. Big Boo appears.
Three hits will do it. However, sometimes he is only visible in the giant mirror
or only visible outside the mirror, and not in it (RUN ON SENTENCE :P). After
he is defeated, he gives you the key to Luigi's Room. We don't need it yet.
Follow the directions of the last paragraph in the "Course #1" walkthrough if
you need help on him.

Course #1: Go on a Ghost Hunt
-----------------------------

Ghosts...don't...
... DIE!
Heh, heh, heh! Can you
get out of here...
...alive?

From the start of the level, you are in a giant cage with a mansion. Ignore the
manor now, and head to the left around the mansion. Turn right and look at the
door. Go inside. Defeat the two Boo's. Each drop a Blue Coin, so Health will
not be a giant issue in this level. Once the Boos are defeated, walk back around
to the front of the mansion.

Enter. From the start, go to the end of the room, then the door on the left of
the back wall. Kill the Boo. If you want to kill the eye, run around it a few
times. After it is vanquished, go out the door and to the next door to the right
of the last. Run right, then down to get to a falling bridge. Quickly dash over
it and kill the Boo at the other side. If you fall here, you go to a room below
with carnival like music. Just go to the other side of the room and in the door,
then the next room and up the lift at the end.

If you killed the Boo, then go in the door to get to the last room. Sidle along
to the Boo and Red coin. Kill the boo to trigger a new line:

Boooooo-m! Here comes
the master of mischief,
the titan of terror,
the Big Boo!
Ha ha ha ha...

Walk out into the first room of the mansion to encounter the Big Boo! This boss
takes three hits. Run around it and dive at it's back, then get up and keep
slugging him until he dies. This triggers a long set of stairs to the top floor
of the mansion and the Power Star. Go over to the cage (back at the castle) and
reenter it.

Course #2: Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round
----------------------------------------

Walk to the small gatehouse to the left of the building. Stand on the lift to
go down. At the bottom, go in the door. Then out the next. There is a door down
the watery area and on the right. Enter it to be in the Merry Go Round. To the
left side is a portrait of Big Boo that emits little Boos. Kill 6 of them to
have Big Boo appear. Punch him 3 times to defeat him. Then run to the Power Star
to finish the level. If you are low on energy, look out for the Fire Shooting
portrait.

Course #3: Secret of the Haunted Books
--------------------------------------

From the start, run forwards and up the ramp to the manor, inside, climb the
stairs and enter the room that is second from the left. Inside you are in the
Library room. The bookcases shoot books at you, so do some fancy long jumps
with you to the end. Then turn right. The books won't hurt you there, but will
if you go down the next stretch without long jumping.

At the end, jump from under the top book hanging out. This makes a sound appear
and it moves in. Now hit the one that is lowest with a punch. Then get the last
remaining book. This opens a secret path to the back. Go down it and there will
be a power star in the next room.

Course #4: Seek the 8 Red Coins
-------------------------------

Please note that when you start, this level is very easy. The red coins are all
very close to each other. Enter the manon at the start of the level. Go into the
first door on the left. Walk over to the piano and sidle to the coin. After it
is collected, sidle out. Go in the door to the left of the Piano. Hop on top of
the Bookcases to get Red Coins 2 and 3 respectively. Go back to the main manor
room.

The door to the other side of the manor leads to the thin walkway room. Go there
and sidle left to get the Red Coin. After you have picked it up, walk back to
the main room and jump up the stairs. Go to the door just to the left of where
you come up. Jump to the other side of the wire net platform and get the coin.
Leave that area.

Go into the door to the right of that. Inside, avoid the eye and go to the next
part. There are some coffins. The one to the right that is closest to you holds
a red coin. Walk over to it and it should pop up, collect it and go back to the
upstairs of the main room. Go to the far right door.

Inside is a giant room. Ignore all the stuff here and run to the other side to
the left. Get the red coin, jump over the light area though, as it will collapse
in if you stand on it. Go out the door next to it. Use the red block to float
up to the roof part, there is the final red coin here. The star appears on the
other side of the upper level. So get it.

Course #5: Big Boo's Balcony
----------------------------

Enter the level as usual by going into the mansion. Go upstairs and into the
door on the far right. Stand on the wooden platform and do a backflip up. Or
use the red box. At the top is Luigi's Painting again. Ignore it and go out the
door to the right. This is his Balcony. You must fight him, as usual, three hits
should suffice. After, float up to the roof and get the star.

100 Coin Power Star of the Manor
--------------------------------

Start by grabbing the giant box to the left. Burst it so you can get the coins
inside. Then dive at the spider creature to the right of the start. You have 8.
Go around back and get the two spiders around back of the manor. Then get the
box. You add another 16, totaling twenty four. Go inside the back door and
defeat the ghosts to get ten. Making you have thirty four. Go back all the way
around to the front. Enter the small house to the left of the start. Spin around
the eye until you claim his 5 coin. 39 down, 61 to go. Enter the actual manor.
Head into the room that is to the left. Get the red coin behind the attacking
piano then go through the next door. Get the two red coins from the bookshelves.
Yay! 45 coins. Take the door back out to the main room. The go through the
door you can see next on the screen. In the next room, slug the boo with the
old one two and spin the eye. Ten more coins to the treasury. Do a Triple Jump
to the red coin above.

Drop down to the bottom and head back to the lobby. Go in the next door from
left to right. Run over the falling bridge and beat the Boo up for another five.
Exit out the door and get the red coin, then kill the boo for the blue coin. Go
upstairs. Enter the fourth door from the right. Circle the eye until it passes
out and gives you another 5. 74 coins. Go under the grave to get a red coin and
head back into the main room. Go in the last door to the right. Get the red
coin from by the window, then the one outside floating. Land back on the
platform and return to the window room. Now get the red box and float upwards.
Stomp on the blue coin switch and add another 20 to your reach a large sum of
98 coins. Kill the boo in the picture for the last blue coin and a power star.

Reenter the level and leave with "Exit Course". Go to the Character Change room
and change into Luigi. We have a few levels to finish up now that we have the
nobody. First stop is Jolly Roger Bay.

Course #6: Switch Star of the Bay

Enter the course and run into the water. Swim out past the spiky pillars and
dive into the cove that leads to the underwater lagoon. Enter it. Start at the
red box and face outwards. Hit the box and turn invisible. Now dash forwards and
right. Step on the switch to trigger the star. Head over to it now and with
some long jumps you should make it with seconds to spare. The invisibility does
allow you to slip through fences, you know ;).

Course #6: Eye to Eye in the Secret Room

When you enter, follow the instructions to Luigi's Portrait, but don't enter.
Run to the red box and use it. This turns Luigi invisible. Now run through the
boo portrait to the right. There is a giant eye. Wait until you are visible, run
around the eye 2-3 times to make it die. Collect your reward.

Big Boo Battle
--------------

This is Luigi's painting all over again. Go upstairs and into the painting.
Follow the path down as you normally do, but the room with the last door to the
long bridge has a red box in the middle. Carefully collect it, as the floor will
tilt when you step on it. Dash into the long bridge and go over it. Go in the
Boo Painting on the wall instead of the platforms up and inside is a Power Star.
Collect her up now, billy.

Mushroom Castle

Now we have a ton load of Stars. Go back and switch characters to Mario. Head
to the Courtyard, but wait at the path to the door. Turn around and go down the
Stairs and use the key that Bowser left us after his defeat. We are now in the
basement. Run forwards along the path and into the Fire Painting Level.

