An advanced civilization, peaceful, prosperous, and powerful, the Alimbics maintained stability over the region forcefully but judiciously. They reigned over a vast region known as the Alimbic Cluster. One day, perhaps thousands of years ago, perhaps tens of thousands, they simply disappeared, leaving behind artifacts scattered across the Alimbic Cluster, all protected by a lethal arsenal of the Alimbics' most advanced weaponry. Today, for the first time in centuries, the long-dormant Alimbic Cluster has begun to stir, delivering some strange tidings. A telepathic communique, originating within the Cluster, has been transmitted into the brains of some of the most exceptional beings in our galaxy. The message is translated into a thousand different languages on a thousand different worlds, but the message is always the same: "The secret to ultimate power lies in the the Alimbic Cluster." This message has intrigued and enticed some of the most formidable bounty hunters in the galaxy, inspiring them to make the long journey to the Alimbic Cluster. Each of these great warriors has his own motivation. Some desire power--for themselves, their planet, or their people--while others simply desire to hunt and kill, to prove themselves the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Now , it's a race against time to see which bounty hunter will triumph and who will discover the secret behind this promise of "ultimate power." The Galactic Federation has heeded this strange, suspicious communication as well and has called for the help of Samus. Her mission: to discover the truth about this mysterious message, to protect against a potential threat, and to keep the ultimate power of the Alimbics from falling into the wrong hands. +==============================================================================+ | 2) Controls ----------------------------------------------------------------| +==============================================================================+ Here is a regular Nintendo DS, just incase you need a visual aid. If you are left handed then you should use Stylus Mode, Left or Dual Mode, Left. This is the default Directional Pad- Up on the D Pad Moves you forward; down moves you back. R Button- Boost in Morph Ball Mode. L Button- Shoot gun. Touch Screen- Slide the Stylus up on the screen to look up. Slide down to look down. Slide left to turn left. Slide right to look right. Double tap the screen to jump. Pros: Lets you have deadly accuracy. You can move the camera slowly, to aim well, or you could move fast to turn around and nail the sucker at your backside, or to run for your life. Cons: Takes awhile to get used to. Plus, it's hard to hold the DS close to your face while using the stylus, which is all the time. I feel less like I am actually there when playing with the DS all the way in my lap, and more like I am playing a game in History Class, which I am, but I'm trying to FORGET I'm there. +=====================+ | Stylus Mode, Left | +=====================+ "Stylus Mode, Left" is for people who want to use the stylus and are left handed. It is near impossible to move only a little bit. You always move so much with just a light tap. It also moves slow when you want to move fast. To aim better, try to aim as close as you can to the object, and move your whole body. Also, if you want to move slowly, for more accurate aiming, you can turn the sensitivity down. Don't turn it down too low, because it will take forever to turn. Find the sensitivity level that works for you. +===================+ | Dual Mode, Left | +===================+ "Dual Mode, Left" is for people who don't want to use the stylus and are left handed. You can choose where to go by moving left or right, or up and down with the D Pad. The only place you will find is called "Celestial Archives," so use the lower screen to select it. Tap "land Ship" to go there. +======================+ | Celestial Archives | +======================+ Well, you should always scan everything. This game DOES have a storyline, but it takes place entirely through the various scans. The scans ARE the storyline. To use your Scan Visor, tap and hold the "Scan Visor" icon, located just below the radar. When you are done, find the door. It will be on the bottom level, and it is in the shape of a brown triangle. To open the door, use L to shoot (R if you are left handed). Go through. Go through the winding hallway and through the next door. Go straight through to the next door. Go left through this room and find the next door. When you approach it, you will see that it has a red circle on it. This means it's locked. You will have to scan a switch to unlock it. The switch is actually right next to the door. Scan it (it's the orange thing to the right) and go through, but first scan all the other things in the room. Go through the next door. When you enter here, the doors will lock behind you. The only way to unlock the doors is to kill the enemies floating around in the room, called "Psycho Bit 1.0. Just a few shots are needed to take each one down. When they are all gone, the doors will unlock. Go up the small ramp and through the door. Just go straight across this hallway and into the next room. In here, hold L (or the R button) to charge your Power Beam. Use the charged shot to destroy the boxes. Walk through the narrow passageway. Jump over the next bunch of boxes and go through the hole in the wall on the right. You will see a thing called a Petrasyl. Shoot it and grab a Missile refill. You only have a max amount of five so don't use it unless you need em. Right now you need em. Shoot the nearby door with the red border. It will tell you that you need a stronger weapon. Tap the "Missile Icon" on the touch screen. The "Missile Icon" is the thing in the top center of the touch screen. To switch back to the normal beam gun, push the button right next to it. Anyway, use a Missile on the door. Go straight through to the next door. Hang a left and destroy the floating silver things (I keep forgetting to scan them for their proper name), then continue on. When you hit a dead end, you will find a new type of door. All weapons will open this one. The only thing different is its shape and it's color. It is more of an oval shape and it is silver. Go through. The doors will immediately lock. Scan everything, but scan the white diamond thing last. When you do scan it, a bunch of "Psycho Bit 1.0's" will attack. They will leave behind health, so don't forget to pick those up. If the health is out of reach, you can charge up your gun by holding the L button. This will suck the health directly into you. When they are all gone, they will leave a key behind. Scan it, then walk into it. The crystal guarding the "Cartograph Artifact" will disappear, leaving it ripe for the taking. Grab it, then leave through the door that you DIDN'T come through. Go left and kill the Psycho Bits. After you do, continue going left. When you get to an area where you need to jump up a step, go into "Morph Ball Mode." To do so, Push the "Morph Ball Mode" button on the lower right corner of the screen. Roll through the tunnel. You will soon get some health by doing so. Do it for a bit longer to find an Energy Tank (Energy Tank 1). Roll back out of the tunnel, then continue left on foot through the hallway. Kill the Creature (I find this is easiest to do by attacking it from afar). Once you do, the door will unlock. Go through. Go through the next door. In here, you have to jump up the platforms to get to the door at the top. Do so, then go through. And go through the next door. Go right and you will eventually find another bounty hunter. He will slither away in his alt-form. Morph Ball and follow him through the tunnel. At the other end, stay in morph ball mode and continue going right. You will enter another tunnel with some health, and a Missile Expansion at the end (Max 15). Go back in the direction you came from and don't take the tunnel. Go above it and through the door. And through the next. In here is another room where you have to climb up the platforms, but this one is swarming with Petrasyls. Kill them off first, then climb. Go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go right and destroy the boxes for health and ammo, then go left. Go through the door and fight Kanden! +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Kanden | | |===============================+ | | | | Kinda easy if you ask me. Just stand on the upper platform in the middle of | | the room and shoot at him as he scurries around. If you are using Dual Mode | | then you might have a difficult time. Since aiming at that speed is damn | | near impossible, just wait for him to jump up and try to attack you on your | | platform and when he gets close, BAM! Hit him with a charged beam. This will | | take awhile, so only do this if you're in Dual Mode. If you're in stylus | | Mode, then you have a little more control, so shoot him as he scurries along | | the ground and as he shoots from up on the platform at the end of the room. | | That pretty much covers it. He will be gone by your third attempt for sure | | | | Good luck! | | | +==============================================================================+ After you beat him, grab the key up on the platform, the go over to the now unlocked Morph Ball door. Go into Morph Ball Mode and lay a bomb by pushing the L Button. Go inside to grab the Alimbic Artifact. Bomb through the morph ball door and go through the door in the corner on the right. Kill the Alimbic Turrets, then go through the unlocked door. Go through the next door too. Hop up the platforms again. Once at the top, look for a hallway in the wall. It should be right above the blue force field. Walk through and go through the door. Shoot the circles on either sides of both doors. Grab the key, then the third artifact. Go through the next door and step into the newly activated portal. Go straight ahead and through the big oval door with the green force field on it. Go through the next one as well. +==============================================================================+ | Boss Fight: Cretaphid v1 | | |============================+ | | | | The boss is the big pole thing. His only attack uses the big lasers. What | | you need to do, is to shoot all of the blue spots on him. When they are all | | gone, a white thing will come out of the top. Shoot it as much as you can. | | After a short time, it will go back into the big pillar. Start over again. | | Soon, after you deal enough damage to it, it will flash for a second, then | | the lasers will start up again. This time, though, they are closer to the | | ground, and that means closer to you. Just do as much damage to the white | | thing as you can, because that is the only way to hurt him. He'll take you a | | few tries, but he will go down soon enough. Not that tough. Remember, he | | leaves behind health sometimes when you shoot the blue things. Use a charged | | Beam attack to suck the health and ammo towards you. And also, if you are | | having trouble aiming, just aim at the white thing, and leave it aimed at | | that. Move closer to shoot the lower blue spots, and stand right next to it | | to get the lowest ones. | | | +==============================================================================+ When he is