Course #2: Bully the Bullies
----------------------------

This is the first of two lava levels. If you hit the lava, you will take 3
damage and be shot into the air. You can use that to your advantage, however.
Just exercise some caution. Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the
gap. Take the left path and long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to
the one on the farthest left and as close to the end as you can get. Look at the
squares that are being devoured and returned by lava on the other side. When
they are fullest, long jump over and use the extra push the lava gives you when
you touch it to land. Then get the coins on them and jump to the platform with
the three small guys on the other side.

Stand with your back turned to a bully. When it gets close, jump and they run
underneath you, then get pushed into the lava. Repeat this to all of them to
make a big bully appear. Stand with your back turned, then do a backflip when
he gets closed. Move towards him after he has passed under you and kick him
while still in the air to finish him off. A star appears, get it.

Course #1: Boil the Big Bully
-----------------------------

Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the gap. Take the left path and
long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to the one on the farthest left
and as close to the end as you can get. Look at the squares that are being
devoured and returned by lava on the other side. When they are fullest, long
jump over and use the extra push the lava gives you when you touch it to land.
Then get the coins on them and jump to the platform with the three small guys on
the other side. Refill health and aim left to the other platform and use the
gate platform to get over.

There is a Big Bully here. Do the same as the last level and lure him to an
edge, backflip and land on him to defeat the little punk. The Power Star appears
on another platform as well as a falling bridge to it. Go get it.

Course #3: 8-Coin Puzzle with 15 Pieces
---------------------------------------

From the start, turn around and look at the platform in the distance. Long Jump
and lava leap over to it. There is a bowser slide puzzle just over. This is the
easiest Red Coin level probably. Just run onto the puzzle. The ASCII below shows
the locations of the coins. The "#" represents a puzzle piece, the numbers show
the coins. The line inbetween the puzzle with "2 and 8" just show the coins are
inbetween the puzzle pieces. After you have them all, get the power star.

Course #4: Red-Hot Log Rolling
------------------------------

Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the gap. Take the left path and
long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to the one before the last one
we used before. It is a long one. Hop onto the taller winding platform from
there. Jump right, then over to the bully platform. Get on the gate platform
and go over to the other side, dodging the flames by standing on different
positions. Get off at the other side and walk up the ramp. There is a giant
log. Run towards the place you came from on the side of the log that is away
from where you came. The result is that the log rolls closer to the side you
didn't come on. Hop off on the right of the log and walk around to the star.

Course #6: Inside the Volcano
-----------------------------

There are two "Volcano" stars in this level. We will go for the easier (or
seemingly easier) one first. We will go over to the normal small square
platforms, but jump onto the hexagonal rotating one. Jump up and into the
volcano in the center. Immediately turn around and jump over the platforms to
the moving lift. Stand on it and wait until you see another lift. Take it and
jump off when you find a pole that is within your grasp. Jump on it and climb up
the pole. Jump off and land on the next platform. Climb up that pole and jump
off again. You land on a platform. Jump over to the star now.

Course #5: Hot-Foot-It into the Volcano
---------------------------------------

Start the level by going over to the volcano and entering like last time. This
time, we will go forward, not the other way. Walk over the narrow platform and
jump to the winding upwards path. Avoid the flame jet and climb upwards. On the
part above the bully is a falling wall. So wait for it to go back up and jump
up the edge. Continue along jumping over the platforms and flame jets. When
you see a lavafall you are almost done. Climb up the pole thats just down the
path. This part is the tricky part. Try to jump so that you land on the next
pole, or ground pound onto the platform. Then slide down the pole and jump over
to the ruins. We can get the star now.

Course #7: Flaming Silver Stars
-------------------------------

Run right in the level and get the shell out of the yellow box. Ride the shell
in the lava around the perimeter of the level. There are four stars, three in
corners, one next to the third. Now use the map to ride into the center (or
jump over to it). After the last one is obtained you can ride or jump to the
star glass crystal thing. Cool.

100 Coin Power Star
-------------------

Start off by vaulting yourself over the gap and going left up to the three coins
on the arrows. Go up on the platform and push the bully into the lava for one
coin. Go forward and left. Hop on each of the individual platforms to get a coin
on each. Go over to the long platform and get the five or so coins. Go onto the
winding S platform. Get the three. Longjump over to the lava platform to get
some surrounding coins and the blue from killing the eye. Go back to the S
platform and get the four coins on each block. Get the box and jump to the three
bullies area. Get the coins here and kill the bullies for their coins.

Go back to the long platform that sinks in the lava. There is a smaller bully
platform here. Get them. Then go to the spinning platform and get the coins
there.

From Lethal Lava Land, run right and you should come to a dead end. Jump into
the back wall to find yourself in a level.

Course #2: Shining Atop the Pyramid
-----------------------------------

From the start, use the box and hop over the hills to the left. On the other
side, aim so that you are facing the path up to the pyramid. Triple Jump and
you should land at the top. The star is right there.

Course #1: In the Talons of the Big Bird
----------------------------------------

Start again by using the box to get over to the left. Hills. Long jump the sand
vortexes to get to the other side and run up the pillar to get to the top. Wait
for Klepto the giant bird to show up. When he is above your character, jump at
the star. He drops it. Long jump down and grab the star.

Course #3: Inside the Ancient Pyramid
-------------------------------------

Start le course by using the box to get over the giant hill. Run up the path to
the pyramid and go inside. From the start, head right and down the long path.
Avoid the block and get the red box. Start floating and aim so you land on the
platform right above you. Scale the moving bits of wall and run right past the
buzzer electric things. Shimmy up the pole and jump off. Run over to the narrow
platform with the moving block. Wait for him to go to the other side and come
towards you. When it is on the ground, run right up to it and hold the run
button, then when it goes up, run underneath. Jump up and to the right then
claim the power star.

Course #4: Stand Tall on the Four Pillars
-----------------------------------------

This level has a boss with it. Grrreaaaat. Start by going to the right and over
to the concrete station. Hit the yellow box to get a shell. Surf over to the
pillar to the right that is in the middle of the instadeath quicksand. Get to
the top, then leave the pillar and go back on good land. Do NOT go to the left
side of the pillar or you will hit an invisible wall and die. So go to the
pillar behind the one you were just on. Go on top of this. Now go back to the
start area and use the shell or box to jump over the hill. On the other side,
stand tall on the other two pillars. Now go back to the path up the pyramid.
To the right is a climbable area of the pyramid, so go to the top. The top is
broken off when you stood on the last pillar. So go inside.

Wait as the caged area you are in goes down. After it stops, there is a hole in
one of the walls and you can jump in. Break the red block and slide down the
hole. Jump onto the block to trigger the boss fight with the two hands. To win,
punch the "eye" that appears on the open hand. This will get steadily more
difficult as the hands open and close faster. When there is one hand left, it
pushes at you to go off the edge, so you have to punch it before you fall. After
it dies, you break the curse and get the star.

Course #6: Pyramid Puzzle
-------------------------

This is a 5 Silver Star levels in, you guessed it, the pyramid. Begin by hopping
the hill with the box and going inside the infernal pyramid. Take the left path
as usual and get to the red box. Fly up to the set of narrow chutes with sand on
them. Collect the two stars there and at the other side is a path leading up.
Take it. There is a giant rolling thwomp in the way. Wait for him to go away and
run forward. Tuck yourself in the nook then wait for him to pass over you. Climb
up the path to the right that we normally fly up to. Go past the buzzing enemies
and sidle across the small path. Climb the pole and get under the thwomp. At the
other side, climb up and get the star. Then hang from the platform where there
is no barrier and press down to fall onto a small platform with the fourth
silver star. Hop slightly to the left to find yourself on a small platform with
the last star. Now jump down the sandfall and get to the end for the star.

Course #7: Free Flying for 8 Red Coins
--------------------------------------

This course is a lot easier than most of the Red Coin stars. Start by heading
left from the start, down the back of the hill to a narrow sand spot with a
red coin. Go right, and past the start to the stone foundation. The block to the
left on the bottom level has a red coin hidden in it. Go to the area forward
with the rolling squares (heh, rolling squares) and go to the area to the left.
Jump across the path to the red coin. Then move two squares forward. Long jump
to the other side with the tox box and stand on the square at the end of the
path where the red box is. You warp to the oasis. Avoid Klepto and talk to the
Bob-Omb Buddy to open the cannon. Then get the red coin from the water. Make
your way back to the place with the warp and get the wing cap from the block
and get in the cannon. Aim at the red coin in the sky slightly visible from
the cannon. Go around the pyramid in all four corners getting the red coins to
have the power star appear on the stone foundation roof.

Alright, we have plenty of stars, but there are many more to get. From where you
are from Shifting Sand Land, run down the path past Lethal Lava Land and in the
door with a star on it, but no value. Then jump just right of the goopy stuff.
Talk to the toad there to have him give you a power star. Now go in the goop
to enter Hazy Maze Cave.

Course #5: A-Maze-ing Emergency Exit
------------------------------------

From the start of this level, run down the left path and long jump the gap.
Go in the door. Long jump to the left gate path and walk out so you are almost
touching the boulder's path. Then angle the camera so that the tox box is at the
farthest left of the screen. Triple Jump and wall kick so you land on the ledge
above. Get the star. This method is much faster but may take a few tries.

Course #4: Navigating the Toxic Maze
------------------------------------

From the start of this level, run down the left path and long jump the gap.
Go in the door. Long jump to the left gate path and walk out so you are almost
touching the boulder's path. Then angle the camera so that the tox box is at the
farthest left of the screen. Triple Jump and wall kick so you land on the ledge
above. Ignore the now blue star and jump on the wire net. Go to the other side
and in the door. Go down the elevator and around the path. You are now in the
toxic maze, only at the end. Long jump to the right and backflip onto the edge.
Now just continue straight and up the elevator. There is a star at the top.

Course #2: Elevate for 8 Red Coins
----------------------------------

This level we go down the right path. Avoid the spider that pops out of the pit
and long jump the gap when the flames are down. Go in the door and slide down
the pole to the left. Head right and climb the steps. There is a bob-omb buddy
and an odd contraption. The contraption moves in the direction of the button
you stepped on. There are four buttons. If it hits anything, it falls, so hit
another buttno before that. The first two red coins are in the red boxes out
in the middle area. Get them. Then the next one is left of the last empty box
on the platform. After you got it, go to the ground level.

Go back to where you started the contraption. It will be there, or respawn in
a few seconds. Take it directly to the other side with the glass case and climb
up the purple pole. Jump off and hop on the moving platform. Punch the first
red box to get a red coin. Then get the next red coin by standing there and
letting it hit you or jumping for it. The next one you have to jump over the
floating platform to get the red coin on top. The last two reside on the giant
platform that is coming up. Now go get your star from the floor.

That is all we can collect for now. Head back to the double doors that lead to
the main floor, but instead open the Bowser door to the right. Run down and jump
into the blue wavy stuff.

Course #1: Board Bowser's Sub
-----------------------------

A very easy course. First off, swim down to the giant hole in the wall of the
bottom of the ocean. Swim down the long area and climb up the non water part
of the other side. Step on the red switch to make red blocks appear and forge
a path to Bowser's sub. Get there and jump into the star to the right. The
Bowser in the Fire Sea level is now available, but we shouldn't do that just
yet, so go back in the blue wall.

Course #2: Chests in the Current
--------------------------------

This is the last course we can do. Then we have to fight bowser to get the rest
of them. Start by diving to the bottom of the ocean. The order to open them this
time is:

1. The one located near the clamshell
2. The one farthest away from the vortex
3. The one closest to the vortex

The last one may get you too close to the vortex and kill you, so be VERY
careful. Get the Power Star that comes out.

Instead of going in the blue stuff, take the well like thing down to the Bowser
level.

Bowser in the Fire Sea
----------------------

Time to have another battle royal with Bowser! This time you are in a level full
of lava. Start the course by long jumping over to the block ahead.  Go left and
get the one up, then long jump to the closer platforms in the lava. Go to the
farther one from the start and long jump to the ramp of the next platform. Get
the 1-Up and go over the bumpy path with the lava coming up and down. Go left
and up the wire path. Jump over the gap at the top to get the first red coin.

Go back to the area with the Health Heart, where you turned off of. Run to the
end of the path and wall kick to the tilting platforms. Get the red coin from
the right of the first one. Then climb the pole. At the back right corner of the
room in the air is a red coin. Get it and run over to the elevator. Stand on it
and run off so it goes up but you stay in the cage area. Drop down below to get
the next red coin and ground pound so you do not take any damage. Go back up
and around to the elevator and take it up. Run past the jet of flames and stand
on the very thin platform that has two slants.

Go up the path to the right of that and get the red coin (Be wary of the bully)
and go back down so you land on the cage area and avoid future screwups. Walk on
and jump onto the moving platforms to get across the level. Avoid the bullies
and go up the path. On the third level of the ramps is a red coin, you might not
see it because it is in the air, wait for it to come down and continue down the
path.

Go to the fourth level and wait for the next section of path to come up. Take it
along and you reach a box with coins, a glass enclosure for a switch star and a
Bob-Omb. Long jump across the lava area ahead and get the red coin from in front
of the flame jet (#2). Refill your life energy at the heart on the other side
and jump onto the pole. Set your back so that it is facing the other side and
jump to it. Climb onto the other pole and go down. Then jump across to the next
pole, which is going up. Collect the last red coin to have the Star appear
topside. Climb to the top of the building place you are at and get the star.
Use the Switch Star switch to have the star appear in the glass case. Long jump
over to it and come back to the place you just were. Run over the orange
falling bridge and go down the warp pipe thing.

Bowser is now here to fight again. Be warned, he has learned some more attacks
that are annoying. He first begins by pounding one end of the platform so it
works like a seesaw. Run away from it, then when it starts to go back up, run
around Bowser and seize his tail. Throw him into the mines that are out in the
boondocks. If you miss, he lands on the platform and tips it over again. If he
still is on the platform, he has a new warping move. He can transfer himself to
other parts of the platform. After he is defeated, get the key and you get out
of the place.

Course #1: Big Bob-omb on the Summit
------------------------------------

We have to run up the hill and over the bridge. Go around or over the lifts and
past the Chain Chomp's to the bridge. Go over this bridge and over to the caged
area. Run to the right instead of straight up the mountain this time. There is
a large pit with a few giant cannonballs rolling around. Avoid them and go up
the mountain. Some will be rolling down at you. Ignore anything and just keep
moving towards the top of the mountain. Until you see a cave like thing in the
wall that boulders are coming from. Go inside and wait a few seconds not
touching anything. You will warp.

You are now at the summit. Jump to the top to find Big Bob-omb. He talks to you
for a bit, now you must fight him. He throws the smaller Bob-ombs at you. Scoop
one up and run over to him and shoot it at him by spitting it back out with
A. If it hits him, he takes a hit. Try to stay on the mountainside, otherwise
you have to restart the battle. If you can hit him thrice without dieing, he
gives in and gives you a power star. Collect it, merci.