toast, grab the first Octolith! Congrats! You have almost finished the first level! Leave through the only door. Go through the next. The second you get through the last door, an alarm will go off and you will receive a message stating that you have eight minutes to evacuate. Just backtrack to your ship. This next paragraph will help you find the ship, but if you feel you can do it on your own, then do it. ******--Backtracking--********************************************************** Run straight across the room and through the portal. Run forward and through the door. Kill off all the enemies and go through the next door. Fall down past the platforms and go through the next door. Go right and through the door. Go through the other door in this room. Go left and kill off all the enemies to unlock the door. Go through. Go through the next door as well. Fall down to the bottom of this room and go through the door. Go through the next door too. Go to the right and get the first Missile Expansion if you haven't already done so, the go back to the left and through the morph ball tunnel. On the other side, run to the next door. When you get there, kill all the enemies, and go through the now unlocked door. Go through the next door as well. Fall down to the bottom of the room and go through the door. Go through the next door also. Head to the left and go through the door. Kill off all the Psycho Bits and go through the only other door in the room. Head left again and go through the only other door. Head up the ramp and make your way through the rest of the room. Go through the door. And again. Go down the ramp and through the next two doors. Kill off the three enemies in here. They aren't that hard, just shoot them down. Go through the other door. Go through the next three doors. YAY!! We made it back to the ship ******--End of Backtracking--*************************************************** Jump onto the ship and go inside. Save your game, then click on "Launch Ship." +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ Well start by running forward and down the ramp. Jump from platform to platform to get across the lake of lava. Go through the door. Go through the next room as well. Walk down the hallway and be careful not to step on any of those plants, because you take damage from doing that. If for some reason you don't have full health, you can shoot the plants. They leave behind health sometimes. Walk across the room and go through the morph ball hole. This next area is a maze. Go left, then right and right again. The second right will come up fast so don't miss it! Go all the way down, then left. When you get to the end, go left just a little, then go right. Go right again, then left. Go straight until you roll down into a small room. Kill off all the enemies, then grab the key to unlock the morph ball door. Go up the ramp that is to the right of the key. Go strait as far as you can (it's not very far at all) and hang a right. Turn left where it forces you to, then go left again, then a very quick right. Go straight all the way, then go left, then left again, down the ramp, and left again. Bomb the morph ball door. Go straight ahead, then go right to find an Energy Tank (Energy Tank 2)! Go back, then left, and left again at the morph ball door. Go right, then lay a bomb. When it explodes, it will push you up into the air. try to land in the hole in the wall. Roll through the tunnel until you get to a room where you can stand up. In here is where the Cartograph Artifact for this level. Bomb the Morph Ball door and go through. Roll through the tunnel. At the end is a small room with several giant insects called "War Wasps." Get out of morph ball mode quickly and shoot the door. We are going to ignore the wasps for now. Anyway, go through the door. Go through the next one as well. In here, you need to kill all the bug like creatures called "Zoomers" to unlock the door. Go through the door. Go left and kill all the bug like creatures in here also. Go through the door. Go left twice, then go to the area where all the small hallways meet together. Look up at the roof. There should be a big hole in it. Jump up through it. +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Spire | | |==============================+ | | | | The fight will start out with spire at the top of the room. Aim up and try | | hit him with a charged shot followed by a bunch of regular shots. Once you | | do a certain amount of damage, he will leave the room. No, the fight isn't | | over, it has just begun. Go around shooting plants for health. When you are | | satisfied with the amount of health you have (or you ran out bushes to kill),| | go up the ramp without the crystal. At the top, you will find more bushes to | | destroy. When you are ready, go past the mushroom and through the door. | | | | Go through the next one too. | | | | Here is where it gets exciting! Go left and scan the Attameter Artifact. You | | can't get it until you beat Spire in the next round of fighting. Go right | | now. You will be trapped by a force field. Kill off the enemy, then kill the | | two blue force fields. If you watch them, you will see that they are creating| | enemies for you. The enemies won't stop coming until you destroy them. When | | you do, look up and start shooting at Spire through the roof. When you do | | enough damage, he will come down and attack you in person. Well, almost. He | | will be in his alt form. The only way to hurt him is to shoot at him with | | Missiles. I find it is easiest to shoot him as he comes towards you, then | | jump out of the way right as he is about to ram into you. When you do enough | | damage, he will run away. Scan the switch on the wall to make a key appear. | | Grab it, then go get the now unlocked Artifact. Go through the door. | | | | Go through the next door also. | | | | Shoot at spire whenever you can. Whenever. Use Missiles also. When you run | | out, use charged shots. Just keep at him. Not that hard. | | | +==============================================================================+ When he is beaten, grab the key, then the artifact. Remember the force Field that kept creating enemies during the Bounty hunter battle? Well, there are three of them in this room. Don't destroy them yet! Wait until they spit out a ton of enemies, then kill the enemies for health. After you are full on health and ammo, you can kill all of the force field things. Go up the ramp that had the Artifact on it. Once at the top, jump onto the middle platform. Look to the right. You should see a cave in the wall just below you. Jump into it and walk to the right for another Missile Expansion (Max 25). Be careful though, because there is a hole in the ground. If you fall through it, you will have to go back up the ramp and try again. When you are done, drop down to the ground and go back up the ramp that had the Artifact on it. Back at the top, jump from platform to platform to get to the top of the other side of the room. Go through the door. Go through the next door also. Look to the right. Scan the switch, then go through the new portal. You should now be at your ship. Go inside, save, and change you options if you want. Exit your ship and go through the portal. Go through the other portal. Go straight ahead and find your way to the boss. I assume you remember the way. +==============================================================================+ | Boss Fight: Slench v1 | | |=========================+ | | | | This is a pretty easy fight. He will have three tentacles surrounding him. | | What you have to do is shoot each one with a charged shot. When you do, the | | tentacle will retract into it's body. Once all three tentacles have been | | dealt with, the body will detach from the wall. You have to shoot it in the | | center where the dot is. Get up close to it when shooting at the body, | | because it moves. The more damage it takes, the faster it will move. Closer | | is better, because it won't ram into you, it will just shoot at you. | | It is very easy. I beat it on my first try. | | | +==============================================================================+ When you are done, grab the Octolith. Don't forget to take the health, because you're going to have to do some fighting on the way out. Leave and head toward the portal. Halfway there, the timer will start up, and you'll have five minutes to escape. Go through the portal. *****--BACKTRACKING--*********************************************************** When you come out on the other side of the portal, you'll be facing a hole in the ground. Jump down that hole. Find the door and use it. Go through the next door also. Jump down to the bottom of this room also, and go down the hole in the floor. Follow the hallway to the right and go through the next four doors. Ignore the wasps and go through the morph ball tunnel. Bomb through the door. +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Weavel | | |===============================+ | | | | Not exactly a good time to fight someone, huh? Well whatever. He will shoot | | at you while moving in a circular motion around the room. Rapidly fire while | | strafing sideways with him. Eventually, he will split into two pieces. One | | will stand in the center of the room while the other one runs around slashing| | at whatever it wants. Since the stationary piece is easy to shoot at, let out| | all your firepower on it. The other piece's movements are two erratic to | | waste time trying to deal with. He will eventually disappear. Follow him | | through the morph ball tunnel, but first destroy the boxes in this room. You | | might need the health. | | | | In here, he will be in one piece again. Keep shooting at him. Try for | | headshots, because it does more damage. Keep at him and eventually | | he will go down. | | | +==============================================================================+ Go through the next door. Jump across the lava using the platforms and get into your ship. Congrats! The second level is out of your way! +==========================+ | Vesper Defense Outpost | +==========================+ Jump straight down off of your ship and walk slightly to the left. Go over the small bridge and hang a right. When you get to the support pillar that you have to walk around, go left and through the door. Go through the next door as well. In here will be many Petrasyls. Kill them for health and ammo. The ones on top give missile refills and the bottom ones give health. Go through the next door when you are ready. And through the next door. Go left down the hallway. At the bottom is an Alimbic Turret v1.4. Just aim up and nail the sucker with two charged shots. Take a right into the next room and destroy the Force Fields that create enemies with a charged shot or two. There are two in need of killing. After you've done that, kill the creatures that have been created by the Force Fields. Once everything is dead, the floor will disappear. Jump down and kill off the two enemies down here. To avoid damage, just strafe left or right the whole time and nail them with charged Beam shots. When they are both dead, grab the key that will appear at the edge of the room. This will make a platform rise and fall. Jump onto it and ride up to the top. Jump off and grab the Artifact! Leave through the only pathway you can, the one you entered through. As you walk through it, look at the bottom of the wall. You should have noticed the morph ball door. Shoot it or bomb it, then roll through after it opens. Bomb through the next door, also. Roll forward into the maze. This maze is way easier than it looks. Roll forward and down the ramp (um, actually, wait for the moving platform to get to the bottom) and bomb jump onto the moving platform. At the top of it's course, go right. A Missile Expansion is here, but to get it you will have to double bomb jump. To do this, lay a bomb. Right before it explodes, lay another. The first one will push you up into the air. At the peak of this "jump," lay a bomb in midair. You will land, but immediately be pushed up into the air by the second bomb. As you are in the air, the third bomb will explode, pushing you up twice as high, and into the Missile Expansion (Max 35). After you do this, roll to the left. Wait for the platform to get to the top, then quickly roll across and stop at the thing shooting white bands. When the green beam of electricity stops, roll into the thing with the white to be shot up to the top. Roll through the morph ball tunnel and past a really weird room. Once at the end, you will have to scan four switches, each one in a corner (or the closest thing to a corner) in that room. After you do, you can grab the first item, the Battlehammer. It will automatically equip. Shoot the little robot on the green Force Field to destroy it. Roll back through the tunnel and into the maze. Drop down to the bottom after the green beam of electricity stops. Go under where the Missile Expansion is (or was), and bomb jump up and to the left. Between the two small white pillars is a Morph Ball Tunnel. Go over to it and hold up on the D Pad to enter it. Follow it and bomb open any doors in your way. When you get out into the open, look left and use your battle hammer to destroy the green Force Field. Remember, you cannot just shoot the Green Force Field! You have to hit the little robot sliding around on the surface. Go through where the Force Field used to be and kill everything in this room. Start on the little turret shooting energy blasts at you, because that shoots the most and will limit your ability to take everything else out. Once that is gone, get the Generators so no more Psycho Bits are created. Lastly, take out the Psycho Bits. Scan the switch between the two Green Force Fields. Next, go to the back of room the room and stand on the box. Jump up while looking at the wall and you should see an alcove in the wall. Jump into it and scan the switch. If you already destroyed the box, just jump up and down while in scan visor. When you're at the peak of your jump, scan the switch. You will have to jump several times, but you will get it done eventually. Head back to the morph ball maze. Once there, drop to the bottom and go left through the morph ball tunnel. Bomb through both of the doors. At the end, you will find the UA Expansion. Now roll through the holes in the walls on the right side of the room. You can do one of two things. I suggest doing the first one. You could roll back into the room with the UA Expansion and shoot at the enemy through the holes in the wall OR you could stand up and fight the enemy in the same room. Either way, once he is dead you will have to go back into the room that the enemy was in and get the key. Go through where the Force Fields used to be. Enter Morph Ball Mode and go through the tunnel. You should roll into a launch pad. This will push you up into another room. In here is the second Alimbic Artifact! Grab it and drop down the hole in the floor next to it. Fight the guardian. Each charged shot takes away more than a whole quarter of it's health. Kill it, then the floor should disappear, letting you drop down into the room with the old UA Expansion. Go through the Morph Ball Door. Go through the next one as well. Roll right through the maze and through the next door. And the next morph ball door as well. Stand up and go straight into the room where we go the first Artifact of the level. Go left and shoot through the Green Force Field. Kill the slug like creature by walking next to it. It will jump up. While it is in midair, Aim up and shoot. It helps to aim up and THEN go next to it and make it jump. After you kill it, a platform should start moving up and down. Jump onto it and ride it up to the top. Scan the orange thing to turn on the portal. Step into it to go to your ship. Get in and save. leave your ship and step onto the launcher to get a ride up to the top. Go through the portal. Go down the hallway. At the end of the hallway is where you will find Sylux. +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Sylux | | |==============================+ | | | | Like almost everything else in this game, he is easy as hell. | | Start by rapidly firing at him. You can do this by holding the L button for | | short amounts of time. If you hold it too long, then it will charge. You can | | try to nail him with charged shots or a combination of the two, but that | | takes time, and as you can see, his weapon locks on and doesn't let go. He | | will be harming you nonstop for at least 75% of the battle. You don't have | | any time. Just concentrate on killing him as fast as you can. After awhile, | | he will go into his alt form. While he is in his alt form, he can't hurt you | | directly. Take this chance to go and get health by shooting at the crates. | | Don't forget that he can drop bombs though. After you get the health, shoot | | at him. He will eventually come out of his alt form, though. Just keep at | | him. Eventually he will go into the room in the center of the battlefield. | | Walk around the hallways while looking for an entrance to the new room. Go in| | and let the battle continue! I find it helps when I jam my back against the | | corner of the room. Just keep shooting. Eventually his ship will arrive. Just| | ignore it, because it doesn't have anything to do with the battle. On second | | thought, go ahead and scan it. You won't have any other chance. After you | | beat him, he will run into his ship and take off. The third Artifact will be | | unlocked, also. Congrats! You beat one of the tougher Bounty Hunters! | | | +==============================================================================+ Go around the hallway surrounding the center room and look for a room pointing outward or away from the center room. In it will be the third Artifact. YAY! We get to go fight the boss now! Go up the ramp. Go through the portal if you want to save, then come back. Go down the elevator. Go forward. Then go right through the room with Psycho Bits. Go through the morph ball door. And go through the next door also. Bomb jump up onto the moving platform at the bottom of the ramp. Ride it up and to the right. Bomb jump up onto the next level. Go through the tunnel between the blue and white pillars. When you get to the next door, go through it. Be careful about exiting through this next one. Go very slowly. If you go fast, you might fall down into a lower room. Then you would have to backtrack. When you enter the room, go left. Come out of Morph Ball Mode and continue walking around the edge of the room until you get to the portal. Then go through it. You know the drill. Go straight ahead until you get to the Boss. +==============================================================================+ | Cretaphid v2 | | |================+ | | | | This will be very similar to the previous boss battle, except that it is | | easier. I expect you to beat this by your third attempt. What you need to do | | is to shoot all of the blue spots. It will have a newer, weaker attack. | | It will shoot green globs of ooze at you. They are slow moving and can be | | destroyed with your gun. The laser attack is gone, by the way. It helps to | | strife in circles around it. You never had to do this in the previous | | version of the Boss Battle, because you could jump over the laser when it | | passed you. I also find it easiest to shoot away all of the blue things on | | the bottom, and work your way up. And of course, when every one of them is | | destroyed, nail the white thing up top. Rinse and repeat. | | | +==============================================================================+ +============+ | Arcterra | +============+ Wow! The music here matches the scenery so well. Anyway, lets get started. Jump off of your ship and scan everything. Then run off the edge and fall down to the bottom of this room. A fall from this height will hurt you a little bit, but it's really no big deal, since you can shoot all of the boxes for health. Go through the door. Moppo adds: You can go into Morph Ball mode on the way down and take no damage. This works in multiplayer too! Go through the next door as well. Walk forward and meet Noxus. +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Noxus | | |==============================+ | | | | Yet another easy bounty hunter fight. Just run under one of the ramps and | | shoot. There are no fancy tactical moves to use against him. Just shower him | | with charged beam shots. If you are under a ramp, then you will be protected | | on two or more sides. Sometimes, he will get stuck under the ramp with you. | | That is bad because then the ramp will trap you next to him while he is | | attacking. Just try to get out form under the ramp when this happens. Once | | you get out, go back in. Sometimes you can trap Noxus under the ramp and | | shoot him while he is cornered. Trace will be in the fight also, but you | | should just ignore him for now. Noxus will be gone in no time at all. | | | +==============================================================================+ When he is gone, one of those enemy creating force fields will be pumping out creatures called Voldrums. Kill the Force field with a few charged shots, then take out the actual enemy. Go into the hallway with the door you just came from and turn right. Go all the way down until you find an Alimbic turret. kill it, then look into the room it was in. Scan the switch on the wall. Proxy lock 6 of 6 has been deactivated. Continue going down the hall and jump up onto the platform next to the locked door. Turn right. Jump up onto the ledge in front of you. When you get to the top, look at the top of the walls and scan Proxy lock 1 of 6. Continue walking along the walkway and turn right at the purple door. Walk up the path and turn right at the top. Scan the pillar to deactivate Proxy Lock 2 of 6. Jump across the gap. There will be an elevator at the end. DO NOT TAKE IT! Instead, turn around and scan the tops of both pillars to Deactivate Proxy Locks 3 of 6 and 4 of 6. Jump down to the right and go into the room with the red door behind a force field. Scan the walls to find Proxy Lock 5 of 6. Go forward and into the hallway. Take the elevator up and cross the broken bridge. Go right and grab the key. Go back across the bridge and down the elevator. Go through the door directly in front of the elevator. Grab the Alimbic Artifact. Then go into morph ball mode and roll under the three bars in the back of the room. An elevator should move you up towards an Energy Tank. When the elevator gets to the top, bomb jump into it (Energy Tank 3). Try to lay the bomb in the middle of the platform. If you are up against the sides you might not jump properly. When you are done, leave the room. Turn right and go all the way down the hall. Go through the door. Go through the next door as well. See that white spot on the ground? Walk on to it. You should fall through it and into a new room. Take out your scanner. Look for a small cave with an orange switch inside. There should be six, but only one doesn't have a Force Field blocking you from the switch. Scan it. The Force Fields in front of all the caves should now be turned off. Scan all of the switches. Once you do, electricity will rush through the wires. This will piss off the Barbed War Wasps. You have to destroy their hives first. Then kill 'em all like you would any other enemy. Once they are gone, power should be restored to everything in the room. Step onto the launcher and follow the hallway to the left. Scan the blue screen at the end of the hallway to open the big metal door on the wall. Jump down and walk up the new ramp. Go to the back of the cave and walk through the hallway to the right. Make your way up the ice ramp and turn right. Use the broken pillar as a bridge. Hang a left and scan the light thingy. It will move some platforms, making it possible to get the Judicator. To get, roll into Morph Ball Mode and roll through the metal bars to the right of the switch. Bomb jump up onto the next platform. This can be hard. You have to move slightly to the right or left of where you lay the bomb, that way it pushes you up diagonally (See the crappy diagram below). KEY ================+ o = Bomb | ----------------| ( ) = You | /\ ----------------| ********* \ \ / = Path that| \ you Should | \ take| ( ) o ----------------| ****************** **** = Platform | ================+ Next, wait until the platform comes down. Lay a bomb and jump onto the platform. You cannot just roll onto the platform, because it is too far away and you will fall. Ride the platform up and roll (you don't have to bomb jump again) to the right. Bomb jump up to the higher path. You will not be able to do this if you haven't scanned the switch OR you did but time ran out. Roll along to the end of the path and onto a moving platform at the end. It will move to the right, then stop. Just wait. It should move up. When it does, roll onto and across the other platforms. Roll up against the wall and go left while staying inside of the wall. Don't push any buttons as you fall down at the end of the wall. Stand up and grab the Judicator. To switch from weapon to weapon, take your stylus and hold it against the symbol to the right of your item switch. It should bring out a menu. Move your stylus over to the item that you want without taking your stylus off of the screen. You probably knew this by now, but I just wanted to make sure you all knew. Anyway, jump down and take out your new weapon to destroy the purple Force Field (not the one at the bottom of the ice ramp). Walk across the bridge and kill all of the Zoomers. Look to the right and destroy the purple Force Field. It looks far away, but you could jump that distance. Once it is destroyed, go ahead and jump across. To the right is another UA Expansion (Max 100), and to the left is a key. Grabbing it will get rid of a force field. Drop down past where the force field was to grab the second Alimbic Artifact. Follow the hallway while killing the plants for health. At the end of the hallway is a portal leading to your ship. Take it. Save and make any changes to your options that you want. When you are done, go back through the portal. Walk through the big brown hallway with all the plants. Go into Morph Ball Mode and roll through the Morph Ball hole. BE VERY CAREFUL, because if you go through the hole too fast, you will fall down into the room below. Roll to the right to find another Missile Expansion (Max 45). Roll back through the hole and continue going through the hallway. Destroy the purple Force Field and go through the door on the right. Go through the next door as well. Turn to the left, and jump up onto the ledge. Go forward and use the Judicator to open the purple door. Go through. Go through the next door also. Kill the Petrasyls, then roll into Morph Ball mode and go down the tube Follow the path to the right. When you get to the end, go up. Don't roll through the green beam, or you'll get hurt. Wait for it to stop. Go right at the top. You should eventually come to a hole in the ice. Triple Bomb jump through the hole in the ice to get the key. Backtrack to the Morph Ball door and go through it. At the end of the tunnel is the third Artifact. Go back into the maze. From the door to the artifact, go right, then follow the path going down. When you get to the area with a tunnel going to the right, go left all the way. Then go up and right. Go past the green beams for another Energy Tank (Energy Tank 4). Go down and left a little, then go right. Go down at the Morph Ball tunnel, past the green beams, around the curve and to the left. Follow the path back to the beginning of the maze. Go up the tunnel and through the door. Go through the next door also. Go straight ahead and down the ledge. Go through the door on the right. Go through the next door also. I suggest that you go through the brown hallway to the right and destroy the plants for health. At the end of the hallway is the portal leading to your ship. Save and adjust you options to the way you want them for the boss fight. Go back through the portal when you're ready. Walk back through the brown hallway, past the door, and through the narrow hallway. Scan the green screen to open the door on the wall. Jump down into the lower room and go through the door. Kill the hive on the wall, then kill the ice blue wasp. Shoot the purple Force Field and continue on. Go up the ice ramp and past where there used to be a Force Field. Go across the slippery bridge and through the portal. +==============================================================================+ | Boss Fight: Slench v2 | | |=========================+ | | | | He will be almost exactly the same as last time, except that this time the | | tentacles surrounding him can not be harmed by the regular beam. You will | | have to use the Judicator against him. The Battlehammer will not work. Just | | destroy the tentacles holding him to the wall, then give him a few charged | | shots when he begins floating around. Your regular beam will work on him | | while he floats around, but it damages so slowly that being able to rapidly | | fire doesn't help all that much. Just use the Judicator the whole time | | through. When you run low on health and Ammo, go stand by the door and take | | out your regular beam gun. When you're way back here, the orange blasts | | don't hit you, they blow up before they get to you. The green blobs are | | different, however. This is good, because now you can shoot them with the | | Power Beam. You get health and ammo for doing this. Use a charged Power Beam | | to suck the energy towards you. When you are all healed up, go back into the | | fight. | | | +==============================================================================+ When he is beaten, you will have seven minutes to escape. ***--Backtracking--************************************************************* Go through the portal. Drop down next to the portal to the ship. Head through the brown hallway and go through the door on the right. Go through the next door as well. Drop straight down and go forward. You should notice that there is a Force Field in the way. Head left. Go up the ice covered ramp and across the area with stone flooring. Half way across, you will encounter trace. +==============================================================================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Trace | | |==============================+ | | | | The battle will start out with Trace trying to snipe you from up high. Just | | use your charged beam to inflict damage. He will sometimes become invisible, | | so you will probably lose track of him several times. After you inflict | | enough damage, he will come down and fight you hand to hand. He will use | | his triskelion a lot (the Triskelion is his alt form). He will lunge at you, | | but other than that, he doesn't have any real attacks. If you lose track of | | him, look at your radar. You don't have the time to sit around and wait for | | him to magically appear right in front of you, you will have to search for | | him. Good luck! | | | +==============================================================================+ Find the hallway that had the force Field blocking your way. Go into it and go through the door at the very end of it (not the door with the small step in front of it). Go through the next door as well. Walk to the other side of the big tree trunk and climb up the steps. You will soon be blocked by a force field. Fight the enemies, then climb back up the tree trunk. At the top is your ship. Get in it. +======================+ | Celestial Archives | +======================+ In case you haven't figured it out, you need to go to the Celestial Archives next. Go through the door directly in front of your ship. Go through the winding hallway and through the next door. And the next. Head to the right side of this room. Go past the ramps and through the next door. Head straight across this small room and into the next. Go up the ramp and through the next door. And through the next door as well. Go to the right (where else can you go), and shoot the boxes to replenish any health you might have lost. Go down the ramp to the right. Try to make your way across this area without getting hurt by the Petrasyls. Don't bother trying to kill them all, because they will just keep respawning. Once you get to the other side of the room, go right through a hole in the wall. Jump down and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go left, and keep going left until you get to the end of the hallway. Go through the door on the right. Kill the guardian. Then go through the next door. If you are not sure which door is the door you should go through, just go up to each door and open them. Don't actually leave the room, just open them and look out. If there are some Psycho Bits to the left, then it's the right door. If it is silent outside, then you are at the wrong door. Find the right door and go through it. Go to the left and kill the enemies. If you went through the right door, there will be a Lesser Ithrak to deal with. Kill it and go through the next door. Go through the next door as well. Climb up the platforms to get to the top of the room. Go through the door. Go through the next door. Go to the right and through the green door. Well actually, you could go through any green door, but for the sake of making it easier to follow my guide, please go through the door on the right. Oh, and the Battlehammer is needed to open the green doors. There are many things in here. Lets kill the first three. The guardians have really good weapons this time. You will be blinded for almost half of the battle. The avoid the blinding shots, walk around the outside of the room while facing inside or slightly behind you. Keep pumping out charged shots. They will eventually be killed, letting