Course #2: Footrace with Koopa the Quick
----------------------------------------

For the race, the flying cap and the cannon are out of bounds. So don't even
try, or you redo the level. The warp is fine, however.

Okay, so when you enter (as Mario), run over to the giant Koopa. Talk to him
from the bridge side. This gives you an advantage in an already easy level. He
challenges an out of shape Mario to a race! Accept. Then when it starts, do some
long jumps up the bridge, then over to the Chain Chomp area. Keep going and run
into the area that leads up the mountain. Make your way up. At the warp, use it.
Now jump to the top and run to the flag. You should be 10-15 seconds ahead of
him. You can sometimes see him on the way up by pausing the game. To kill time,
try some Handstand leaps from the top of the flagpole.

When he gets up, talk to him. He is amazed at your speed and rewards you with
his Power Star. So collect it.

Course #3: 5 Silver Stars!
--------------------------

This level is like Sunshine Isles. You must collect the five "Silva Starz". Move
forwards, the first one is in the tree. Now go up the bridge. In the area to
right of the Chain Chomp's normal area is the Chain Chomp. Off his pole running
around free. There is a Silver Star at the edge of his chain. Run after him and
touch the Star in the chain to get the second Star. Run past the old location of
the Chomp and over the bridge. Go left and walk over to the flowerbed area. The
Silver Star is located in the Goomba enemy. Defeat him to have him drop it. Now
head to the spot to the right of where you are now. This is the location of the
next Star. Collect it.

Now head up the mountain. Move along the ball rolling way. If you see a Goomba
enemy, defeat it. As the last one is in the paws of one. It should be near a
red brick box I believe. After you get it, use the cannon nearby to shoot
yourself towards the beginning of the level. Now walk the rest of the distance
and get the star from the Glass Enclosure that was triggered when you got the
last star.

DUNUNUNUNUNUN! HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Course #4: Big Bob-Omb's Revenge
--------------------------------

Big Bob-Omb is back and ready for action. Too bad for you, if you aren't Mario,
change into him. If you don't have him and do not have enough Stars to get him,
then you are still okay with Yoshi. You will just need to collect a Mario Cap
on the way. From the start, go up the bridge, left around the lifts and past
Chain Chomp. Go up the mountain and to the warp. If you are Mario, use the warp,
if not, go past this and kill the Goomba. One has a cap on. After you get this,
you turn into Mario. You still have the other character's voice though.

At the summit of the mountain lies Big Bob-Omb. To defeat him, we are going to
have to run around him and get to his back end. Pick it up, and throw it onto
the ground. If you toss him off the edge, he comes back up and gets mad. Throw
him on the ground three times to make him beg for mercy and give you the Power
Star.

Course #5: Mario Wings to the Sky
---------------------------------

If you haven't gotten the Cannons in this level open, do so by talking to the
Bob-Omb Buddy by the cannon right next to the start. Now run up the mountain.
But instead of going in the warp, go past it. There will be a cannon next to a
wooden plank. Hop on, then aim for the island in the sky. Shoot so that you hit
the tree to stop you from overshooting. Now get the Wing Cap from the box and
get in the cannon. Shoot towards the coin rings in front of you. You have to
get all five center coins. This may take several runs through. After you have
them all, a Power Star appears near the Red Coin pad. Fly over and collect it.

Course #6: Find the 8 Red Coins
-------------------------------

From the entrance, run up the bridge you went to last time. Instead of going
around the lifts, long jump over them to get a Red Coin. Go to the area to the
right of the last star. There is a white mound going up. Run up this and get the
coin from the top. After you are back down, run to Chain Chomp. Get the Red Coin
from on top of his peg that is holding him down. Run over to the bridge that
tilts. Jump onto the land, then head left. There are four pegs, two red coins
and a blue star on the ground. The blue star shows where the Red Coin star
appears.

Move back towards the caged area by the mountain side. On the bridge to the
place, fall off to the left. Hit the Red Switch to open the gate under the
bridge. Inside is a Red coin. Get it and come back up the hill the way you came.
Now go over the bridge. There is a path left and a path up the mountain. Hold
Y to run on the spot, then hold Y and forwards to dash up the hill. Keep going
and eventually you get the coin at the top. Walk down the mountain to the next
cannon that is available for use. Shoot up at the Island in the sky. Aim so that
you grab the tree. Climb to the top and handstand to get the coin. The Power
Star will appear. So go over to the blue part and get the star.

Course #7: Behind Chain Chomp's Gate
------------------------------------

Run over to the bridge up the mountain. Go left around the lifts and look
at Chain Chomp. He is chained to a pole. Run over to that pole and ground pound
it three times. The Chain Chomp is freed and will now bust the gate open. The
Power Star remains behind it. Collect it.

100 Coin Power Star
-------------------

As you enter, run forwards. Defeat the enemies by the bridge. Then get the row
of coins underneath it. Go up and instead of towards the Chain Chomp, go right.
Defeat the Goombas, Bob-Ombs and the Koopa. This gets you a few more coins. Now
get the Red coin from on the hill. Then the one over the lifts. Now take the one
over the Chain Chomp. If you can, run around the pole the Chomp is on to get
some more coins. But this isn't necessary. Go over to the poles next to the
Red Coin Star Location. Get the two Red coins and all the coins from the poles.
This should get you at least 30 by now.

Jump down into the area with the 1-Up, Red Coin and Switch. Hit the switch, get
the other stuff and go kill the enemies below the mountain. Now climb back up
through the opened gate and onto the bridge. Get the coins all the way up the
mountain. Ignore the Warp and get into the cannon next to the plank. Shoot to
the Island in the sky and get the coin from the tree. Now put on the Wing Cap
and collect all the coins in the sky. Or at least until the star appears. When
you have it, either hit the ground and select "Pause, Exit Course" or just go
to the Chain Chomp Gate and have him bash it open to get the star. This will
record your high score as well.

Course #1: Chip off Whomp's Block
---------------------------------

The Lakitu Bros. give you a useless update. Climb up the block, then backflip
or double jump up to the above level. You will be on a path leading diagonally
up with Yellow lines painted on it. Run up this. You are at a rather roomy area
with a slope on the right. Look over at the fence on the other side. Get a
running start and long jump over to there. You should just make it over the
fence. From there, use the lift to the top. Whomp will be there. Stand in front
of him to trigger the fight.

You have to charge a run up, then when he jumps, DASH out of the way. He hits
the ground and you can jump on his back and Ground Pound it. Repeat this process
three times to have him give you his Power Star. Cool deal. Reenter this level
and choose course 2.

Course #2: To the Top of the Fortress
-------------------------------------

Climb up the block, then backflip or double jump up to the above level. You will
be on a path leading diagonally up with Yellow lines painted on it. Run up this.
You are at a rather roomy area with a slope on the right. Look over at the fence
on the other side. Get a running start and long jump over to there. You should
just make it over the fence. From there, use the lift to the top. At the top,
climb onto one of the lower platforms

Make your way up the platforms. Every second one moves. The last one will move
up when you step on it. Jump onto the circular tower and walk right towards the
Power Star. We now have enough to get Mario.

Course #3: Shoot Into the Wild Blue
-----------------------------------

Okay, so go up to the place we went to before. Only instead of going up the
slanted platform, go into the water area to the left. Run to the back and talk
to Bob-Omb buddy. He opens the cannon. We do not need it, however. Run to the
bottom of the part with the Blue Coin Switch. There is a platform above you.
Run to the right, then do a side flip, then a wall kick to the platform. Then
walk to the star. If you cannot do this, use the cannon and blast to the pole in
the middle of the platform.