you deal with the two other things. First, up on the center platform is another UA Expansion (Max 130). Next, Go to the end of the room and jump up next to the Morph Ball hole. Inside one of them is the Volt Driver!! Now, to get out of here, just look at the doors. Only one of them is not green. That is the door that you came through. If you came through the door I told you to, then you will want to exit through the door directly across from the one that is not green. The next door to go through *should* be to the left a little. Go through. Go straight through this hallway and into the next room. Climb up the platforms again. This time, there will be many enemies in your way. Just shoot them out of the way and continue up. Go through the next door. Head to the left. Go through the only door. Kill the guardian. There are only two doors in this room. Stand in the center of the room and look towards the doors. The one on the right is the one to go through. Head right and go through the first door on the left. Go through the next door as well. On the floor in here is a portal. I cannot remember if you could activate it the first time you came through here, or if you can only activate it now. Either way, you need to go through it. Here we are, back at your ship. Save, then go back through the portal. Climb up the platforms and stop when you get to the Yellow Force Field. Use your Volt Driver to destroy it, and then enter through where it was. Follow the hallway to the elevator at the end. Ride the elevator up and get off at the top. Step into the launcher to be blasted across the room. Use your Volt Driver to open the orange door. Jump into the portal. This can be hard if you don't know what your doing. First, walk through the one way Force Field and around to one of the the sides of the hill in the center of the room. Stay in the lower part of the ramp while fighting the two guardians. this will protect you a little bit. Then go up the high part of the ramp and destroy the generators on the floor. Then kill the three golden Psycho Bits. Make sure to kill the Psycho Bits AFTER the generators. After you kill one, the section of Force Field below the Psycho Bit will disappear. After you kill them all, the entire floor will be Force Field free. Drop down to where the Force Field was and shoot the switches on the wall. This will deactivate the Force Fields at the front of the room. Go down the ramp and shoot the switches in the grooves that used to be protected by the Force Fields. Once all three of the bottom switches are shot, the Force Field blocking the top room will vanish. Go up to where the Psycho Bits were and go into the little room up there. Scan the blue screen in the back of the room. Leave the little room area and follow the little paths on the left and right sides around to the front. Cross the skinny bridge and go past the white Force Field. Go through the Portal. I hate this part. First, a Guardian will attack from the left. Try to push it back. If you are making it back away from you, then it can't shoot your backside, which is the hardest spot to protect. It also can't run around, so you never lose sight of it. Kill it, then grab the Key in the middle of the room. Step onto the moving platform right in front of it. The platform should take you to the Cartograph Artifact. Take the platform back and DON'T FALL!!! If you fall, you die. It's the same as if you run out of energy. You have to start back at the last checkpoint. Wait a minute. I thought you couldn't fall in space because of the lack of gravity. Anyway, climb up the small ramp that the key was on. Once at the top, climb up the small hump to the left or the right. Then jump onto the bridge above the ramp that had the key. Follow it to the end. There will be four platforms out here. (See the little map below) (A)__(B) || (C)||(D) || || Take Platform (A). At the end of it will be a UA Expansion (Max 160). Go back and take platform (D). At the end is a portal. Take it. In here is a Crash Pillar. Just aim up and shoot it's underside when it jumps. After you kill it, you will be thrown into a fight. Kill the Generators and the Psycho Bits. Then the Generators on the floor will come to life, and three Guardians will join the battle. Kill the Guardians first, then get the Voldrums. Take a look around before you kill off the Crash Pillar. Find out where your enemies will be. Find the hallway at the end of the room. That is a good place to hide when the Guardians are attacking. Shoot the crates for health, then look at the side of the room with two portals. Go through the one on the left. Walk straight ahead and grab the Missile Expansion (Max 55). Go back through the portal. Now go through the portal next to the Blue Force Field. Drop down and kill the two Guardians, then go through the portal in front of the blue computer screen. You should be in the area with the the four platforms. Take Platform (D) again. Go through the portal. Head through the portal on the right. DON'T DROP DOWN!!! If you do, go back through the portal in front of the blue Computer screen. Anyway, go left past the artifact and turn left before the next portal. Left again. Grab the key, then go back and grab the Alimbic Artifact. Head back toward where you got the key. Instead of turning left, go straight into the portal. Don't drop down here either. Go to the left and down the big hole straight ahead. In here is the Shock Coil. You now have half of your special weapons, and half of your Octoliths, so by my logic, you are half way through the game. (b^-^)b Shoot the Blue Force Field with the Shock Coil and go through the portal on the left. Kill the Guardians, then destroy the Blue Force Field. Go through the portal. Go through the door. Go through this curved hallway and through the next door. This room has been badly damaged. A lot of it is exposed to space. Don't fall through a hole in the floor. Progress through this room and you will find some Psycho Bits. Kill them and don't worry, there is no generator. When you get to a big gap, jump it. It looks big, but that is only because it is so much lower than you are. It is a hard jump, though. Edge right up before you jump to get the most distance. In hard spots like this, you can walk on top of the bottom part of the wall. When you get to the door, go through it. Go through the next door as well. Go straight through the hallway and through the next door. In here are three creatures called Quadtroids. They latch onto you and can only be knocked off by a Morph Ball Bomb. You can shoot them with your gun, though. Kill em and go through the next door. Kill the golden Psycho Bits. Scan the switch to activate the Portal. Go through it. Enter your ship and save. Then go back through the portal. Kill off all the Psycho bits, even the ones up high. They don't have a Generator, so once you kill them all, they are gone. Wait for the platform to come down. Ride it up, then jump across to the next one. At the very top, you will see a hallway. Jump into it. Go through to the next batch of elevators. Look down when jumping, so you can control where you are gonna land better. About half way down you'll see a room in the side wall. Jump to it. You should get locked in. Scan the information in this room. Once you do, a key will appear. Grab it to unlock the last Alimbic Artifact. Kill the enemy and leave. Continue going down. Once at the bottom, walk through the hallway. On the other side, jump onto the moving platform. As it goes up, jump onto the piece of wall sticking out at the bottom. Then jump from that to the stationary platform. And from that to the Energy Tank (Energy Tank 5). Now, you might want to go back and save. After you do, go back to the room with the Energy Tank. Ride the platforms up. Once at the top, jump to the door. Inside is the Portal. Go straight ahead to meet Slench again. +==============================================================================+ | Boss Fight: Slench v3 | | |=========================+ | | | | This is getting old. The nice thing is that you only have to fight him once | | more after this. Not too much has changed since the last time. First of all, | | you can only hurt his tentacles with your BattleHammer. The BattleHammer's | | ammunition doesn't fly in a straight line, it curves towards the ground, so | | you will have to aim a little above where you would normally shoot. Also, if | | you want to kill the tentacles really quickly, hold the L or R Button to | | rapidly fire the Battlehammer. When you have shot all his tentacles, shoot | | his eye. You will need to use a better weapon then the power beam. You can | | use the shock Coil, but you will probably run out of ammo, no matter how | | many UA Expansions you have. You could also use the Judicator or the Volt | | Driver. Both work well. Another good choice is the BattleHammer. It is a | | little stronger then the other weapons. The problem with the BattleHammer is | | the arc. It will aim downward when you are in the most action packed part of | | the boss fight. That reminds me!! He has some new attacks! He will be | | dropping bombs on you while he is in the air. Also, when he starts to shake | | and he closes his eyes, RUN! Morph Ball to the side and don't forget to use | | the Morph Ball Boost! He will ram into you. This is not an attack you want | | to be hit by. Rinse and Repeat. Don't forget that if you are running low on | | health, you can go to the back of the room and shoot the green blobs as they | | fly towards you. Sometimes they leave behind health, and the other attacks | | that are shot at you don't reach that far; they blow up right before they | | hit you, leaving you unharmed. Not a very hard fight. Enjoy! | | | +==============================================================================+ When he is dead, collect the health laying around the edge of the room. Grab the Octolith and leave. You will have eight minutes to escape this time. ***--Backtracking--************************************************************* Start by going through the portal. Go through the three elevator rooms. I'm not going to walk you through this. Probably because I'm so lazy. But remember that when you are in an elevator room where you have to go down, just find the pathway at the bottom and jump onto it. Don't waste time on the elevators if you don't have to. Walk through the hallways and into the badly damaged room. Jump over the gaps. When you get to the really big gap, climb up the platforms to the right. Go through the door at the end. Go through the portal. Walk over to the blue computer screen and go through the portal next to it. Jump down to the right and find the portal. Jump down to the ground. Go up the ramp and through the white screen. Head through the portal. Go through the door. Drop down to the bottom and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go to the right and head through the door at the end. Kill the Guardian. Don't take your time, because you will run out. then stand in the middle of the room and look at the two doors. You will want to go through the one on the left. Head down the hallway and go through the door at the end. Go through the next door as well. Drop down to the bottom of this room while avoiding the Petrasyls. Go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go left and through the door. Kill off both Guardians, then go through the door to the right of the Morph Ball tunnel. There will be two different tunnels, so you will want to go through the door to the right of the one with a platform in front of it. Head left and go through the first door on the right. Go through the next door as well. Drop to the bottom of this room and go through the door. Go through the next door also. Go left. DON"T DESTROY THE PSYCHO BITS!!!! We are going to use them in a second. go through the door. Fight the last Guardian. Then go through the next door. To figure out which door is the right one, just stick your head out of each one. If there are many Psycho Bits outside of one door, then that is the wrong door. If you killed the Psycho Bits even though I told you not to, then you will have to just guess. Anyway, just go through the door without any Psycho Bits outside em. Go to the left. Pass the Psycho Bits and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go up the ramp and past the boxes. Make your way through the passage way and exit the room through the door at the end. Go through the next door as well. Go through the hallway here and through the next door too. Kill the Guardians. Whoops! I guess these are the last Guardian. Oh well, I don't feel like fixing the above statement. Just kill him and continue to your ship through the next two hallways. +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ Start out by entering the portal to the left of your ship. Go through the door on your left. And go through the next door as well. In here will likely be a bounty hunter. From this point on, you will have to deal with random bounty hunter fights. If there isn't a bounty hunter in here, there will be some Guardians. Kill off the bounty hunter. Shock coil works great against them, but a few charged beam shots will be fine. When they are taken care of, drop down through the hole in the center of the floor. Walk along the outside tunnels. Look for a Morph Ball tunnel being blocked by a purple Force Field. Shoot it with the Judicator. Go into Morph Ball Mode and roll through. This is... different. You will have to drop down a narrow vertical pool of lava. Along the way you will find lots of energy, so don't worry about dying. Roll down to the bottom, and then to the left. Once at the end, lay a bomb to propel yourself up. When your in the lava, bombs push you up way higher. Lay another bomb to push yourself up even higher. This time you won't quite make it up to the next platform. Right as you are about to stop, lay all your bombs. One of them is bound to push you up higher. At the top is another UA Expansion (Max 190). Lay one last bomb to push yourself up through the exit. There might be another hunter that needs killing in here, so deal with it, then go up the ramp that had the Alimbic Artifact. You can do two things here. Continue going up to get Missile Expansion #3 (see Missile Expansion section for more details) or shoot the purple Force Field. Blast it with the Judicator. Continue up past where it was. An Alimbic Turret will be firing at you, so go to the top and kill it. Ignore the door we passed. Once at the very top, walk around the outside of the curved wall and scan the switch. This will activate a platform. Take it across to the other side. Shoot the door with the Judicator and jump across the gap in the floor. Go through the door. Go through the door on the other end of the hallway. Start by killing the wasp and the beetle things, then go up the hill of concrete blocks. Go past the mushroom and into a new area of the room. The first thing you should notice here is the ship flying low overhead. There is nothing else to do in here, so jump over the platforms and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go into Morph Ball Mode and roll through the tunnel. At the other end will be a huge lake of lava. Jump onto the platform that comes right up to the ledge that you start out on, then ride it out into the middle of the lake. Jump onto the next platform and ride it to either the left or right side of the room. Jump onto the next one and ride it to a ledge with a Morph Ball tunnel. Go through it. You should now be on the other side of the fence. Kill the Psycho Bit 3.0's and go through the Morph Ball tunnel near the launcher. Head through the door. Go through the next door also. This is a hard fight. Kill off the guardians. Then go through the door to the left of the one we came through. Head through the next door as well. Shoot the crates for some health or ammo, then walk through the orange force field. +==============================================================================+ | Mini Boss: Fire Spawn | | |=========================+ | | | | Welcome to the first Mini Boss fight (not counting Bounty Hunters). It is | | pretty easy, if you know what to do. First, walk to the left and behind the | | rock wall. Charge your Power Beam up and nail it in mouth. It only holds | | it's mouth open for a short time, so be quick. When it leans back, run to | | the side! It will throw a fiery lump of magma at you. If you are hit by it, | | you will take on a lot of damage. Your gun will catch fire and you will | | receive damage nonstop until the fire goes out. Avoid this at all costs! | | Anyway, be careful because the wall of protection doesn't always protect | | you. Quite often, the fireballs will go straight through it and hit you. | | That is why you must keep running to the side until after it throws it's | | fireball. Then you can go back and try again. Not too hard. | | | +==============================================================================+ After you beat him, you will acquire the Magmaul! To get, just follow the path with the rock wall until you get to a deactivated launch pad (you may have activated it already). Turn around, and go up the path heading up. Jump on top of the rock wall and grab it. Next, jump back onto the path heading up and shoot the orange force field. Go inside to find another Energy Tank (Energy Tank 6)! Go back down the path. When you get to the deactivated launch pad, turn right (as if there was any other direction to turn). Continue down the path until you come across two orange force fields. Shoot the one on the right with the Magmual and go to the right. Kill off the guardian(s) and make your way to the end of the room. Scan the orange thing on the wall. Now turn around and go back to where the guardian attacked you. Instead of turning left into the room with the Mini Boss, go straight into the room with the launcher (this is the room we just unlocked). Jump onto the launch pad and ride it up to the top. Follow the path to a big open room. Kill the Voldrums and again, get the generators first. After they are dead, stand in the middle of the room. Look at the two hallways. the one on the left is the one you will want to go through. Inside is a portal to the ship. Take it. Save, then go back through the portal on the right. Go back into the big room and go through the door on the left. Go through the next door as well. First, walk over to the right. Look at the big round pipe in the center of the room. It may look hollow, but it actually has an elevator inside of it. Jump into it and go into Morph Ball Mode. Wait until you get to the very bottom, then roll through the Morph Ball tunnel. Go through the Morph Ball door. Go through the next one as well. This is HELL!!!! What you have to do is to roll across the bridge without getting pushed off by the pistons. The next seven paragraphs are all the same room. I've divided it up to make it easier to read and to follow. -------------------------- First Bridge- Wait until the piston closest to you has gone back as far as it can, and the other one is almost all the way back. Quickly Boost Ball across the length of the first bridge. If you fall off, roll back to where you first started and roll onto the land on the left side of the bridge. Second Bridge- The next length is a bit tougher. Wait until the nearest piston is completely retracted and the second piston is pushing out. Roll straight into the second piston. If timed correctly, it will stop you, rather then push you into the lava. Wait until the second one retracts, then Boost to the end. If you fall off, roll back to the beginning of the second bridge and roll onto the land near the lower right of the screen. Bomb jump onto the higher part of this land and try again. Third Bridge- Just boost across the bridge as soon as the pistons start to retract. If you fall off, roll back to the beginning of this bridge and lay a bomb while in the lava to bomb jump onto land. Some people find it easier to stop between the last two pistons. First Hallway- Go past the first piston and stop. Then when the next two start to open up, boost straight across. Don't Stop! Not at the end, not ever. If you get crushed, you have to do everything all over again. Go through the Morph Ball tunnel. First room- Roll onto the first piston going up, then roll off and under the next one going down. Don't let it squash you, because then you will have to do everything over again. This is how it works; They all move slow, some up some down. Then they all move fast. You want to be under one that is going down slowly, then get under one going up when it moves fast. This avoids being crushed. The one at the end is tricky. Two different pistons move into each other. Just be quick to roll to the right before they hit. Roll onto the next one and ride it up to the top. Roll to the right and follow the hallway around to the next room. Second Room- Bomb jump onto the block and roll to the right while trying not to to get squashed. Bomb jump onto the fourth one. You will be safe up here, because the top one doesn't come all the way down. Wait till the one to your right is all the way up, then roll down to the right, under the next one, and wait for the last one to come all the way down. Ride it to the top and roll to the right. In here is an Alimbic Artifact. Bomb jump your way up the steps. Roll to the right and grab the shield key. Drop down and grab the Alimbic Artifact. Cool. now go back up the stairs and through the morph ball door at the top. ---------------------- (End of the seven part room.) Go through the next door as well. As soon as your through the door, you will fall down into another room. Look familiar? It should. Stand up and step into the launch pad. At the top and to the left is a UA Expansion (Max 190). Jump across and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go into the room on the right (it's the room with the portal). Then walk into the round room on the left. Kill all the Petrasyls (eventually they will stop respawning), then scan the orange computer screen. The floor below you will disappear. Grab the key and drop down. Shoot the switch to activate the launcher (you might have already done this), then step into it to be pushed up into the artifact. If you were standing on the floor when you scanned the computer, then just activate the launch pad first, then go up and get the key, drop down, and use the launch pad to get the Artifact. When you are done, drop to the bottom and destroy the last orange force field. weave down through the short hall and go through the door. Go through the next door as well. In