Course #4: Red Coins on the Floating Isle
-----------------------------------------

Okay, so jump up the place we normally go, but instead of the slanted path,
go right, just below it and along the dirt path. Do some fancy jumping to get
the first red coin above the pushing rock structures. Move along to the area
with the red box, the red bricks and the Thwomps. Face the second Thwomp. When
it goes down, jump on it. Then jump again to collect the red coin when the
Thwomp is at it's height. Get to the top of the stairs. Remember where we used
to long jump from to get to the other side? Don't.

Go up and left. Sidle past the first Piranha Plant and get the red coin behind
him. Now sidle along the wall towards the other plant and get the red coin
there. Beat the Piranha plant before he wakes up. Now wait for the wooden
platform to move so that you can walk on it. Move to the center of it. When the
platform has gone under the triangular thing, move forwards. Travel all the way
around and stand around halfway from the center to the edge. You should collect
a red coin on the way around. Now slide down the side of the platform. Go back
to the start of the level.

Run around the grass part of the level. You will find one red coin in a flower
bed. Try to long jump to it so you don't risk injuring yourself by hitting the
Piranha Plants hidden there. Now we turn around and go back to the tree at the
start of the level. Get the Owl out and jump into his talons. Float to the
islands in the sky, but not the one with the power star. The first and the last
one both have a red coin in each. Now after you get this one, the Power Star
appears in between the poles at grass level. So go down and collect it.

Course #5: Fall Onto the Caged Island
-------------------------------------

This level is easier than the one we just did, so enjoy it. Climb up the tree at
the start of the level to the left. Around the top of it, an owl comes out. Go
jump up to the talons of the owl to fly around. Move it towards the caged island
to the right. Fall onto it and go inside the cage to get the Power Star.

Course #6: Blast Away the Wall
------------------------------

So walk over to the Cannon we opened last stage. Then get inside. Look at the
two brick walls to the right. The furthest one has a crack in the top corner.
Shoot for that, and if you hit it, it shatters. You fall down to the ground.
Then a Power Star appears. Go back to the cannon and aim slightly above the star
to hit it and collect it.

Course #7: Switch Star of the Fortress
--------------------------------------

Almost as easy as course 6, but slightly more difficult. Instead of going up the
level (as we normally did). Head right along the grass path. Then left. Jump
over the fence to the grass area with the parallel walls. Inside one of the gaps
is a couple Red Boxes. Punch this, you find a star shaped switch. Step on it. A
Power Star appears. Run all the way (use the touch screen map) to it. Touch the
crystal to smash it open and claim this star.

100 Coin Power Star of the Fortress
-----------------------------------

Alright. When we start, run up the platform and onto the long yellow arrowed
path. Get the coins on it, then drop into the water area. Get the two circles
of coins. Now move towards the cannon. Get the line of coins adjacent to it.
Then go down to the bottom. Killing the Goombas and getting their coin's. Now
ground pound the blue coin box below the "Shoot into the Wild Blue" star. Get
the four blue coins that appear. Thats about 33 coins. Go back to the start.

Jump up the place we normally go, but instead of the slanted path,
go right, just below it and along the dirt path. Do some fancy jumping to get
the first red coin above the pushing rock structures. Move along to the area
with the red box, the red bricks and the Thwomps. Face the second Thwomp. When
it goes down, jump on it. Then jump again to collect the red coin when the

plant and get the red coin there. Beat the Piranha plant before he wakes up.
Now wait for the wooden platform to move so that you can walk on it. Move to the
center of it. When the platform has gone under the triangular thing, move
forwards. Travel all the way around and stand around halfway from the center to
the edge. You should collect a red coin on the way around, as well as a bunch of
coins.. Now slide down the side of the platform. Go back to the start of the
level.

Run around the grass part of the level. You will find one red coin in a flower
bed. Try to long jump to it so you don't risk injuring yourself by hitting the
Piranha Plants hidden there. Kill them one by one and get the blue coins they
drop. Now go back to the part with the poles in the ground and pound them to
get 5 or so coins from each.

Now we turn around and go back to the tree at the start of the level. Get the
Owl out and jump into his talons. Float to the islands in the sky, but not the
one with the power star. There are a LOT of coins here. As well as two red coins
to beef your coins up. You should have gotten at least 100 coins by now. So get
the star.

Course #1: Plunder Among the Sunken Ship

Run into the water and swim out into the main area. Dive down to the bottom. You
will notice a Sunken Ship. We must head towards this. Get close to the opening
in the poopdeck (LOL) and stay just out of range of the eel. It will leave.
Now enter the inside of the ship. Right below where you start is a chest. Open
it by walking over to it and it opens the chest. There is an oxygen bubble which
you can refill life by swimming through. Now head towards the part of the ship
angled up. Go as far as you can, then jump to the top. Open the yellow box to
get the power star from it. Hooray!

Course #2: Can the Eel come out to Play?
----------------------------------------

Swim out into the lake as for as you can. Go down and look for the seaweed hole.
Swim over to it and avoid the eel's jaws.  Follow behind it and get the star
from it's tail. It will drop it back by the entrance to the seaweed spot. Go
over and collect it.

Course #3: Treasure in the Ocean Cave
-------------------------------------

Swim over to the bottom of the ocean floor. Now there is a hole in the middle
of the walls. It is easily visible on the map. Swim through to the other side.
Once you made it to the other side of the path, go left and to the end of the
path. There is a giant fence as a landmark. Now look at the chests. Go to the
chest at the very back from the area. Now open it and go to the one to the left.
Then right, then the front one. This spits a power star out. Get it.

Course #4: Blast to the Stone Pillar

There are two ways to complete this Power Star. Ignore the cannon in this level
completely. You can easily just get the "?" box and quickly mash the A button
towards the power star on the map. When your Mario starts to fade, bash the
button in hopes of landing on the platform. Get the Star to win.

Course #5: Red Coins on the Ship Afloat
---------------------------------------

Start the course by swimming in the water and head down as fast as possible.
Swim to the clams at the bottom. It opens up, with a red coin inside. There are
four red coins in the clams. So collect them all on your own. Now head to the
top of the ocean and back to start. Head right and climb up the wall part. Turn
around and jump up the spiky pillar. Shimmy to the top and get the red coin. Go
down and hit the switch. Run across to the ship. At the front, the ship bobs up
and down. So backflip so that you can collect it. Then go to the upper part of
the ship. Backflip to collect both red coins. Then get the Red Coin star that
appears back on the stone platform.

Course #6: Switch Star of the Bay
---------------------------------

You must be Luigi.

Enter the course and run into the water. Swim out past the spiky pillars and
dive into the cove that leads to the underwater lagoon. Enter it. Start at the
red box and face outwards. Hit the box and turn invisible. Now dash forwards and
right. Step on the switch to trigger the star. Head over to it now and with
some long jumps you should make it with seconds to spare. The invisibility does
allow you to slip through fences, you know ;).

Course #7: Through the Jet Stream

You must be Waluigi.

As you enter the course, head up the platform until you get to the red switch
that makes the red blocks appear. Get the Red Block powerup and you will be
very heavy. Sink to the bottom of the lake. In the center is a Jet Stream. Go
into the stream to get the Power Star.

100 Coin Power Star of the Bay
------------------------------

Get the Goomba's for two measley coins. Smash the boxes quickly for three coins
and a shell. Stomp of the blue coin switch and FLOAT QUICKLY across the water
to get as many as you can. This is of vital importance. If you get all of them,
you gain fourty coins. For a total of 45. Ditch the shell and dive under water.
Get the coins that are in a ring, and along the ground. Not forgeting the one
in the shell. The above coins are near the whirlpool. Now go into the cove and
get the Goomba's for a total of 70. Now get the ring of coins. Go back topside
and to the ring of coins around the two shells. Get the red coin from the shell
and the ring of coins. 88 down. Go topside literally and climb the pole for the
red coin. Then go forth. There is a line of five coins going up. 95. Now go
towards the red switch button to get another 5 coins and claim the star.

Course #1: Slip Slidin' Away
----------------------------

From the start of the level, Triple Jump up the house and into the chimney. You
appear in a Snow track. You can take one easy way, two medium ways and one hard
way through. For the easy way, make it through the track until you see a set
of coins leading into a wall. There is a secret path leading to a safe exit to
the bottom of the track. For the medium way, number one is that you just go
through the entire track as normal. The other medium way is that you jump off at
the part where you can face the entrance to the easy way. You will land and cut
a portion of the track off. The hard way is to jump from the path at the very
start and you land near the end. The only thing is, you have to jump the next
corner of the track to survive and that can be tricky.

At the bottom of the slide, go outside. A Power Star appears and is calling for
you to get it. So do just that. :)

Course #2: Lil Penguin Lost
---------------------------

There is a penguin lost in this level, it's mother is worried. You cannot do
this as Yoshi. From the start, jump to the ledge above the chimney. A penguin
is walking around to blobby noises. Pick him up and slide down the track of the
area. Now, look at the touch screen map. There is a giant snowbank below. Jump
off the edge to land at the bottom where you came out of the bottom of the snow
slide. Be sure to ground pound, so you aren't stuck in the snow for a few
seconds, which allows the baby penguin to run potentially towards the edge,
which may cause you to fall off. After you have the penguin back in your grasp,
run to the giant penguin next to the ice pool. Show it the penguin and you will
get a Power Star for returning it. Cool.

Course #3: Big Penguin Race
---------------------------

I may be wrong, but I think the penguin only races Mario. Go back down the
chimney and talk to the 'guin. He asks you if you want to race. Accept, now
listen close, and listen hard. You CANNOT use the shortcuts. No jumping off the
track to land at a lower point, no using the wall shortcut. Just a straight out
race. Which means you may have a tough race, depending on your skill level. Just
hold forward, and don't jump to get the coins. You should win by about 5-9
seconds. When the penguin comes out, DO NOT LEAVE THE HUT. Or you will have to
redo this level. When the penguin stops, talk to it and it gives you the star
in place of a gold medal.

Course #4: Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins
---------------------------------------

Without Yoshi this is undoable. Climb above the chimney and walk left to a fire.
Use your tongue and suck the fire up. Get back on the ledge above and spit the
fire on the ice block. A red coin is now unmelted. Get it, then go down the
entire mountain area. At the bottom is a red coin next to the Bob-Omb Buddy.
Now at the snowman area, climb down to the lift, to the right. Get the Red Coin.
Climb to the edge above and run across the bridge. At the other side is a giant
broken bridge. Hop to the other side and collect the Red Coin. Go back and to
the lift. Long Jump as far as you can, a gust of wind will keep you from falling
off the edge.

On the other side, climb the owl tree and get the coin from above. Now run to
the area by the broken bridge to the right of the hut. Get the red coin there,
get out of the bridge and head left. There is a slope here. Get the red coin.
Now go back to the owl and fly up. Keep flying around the long ice slope (easily
seen on the map) until you can visibly see the fire burning below. Drop onto
that platform and get the fire, then melt the frozen coin. Collect it to have a
Power Star appear back by the Broken Bridge area by the snowman. Go get it, my
beloved reader ;).

Course #5: Snowman's Lost His Head
----------------------------------

The diseased snowman gets a new body, or head or something weird :). From the
entrance, run up the hill behind the chimney. Then jump to the right, down to
the wood area. There is a head there. Talk to it, it will follow you. We have
to slide down the entire mountain now. When you are where the red coin is, we
must DASH so that we are in front of the other half of the snowman. Now go into
first person mode and look at the way you came from. When you see the other
snowman half, and feel that it is in fact, coming your way, dive to the side.
Talk to the snowman to get the Power Star. If you screw up, take the warp by the
broken bridge with the red coin right of the hut, or the owl to the top and try
again.

Course #6: Mario's Super Wall Kick
----------------------------------

From the start, make your way by jumping off the edge and landing on the bottom.
Now move towards the lift that leads up the chasm. Ride it up and jump onto the
island halfway through. Talk to the Bob-Omb Buddy there to open the cannon.
Get back down and hop in. Aim slightly at the bottom of the ridge and towards
the tree. Shoot across and grab the tree. Slide down and head down the path. It
gets narrow, be sure to kill the flying pedals in the way. Long jump from one
end of the next chasm to the other side. Walk up the long paths. Wall jump up
the hill. Then do a side jump onto the wall and wall kick up the top to the
Star. Or, do a triple jump to the back and wall kick onto the small platform
above. Job well done, mate.

100 Coin Power Star of the Mountain
-----------------------------------

This is ridiculously easy!

Start by jumping into the coin trail leading to the slide. Now go down the
slide, the full way. Collecting ALL the coins. If you miss some, go to the tree
outside the hut and climb it. Get the red coin from the top of it and the owl
comes out. Fly to the top and redo it. You should have 86+ coins. Now get the
red coin by the broken bridges and the red coin behind the large slope to the
right. Fly back to the top and go down the mountain. The entire thing. There
will be a lot of coins. If you still don't have enough, there is a red coin on
the way down, and plenty of red boxes near the snowman. Wow, easy.

Course #1: Go on a Ghost Hunt

From the start of the level, you are in a giant cage with a mansion. Ignore the
manor now, and head to the left around the mansion. Turn right and look at the
door. Go inside. Defeat the two Boo's. Each drop a Blue Coin, so Health will
not be a giant issue in this level. Once the Boos are defeated, walk back around
to the front of the mansion.

Enter. From the start, go to the end of the room, then the door on the left of
the back wall. Kill the Boo. If you want to kill the eye, run around it a few
times. After it is vanquished, go out the door and to the next door to the right
of the last. Run right, then down to get to a falling bridge. Quickly dash over
it and kill the Boo at the other side. If you fall here, you go to a room below
with carnival like music. Just go to the other side of the room and in the door,
then the next room and up the lift at the end.

If you killed the Boo, then go in the door to get to the last room. Sidle along
to the Boo and Red coin. Kill the boo to trigger a new line:

Boooooo-m! Here comes
the master of mischief,
the titan of terror,
the Big Boo!
Ha ha ha ha...

Walk out into the first room of the mansion to encounter the Big Boo! This boss
takes three hits. Run around it and dive at it's back, then get up and keep
slugging him until he dies. This triggers a long set of stairs to the top floor
of the mansion and the Power Star. Go over to the cage (back at the castle) and
reenter it.

Course #2: Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round
----------------------------------------

Walk to the small gatehouse to the left of the building. Stand on the lift to
go down. At the bottom, go in the door. Then out the next. There is a door down
the watery area and on the right. Enter it to be in the Merry Go Round. To the
left side is a portrait of Big Boo that emits little Boos. Kill 6 of them to
have Big Boo appear. Punch him 3 times to defeat him. Then run to the Power Star
to finish the level. If you are low on energy, look out for the Fire Shooting
portrait.