here you will find a ramp on the left side of the room. Take it. Half way up, you will notice an Alimbic Turret shooting at you on your left. Turn around and give it a few charged shots. Go up and kill the Voldrums and their generators. Find the short ramp in the middle of this flat area. Go up it and shoot the orange Force field to the right. Past the force field and to the left is another Missile Expansion (Max 65). Next, go to the right of the orange force field and up the ramp. Find and shoot the switch on the wall to the left. This will move a platform. Go past the orange force field and down to the bottom of the main room. Find the really short, fat pillar and shoot the switch on its side. Then go up the narrow ramp on the side of the valley with the door. Near the middle of the ramp, you will find a switch on the wall. Once you have shot all three, go back up the the orange force field and jump onto the first platform with a launch pad. It will hurl you onto a ledge with an orange computer. Scan it to unlock the door. Jump onto the next platform (it's low to the ground, so be careful not to jump to far or to land short [to avoid this, just look down when you jump]). This platform will send you into another one, which will throw you up to the next door. Go through it. Go through the next door as well. Kill the first mushroom you see and jump onto that platform. If you fall, just climb back up using the small rocks at the end of the room. Get the key. Drop down and walk through the crevasse to get the final Alimbic Artifact. Go through the nearest door. Go through the next door as well. Walk forward and drop down. Head to the left and through the door to the mini boss room (NOT up the ramp). Through teh next door as well. Head through the hallways and up the pathway. Ride the launcher up and go through the portal. You know the deal. Save and go back. Go into the big room to the left and through the left door. Next door as well. Drop to the bottom of this room and go through the portal Go straight ahead to the boss. +==============================================================================+ | Cretaphid v3 | | |================+ | | | | This boss is just more of the same. Shoot the blue spots while avoiding the | | green blobs. The laser attack is back, and it's more powerful than before. | | Kill the blue spots and shoot the white thing at the top. Use your regular | | beam gun, it gets the job done quick, without running out of ammo. Also, you | | can kill the spots that shoot the laser. Now think a little. Do you get hurt | | more from the green blobs, or the laser. The answer is different for | | everyone. If the laser tends to give you more damage than the blobs, then | | kill the laser first. If the blobs tend to hurt you more, kill every non | | laser spot first. | | | +==============================================================================+ That was quick. Well, you now have 5:00 minutes to escape. Lets get started. ***--Backtracking--************************************************************* Go forward and through the portal. Find the pillar with the launch pad inside. Ride it to the top of the room. Jump over to the door on your right. Go through it. Go through the next door as well. Might be a bounty hunter in here. Kill it and go through the hallway opposite of the door we just came through. Drop down the hole at the end. Follow the path directly in front of you. When it forks into two paths take the one on the left going down. Walk past the orange force field and go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Go through the door on the right. Ignore any guardians in here. Go through the next one as well. Go into Morph Ball mode and and roll through the tunnel. Be careful not to fall into the lava at the end. Jump straight into the Launcher and fly across the room (Don't bother killing the Psycho Bits). Roll through the tunnel and go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Run straight across to the other side. Ignore the Wasps. Killing them will only slow you down, and besides, they are so easy to avoid. When you get to the other side, go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Jump down to the bottom and through the big hole. Make your way to the perimeter of this room and go around through each door until you get to the normal triangle style door. Go through it. Go through the next one as well. Kill off one or two of the wasps to make it easier to get to the other side of the room, then go through the tunnel. Kill off any guardians at the end, then go through the next tunnel (the next tunnel is the one that does not curve at the beginning). Fight off any bounty hunters, then continue through the next door. Go through the next door as well. Jump across the platforms and get into your ship. +============+ | Arcterra | +============+ Exit your ship and drop down to the bottom. Roll into a ball before hitting the ground to avoid damage (credit for that tip goes to Moppo). Go through the door. Go through the next door as well. There might be a hunter to deal with in here. Kill him off, then go back to the door leading to Arcterra Gateway (the room with your ship). Don't go through the door; we are only using it as a reference point. From that door, go through the opening to the left of the orange switch. Straight ahead is the room with the force field. You should notice that the force field is no longer there. Use the Magmaul to open the door. Go through the next door as well. You should be in the room labeled as the "Fault line". Kill off all the enemies in this room to disable the force field at the other end. Walk through the tunnel to find your next mini boss. +==============================================================================+ | Mini Boss: Artic Spawn | | |==========================+ | | | | This guy is extremely similar to the Fire spawn we encountered on Alinos. | | The only differences are that he throws ice at you. You will want to avoid | | those, because they freeze you in place for a short amount of time. To harm | | him, you will need to use either the Magmaul or charged power beam shots. | | The Magmaul does more damage, but the Power Beam does a decent amount of | | damage too. Either way, this fight is really easy. I recommend using the | | Power Beam, because it doesn't take up ammo, and it doesn't make the fight | | any harder. Just don't use any other weapon, because while they do damage | | him, they don't damage him enough, and they waste ammo. You should be able | | to kill him on your first try. | | | +==============================================================================+ Next to the door is the last weapon: the Imperialist! This weapon is like a Sniper Rifle. You can zoom in when shooting with it. To Zoom: Double Tap the Special Weapons button or push Select. Zoom in on the red switch and shoot it. This will activate an elevator. Ride it up to the second level. Find the Launch Pad and ride it up even higher. Stand on the ledge and shoot the two red switches on the other side of the force field to deactivate it. Walk up to the top of the ledge and drop down into the new area. Kill all of the Psycho Bits, then find the computer screen. Scan it to shut off the security system guarding the Alimbic Artifact. Now, from the computer, go right to find a key. Go back towards the computer. Half way there, you should see a path to the right. Go up it and use a Missile to shoot the base of the pillar at the top. The pillar will fall over, turning into a bridge. Walk across and to the right. Jump across the gap and onto a new ledge. Follow it back and drop down into the old area. Drop down Through the next gap and go through the tunnel on the left. You should come across the artifact near the end. It will be in an alcove on the right. Go back to the room where we fought the mini boss and ride the elevator up. Walk along the left side of the gap and you should find a portal. Activate it by scanning the orange switch. Go into your ship and save, then go back through the portal. Drop down through the gap again. This time go through the red door. Go through the next door as well. Roll through the tunnel to get into the annoying maze from the first visit. Roll all the way to the left, then roll all the way up, then go left past the green laser, and follow the path to the tunnel at the end. Go through the red door. Go through the next one as well. First head to the left. You should eventually come to a UA Expansion (Max 220). Drop down. Kill the creature lurking here, then find the computer. Take out your scanner. Look up and to the right to find Spectral lock 3. Lock 2 is right behind lock three. Scan it, then head right. Lock 1 is behind a white wall to the left of the shield containing the Artifact. Once all three have been scanned, take out your Imperialist and shoot the red switch. Jump onto one of the rocks, and then onto the narrow ledge. Follow it to the Shield Key. Now go and grab the Artifact. One more to go! No time to celebrate, though. You have to kill off two Guardians. Take refuge in the area leading up to the door. This will protect your back and sides. They should come in through the opening, but you will have to lure them first. Once they are done, go up and through the door. Head through the next one as well. Roll through the tunnel and down the next path. When you pass the green laser, go all the way down through the first path. Go right all the way and through the tunnel. Go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Head up the elevator, and go through the portal. Save again, then go back. Ride the closest launch pad up and go through the door. Head through the next one as well. When you enter this room, you will be on a moving platform. Enemies will be flying at you. You must kill them before they hit you. But first, fall off. Go back to the beginning and climb up the rocks to find the launch pad. Get on it and fly up. You should find another UA Expansion (Max 250). (Note: If you have problems falling off, just go into Morph Ball Mode.) If you fall off more then half way there and you don't want the expansion or already have it, just go on in the tar. You will eventually get to another Launch pad on the other side. Go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Have you ever been to a Fair or Carnival that had one of those "House of Mirrors" mazes? Well this is just like that, except you have to shoot the red switches. Go to the corners of the room and shoot the switches. You might need to jump on some of them. When you do, you will be able to reach the circular imprint on the ground (which is really a elevator). At the bottom is a Missile Expansion (Max 75). Halfway between there and the elevator is a hallway with a floor of Ice. Go down the hall and turn left. Kill the Alimbic Turret and grab the shield key. Go down the other end of the hall to get the final Artifact. Go back up the elevator and head back to the door. You will suddenly be swarmed with guardians. Use the Imperialist or the Power Beam (or Missiles, but I haven't tried that yet) to kill them. When they are gone, go through the door. Go through next one as well. Ride the platform back to the other side and get that UA Expansion if you have not yet done so. Go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Head