Course #3: Secret of the Haunted Books
--------------------------------------

From the start, run forwards and up the ramp to the manor, inside, climb the
stairs and enter the room that is second from the left. Inside you are in the
Library room. The bookcases shoot books at you, so do some fancy long jumps
with you to the end. Then turn right. The books won't hurt you there, but will
if you go down the next stretch without long jumping.

At the end, jump from under the top book hanging out. This makes a sound appear
and it moves in. Now hit the one that is lowest with a punch. Then get the last
remaining book. This opens a secret path to the back. Go down it and there will
be a power star in the next room.

Course #4: Seek the 8 Red Coins
-------------------------------

Please note that when you start, this level is very easy. The red coins are all
very close to each other. Enter the manon at the start of the level. Go into the
first door on the left. Walk over to the piano and sidle to the coin. After it
is collected, sidle out. Go in the door to the left of the Piano. Hop on top of
the Bookcases to get Red Coins 2 and 3 respectively. Go back to the main manor
room.

The door to the other side of the manor leads to the thin walkway room. Go there
and sidle left to get the Red Coin. After you have picked it up, walk back to
the main room and jump up the stairs. Go to the door just to the left of where
you come up. Jump to the other side of the wire net platform and get the coin.
Leave that area.

Go into the door to the right of that. Inside, avoid the eye and go to the next
part. There are some coffins. The one to the right that is closest to you holds
a red coin. Walk over to it and it should pop up, collect it and go back to the
upstairs of the main room. Go to the far right door.

Inside is a giant room. Ignore all the stuff here and run to the other side to
the left. Get the red coin, jump over the light area though, as it will collapse
in if you stand on it. Go out the door next to it. Use the red block to float
up to the roof part, there is the final red coin here. The star appears on the
other side of the upper level. So get it.

Course #5: Big Boo's Balcony
----------------------------

Enter the level as usual by going into the mansion. Go upstairs and into the
door on the far right. Stand on the wooden platform and do a backflip up. Or
use the red box. At the top is Luigi's Painting again. Ignore it and go out the
door to the right. This is his Balcony. You must fight him, as usual, three hits
should suffice. After, float up to the roof and get the star.

Course #6: Eye to Eye in the Secret Room
----------------------------------------

When you enter, follow the instructions to Luigi's Portrait, but don't enter.
Run to the red box and use it. This turns Luigi invisible. Now run through the
boo portrait to the right. There is a giant eye. Wait until you are visible, run
around the eye 2-3 times to make it die. Collect your reward.

100 Coin Power Star of the Manor
--------------------------------

Start by grabbing the giant box to the left. Burst it so you can get the coins
inside. Then dive at the spider creature to the right of the start. You have 8.
Go around back and get the two spiders around back of the manor. Then get the
box. You add another 16, totaling twenty four. Go inside the back door and
defeat the ghosts to get ten. Making you have thirty four. Go back all the way
around to the front. Enter the small house to the left of the start. Spin around
the eye until you claim his 5 coin. 39 down, 61 to go. Enter the actual manor.
Head into the room that is to the left. Get the red coin behind the attacking
piano then go through the next door. Get the two red coins from the bookshelves.
Yay! 45 coins. Take the door back out to the main room. The go through the
door you can see next on the screen. In the next room, slug the boo with the
old one two and spin the eye. Ten more coins to the treasury. Do a Triple Jump
to the red coin above.

Drop down to the bottom and head back to the lobby. Go in the next door from
left to right. Run over the falling bridge and beat the Boo up for another five.
Exit out the door and get the red coin, then kill the boo for the blue coin. Go
upstairs. Enter the fourth door from the right. Circle the eye until it passes
out and gives you another 5. 74 coins. Go under the grave to get a red coin and
head back into the main room. Go in the last door to the right. Get the red
coin from by the window, then the one outside floating. Land back on the
platform and return to the window room. Now get the red box and float upwards.
Stomp on the blue coin switch and add another 20 to your reach a large sum of
98 coins. Kill the boo in the picture for the last blue coin and a power star.

Course #2: Elevate for 8 Red Coins

This level we go down the right path. Avoid the spider that pops out of the pit
and long jump the gap when the flames are down. Go in the door and slide down
the pole to the left. Head right and climb the steps. There is a bob-omb buddy
and an odd contraption. The contraption moves in the direction of the button
you stepped on. There are four buttons. If it hits anything, it falls, so hit
another buttno before that. The first two red coins are in the red boxes out
in the middle area. Get them. Then the next one is left of the last empty box
on the platform. After you got it, go to the ground level.

Go back to where you started the contraption. It will be there, or respawn in
a few seconds. Take it directly to the other side with the glass case and climb
up the purple pole. Jump off and hop on the moving platform. Punch the first
red box to get a red coin. Then get the next red coin by standing there and
letting it hit you or jumping for it. The next one you have to jump over the
floating platform to get the red coin on top. The last two reside on the giant
platform that is coming up. Now go get your star from the floor.

Course #4: Navigating the Toxic Maze
------------------------------------

From the start of this level, run down the left path and long jump the gap.
Go in the door. Long jump to the left gate path and walk out so you are almost
touching the boulder's path. Then angle the camera so that the tox box is at the
farthest left of the screen. Triple Jump and wall kick so you land on the ledge
above. Ignore the now blue star and jump on the wire net. Go to the other side
and in the door. Go down the elevator and around the path. You are now in the
toxic maze, only at the end. Long jump to the right and backflip onto the edge.
Now just continue straight and up the elevator. There is a star at the top.

Course #5: A-Maze-ing Emergency Exit
------------------------------------

From the start of this level, run down the left path and long jump the gap.
Go in the door. Long jump to the left gate path and walk out so you are almost
touching the boulder's path. Then angle the camera so that the tox box is at the
farthest left of the screen. Triple Jump and wall kick so you land on the ledge
above. Get the star. This method is much faster but may take a few tries.

Course #1: Boil the Big Bully

Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the gap. Take the left path and
long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to the one on the farthest left
and as close to the end as you can get. Look at the squares that are being
devoured and returned by lava on the other side. When they are fullest, long
jump over and use the extra push the lava gives you when you touch it to land.
Then get the coins on them and jump to the platform with the three small guys on
the other side. Refill health and aim left to the other platform and use the
gate platform to get over.

There is a Big Bully here. Do the same as the last level and lure him to an
edge, backflip and land on him to defeat the little punk. The Power Star appears
on another platform as well as a falling bridge to it. Go get it.

Course #2: Bully the Bullies
----------------------------

This is the first of two lava levels. If you hit the lava, you will take 3
damage and be shot into the air. You can use that to your advantage, however.
Just exercise some caution. Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the
gap. Take the left path and long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to
the one on the farthest left and as close to the end as you can get. Look at the
squares that are being devoured and returned by lava on the other side. When
they are fullest, long jump over and use the extra push the lava gives you when
you touch it to land. Then get the coins on them and jump to the platform with
the three small guys on the other side.

Stand with your back turned to a bully. When it gets close, jump and they run
underneath you, then get pushed into the lava. Repeat this to all of them to
make a big bully appear. Stand with your back turned, then do a backflip when
he gets closed. Move towards him after he has passed under you and kick him
while still in the air to finish him off. A star appears, get it.

Course #3: 8-Coin Puzzle with 15 Pieces
---------------------------------------

From the start, turn around and look at the platform in the distance. Long Jump
and lava leap over to it. There is a bowser slide puzzle just over. This is the
easiest Red Coin level probably. Just run onto the puzzle. The ASCII below shows
the locations of the coins. The "#" represents a puzzle piece, the numbers show
the coins. The line inbetween the puzzle with "2 and 8" just show the coins are
inbetween the puzzle pieces. After you have them all, get the power star.

Begin by moving forward and long jumping over the gap. Take the left path and
long jump to the little squares in the lava. Go to the one before the last one
we used before. It is a long one. Hop onto the taller winding platform from
there. Jump right, then over to the bully platform. Get on the gate platform
and go over to the other side, dodging the flames by standing on different
positions. Get off at the other side and walk up the ramp. There is a giant
log. Run towards the place you came from on the side of the log that is away
from where you came. The result is that the log rolls closer to the side you
didn't come on. Hop off on the right of the log and walk around to the star.

Course #5: Hot-Foot-It into the Volcano
---------------------------------------

Start the level by going over to the volcano and entering like last time. This
time, we will go forward, not the other way. Walk over the narrow platform and
jump to the winding upwards path. Avoid the flame jet and climb upwards. On the
part above the bully is a falling wall. So wait for it to go back up and jump
up the edge. Continue along jumping over the platforms and flame jets. When
you see a lavafall you are almost done. Climb up the pole thats just down the
path. This part is the tricky part. Try to jump so that you land on the next
pole, or ground pound onto the platform. Then slide down the pole and jump over
to the ruins. We can get the star now.

Course #6: Inside the Volcano
-----------------------------

There are two "Volcano" stars in this level. We will go for the easier (or
seemingly easier) one first. We will go over to the normal small square
platforms, but jump onto the hexagonal rotating one. Jump up and into the
volcano in the center. Immediately turn around and jump over the platforms to
the moving lift. Stand on it and wait until you see another lift. Take it and
jump off when you find a pole that is within your grasp. Jump on it and climb up
the pole. Jump off and land on the next platform. Climb up that pole and jump
off again. You land on a platform. Jump over to the star now.

Course #7: Flaming Silver Stars
-------------------------------

Run right in the level and get the shell out of the yellow box. Ride the shell
in the lava around the perimeter of the level. There are four stars, three in
corners, one next to the third. Now use the map to ride into the center (or
jump over to it). After the last one is obtained you can ride or jump to the
star glass crystal thing. Cool.

Course #1: In the Talons of the Big Bird
----------------------------------------

Use the box to get over to the left hills. Long jump the sand
vortexes to get to the other side and run up the pillar to get to the top. Wait
for Klepto the giant bird to show up. When he is above your character, jump at
the star. He drops it. Long jump down and grab the star.

Course #2: Shining Atop the Pyramid
-----------------------------------

From the start, use the box and hop over the hills to the left. On the other
side, aim so that you are facing the path up to the pyramid. Triple Jump and
you should land at the top. The star is right there.

Course #3: Inside the Ancient Pyramid
-------------------------------------

Start le course by using the box to get over the giant hill. Run up the path to
the pyramid and go inside. From the start, head right and down the long path.
Avoid the block and get the red box. Start floating and aim so you land on the
platform right above you. Scale the moving bits of wall and run right past the
buzzer electric things. Shimmy up the pole and jump off. Run over to the narrow
platform with the moving block. Wait for him to go to the other side and come
towards you. When it is on the ground, run right up to it and hold the run
button, then when it goes up, run underneath. Jump up and to the right then
claim the power star.

Course #4: Stand Tall on the Four Pillars
-----------------------------------------

This level has a boss with it. Grrreaaaat. Start by going to the right and over
to the concrete station. Hit the yellow box to get a shell. Surf over to the
pillar to the right that is in the middle of the instadeath quicksand. Get to
the top, then leave the pillar and go back on good land. Do NOT go to the left
side of the pillar or you will hit an invisible wall and die. So go to the
pillar behind the one you were just on. Go on top of this. Now go back to the
start area and use the shell or box to jump over the hill. On the other side,
stand tall on the other two pillars. Now go back to the path up the pyramid.
To the right is a climbable area of the pyramid, so go to the top. The top is
broken off when you stood on the last pillar. So go inside.

Wait as the caged area you are in goes down. After it stops, there is a hole in
one of the walls and you can jump in. Break the red block and slide down the
hole. Jump onto the block to trigger the boss fight with the two hands. To win,
punch the "eye" that appears on the open hand. This will get steadily more
difficult as the hands open and close faster. When there is one hand left, it
pushes at you to go off the edge, so you have to punch it before you fall. After
it dies, you break the curse and get the star.

Course #6: Pyramid Puzzle
-------------------------

This is a 5 Silver Star levels in, you guessed it, the pyramid. Begin by hopping
the hill with the box and going inside the infernal pyramid. Take the left path
as usual and get to the red box. Fly up to the set of narrow chutes with sand on
them. Collect the two stars there and at the other side is a path leading up.
Take it. There is a giant rolling thwomp in the way. Wait for him to go away and
run forward. Tuck yourself in the nook then wait for him to pass over you. Climb
up the path to the right that we normally fly up to. Go past the buzzing enemies
and sidle across the small path. Climb the pole and get under the thwomp. At the
other side, climb up and get the star. Then hang from the platform where there
is no barrier and press down to fall onto a small platform with the fourth
silver star. Hop slightly to the left to find yourself on a small platform with
the last star. Now jump down the sandfall and get to the end for the star.

Course #7: Free Flying for 8 Red Coins
--------------------------------------

This course is a lot easier than most of the Red Coin stars. Start by heading
left from the start, down the back of the hill to a narrow sand spot with a
red coin. Go right, and past the start to the stone foundation. The block to the
left on the bottom level has a red coin hidden in it. Go to the area forward
with the rolling squares (heh, rolling squares) and go to the area to the left.
Jump across the path to the red coin. Then move two squares forward. Long jump
to the other side with the tox box and stand on the square at the end of the
path where the red box is. You warp to the oasis. Avoid Klepto and talk to the
Bob-Omb Buddy to open the cannon. Then get the red coin from the water. Make
your way back to the place with the warp and get the wing cap from the block
and get in the cannon. Aim at the red coin in the sky slightly visible from
the cannon. Go around the pyramid in all four corners getting the red coins to
have the power star appear on the stone foundation roof.

Course #1: Board Bowser's Sub
-----------------------------

A very easy course. First off, swim down to the giant hole in the wall of the
bottom of the ocean. Swim down the long area and climb up the non water part
of the other side. Step on the red switch to make red blocks appear and forge
a path to Bowser's sub. Get there and jump into the star to the right. The
Bowser in the Fire Sea level is now available, but we shouldn't do that just
yet, so go back in the blue wall.

Course #2: Chests in the Current
--------------------------------

This is the last course we can do. Then we have to fight bowser to get the rest
of them. Start by diving to the bottom of the ocean. The order to open them this
time is:

1. The one located near the clamshell
2. The one farthest away from the vortex
3. The one closest to the vortex

The last one may get you too close to the vortex and kill you, so be VERY
careful. Get the Power Star that comes out.

Okay, so after you have 150 Stars, a few new things occur in the game. One being
that the giant penguin you normally race is fatter, and looks like he was
squashed. Another big one would be the cannon outside the castle opens up and
allows you to shoot to the roof. There are some glitches and tricky manuvers
that allowed you to do this earlier, but not anymore. On the roof lies 3 1-Ups
and a Red Box. The cool thing is that there is also a rabbit on the roof for
Luigi to catch and get his final Mini-Game key! The last thing is that when you
defeat Bowser, he mentions the Stars, there being 150 and that he hasn't found
them all when he decided to show his ugly face.