through the portal and save. Then go up the launch pad on the other side of the room. You know, the area with the giant pillar. Go there and go through the portal. +==============================================================================+ | Boss Fight: Cretaphid v4 | | |============================+ | | | | This fight is the same as last time. The only difference is that the pole | | will actually move around. Remember to circle him when shooting his blue | | spots. And stand clear of him before you shoot the final spot. It's really | | annoying to kill all the blue spots, just for him to move into a position | | that blocks you from shooting his brain. When you beat him, party! This is | | the last time you that will ever fight him. WOOT! | | | +==============================================================================+ After you beat him, grab all the energy that he left behind. Grab the Octolith, and leave. Seven down, one to go! *** Backtracking *************************************************************** You will have four minutes to get to your ship. It won't be very hard. Start by going through the portal. Climb up to the top of the hill and walk across the fallen pillar. Jump across the gap (don't forget to destroy the plant on the other side first) and walk into the next part of this room. Drop to the very bottom, and go through one of the tunnels. At the end should be a door. Go through it. Go through the next one as well. Run straight across this room while avoiding the enemies. Go into the cave on the other side. Go through the door to the left. Go through the next one as well. Climb up to the top of this room and enter your Gunship. *** End of Backtracking ******************************************************** +==========================+ | Vesper Defense Outpost | +==========================+ Start by going over to the nearest launch pad and riding it up to the top. Take the portal. Once on the other side of the portal, drop down the elevator hole. You might need to fight a bounty hunter down here. When you are done, take out your Imperialist and shoot through the red door. Go through the next one as well. This room is creepy. First of all, you will have to destroy the Generators and the Voldrums. Then go through the next door. It will be broken. Apparently, guardian carcasses are jamming the door open. Walk through it and make your way up the ramp. Go to the right. You should find another area with an orange tank. Look for a rectangular opening in the wall. It doesn't look like much, but if you follow it to the back, you will find a big machine hanging from the ceiling. Jump onto a small ledge in the wall, the jump onto the machine. You should soon find a UA Expansion (Max 280). Jump down and go back to the room with the big tank. As you come out of the rectangular opening, look straight ahead. To the left of the tank is a hallway with a locked door at the end. Go down that hallway and turn left. You should see a deactivated portal to the left, and a computer to the right. Scan the computer. It will activate another computer. This next computer will be back at the entrance to this room, past the jammed door. Use your Morph Ball to get there as quickly as you can. This will be timed, so you have to be fast. When you do scan it, a Shield Key will appear. This one is in the room with the UA Expansion. Grab it, then drop down and get the Artifact. When you get the Artifact, all of the guardians in both tanks will come to life and swarm you. Kill them off to make another Shield Key appear. Grab it (it's behind the orange tube in the hallway between the computer and the ramps), then get the second artifact. The doors will all unlock. Go through the one near the upstairs computer. Go through the next one as well. Ride the elevator up. At the top, jump towards the door. Scan the orange switch to activate the portal. Go through it. You know the drill; save at your ship, change options if you like, etc. Then go back through the portal on the small platform. Go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Follow the path to the left. Suddenly, there will be an energy overflow! Continue following the path until you see a launch pad. Ride it up and land on a platform sticking out of the wall. Jump from platform to platform to get to the top. When you do, go through a bug infested hallway, followed by another smaller hallway. At the end is another launch pad. Ride it up, then climb the next platforms. At the top is a permeable force field. Walk through it. Follow the ledge around to the left, climb the next three platforms, then follow the next ledge to an elevator. Ride the elevator up. When it stops, jump from it, to the computer. Scan it and the energy proplem should stop. Ride the elevator back down and get off. Wait for it to go back up, and then drop down to the next ledge. Fall through the hole below where the elevator was first parked, and go towards the topmost Force Field. Scan the computer to the left to weaken the force field, then walk through it. Drop down and grab the Shield Key, then go through the hallway. You will get to a small room with two other hallways. Go through the small one. Once at the end, you will see a force field and a launch pad. Go through the force field. Jump across to the other Ice ramp and follow it down for another Missile Expansion (Max 85). Follow the ramp back up and go through the force field at the top. Walk through the hallway and grab the Very Last Alimbic Artifact of the game. Now, if you are daring, you can jump down the center of the the room and try to land on the side. If you would like to take the safer approach, then drop down to where the Shield Key was. Walk down the pathway, and go through the hallway to the left (the bigger Hallway). Drop down the hole at the end, than follow the path to the right. Go through the door. Go through the next one as well. You should probably go through the portal and save. When you get back, go down the elevator and through the door. Go through the next one as well. Walk straight ahead and go through the Boss Portal. +==============================================================================+ | Boss fight: Slench 4a | | |=========================+ | | | | Welcome to your final battle with Slench. The method that we'll use is the | | same as always. Shoot the tentacles, then the main eye. The only difference | | is that he is on the roof. Oh, and he has a new attach! He rolls on the | | ground. Just go stand in the back corners of the room. He moves in a | | Figure 8. This movement does not change. He never tries to squash you, he | | just moves in a figure 8. Stand in the back corner and you will be completely| | safe. When attacking, you must use the Magmaul. Remember to go into Morph | | Ball mode to avoid him while he tries to ram you. Also, when he rams you, | | don't roll to the left or right. Instead, roll backwards. That seems to | | always work better for me. Just remember that it is not hard to attack; in | | fact it's quite easy. The hard part is the defense. Avoid taking damage. | | Don't forget to shoot the green things for health. Whenever you need health, | | you can get it. | | | +==============================================================================+ You have almost beaten this level! All you have to do is escape! Won't be very hard. You have about three minutes to escape. lets get started! *** Backtracking *************************************************************** Start out by going through the Portal. Follow the hallway to the left and go down the ramps. Go past the jammed door, across the room, and through the operational door. Go through the next one as well. Go straight across this room and into another one with a big hole on the ground. Don't fall down it! The enemies will bully you and make it hard to get back up. Go through the hole in the right wall. Once the other side of this 'hole', go left. Follow the ramp up, and go through the door on the right. Go through the next door as well. Walk across the room while avoiding the Petrasyls, and go through the door. Go through the next one as well. Head to the right, and go up the ramp. Enter your ship. *** End Backtracking *********************************************************** Well, congratulations! You only have one Boss fight left! And you now possess all eight Octoliths! All that's left is to face the final boss. But first, go and get any Energy Tanks and Missile/UA Expansions that you missed. And please, TELL ME ABOUT ANY EXPANSIONS THAT I MISSED!!! You will get credit, and the satisfaction of knowing that you helped someone out. Anyway, go to Alinos. +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ (Note: If a hunter steals an Octolith, then you will have to hunt him down. Remember which Hunter it was. If you go into space and put the cursor on a planet, it will show you what hunters are on that planet.) Take the Portal to the left of the ship (to the right if you are facing towards the ship). Take the door to the left. Go through the next one as well. You might have a bounty hunter fight here. Kill em off, then go up the ramp that used to have the Alimbic Artifact. Go through where the Purple Force Field used to be. Go through the door at the bottom of the ramp. Go through the next door as well. There might be a hunter in here. And don't be surprised if you have to fight a hunter and a guardian at the same time. Anyway, there will be only one door on the lower level. Go through it. Go through the next one as well. Walk forward and go through the Force Field and step into the circle. Watch as our next destination is formed. Leave when you are done. Go through the next door. Kill off any guardians you encounter, then ride the launch pad up to the top level. Go through the door. Go through the next door as well. Go and get any expansions on Alinos that you haven't already gotten. Then find one of the portals and go back to the ship. Anyway, starting from where I last left off, go to the right, and walk straight until you see a gap. Climb up onto the left wall and jump from platform to platform to get across. Go through the next door. Go through the next one as well. Go through the portal. Get in your ship and leave. +=============+ | Oubliette | +=============+ Leave your ship and go through the only door. Head through the next one as well. Walk forward and step onto the elevator. Go through the portal at the top. Go through the only door after you scanned everything. Turn right and go through the Morph Ball tunnel. Follow the tunnel to the end, and jump onto the white floating platform. It will warp you away to a new room. Grab the very last Energy Tank in the game (Energy Tank 7), then go back through the portal. Drop down off of the floating platform and go down the ramp. Go through the door. Drop down into the white light. +==============================================================================+ | Final Boss Battle: Gorea | | |============================+ | | | | Welcome to the last boss of the game. You have a choice here. If you want to | | See the best ending, you must follow my directions. Go to the outside ring | | of the battle field. It is easiest to dodge his attacks from here. Now look | | up at the different colored symbols surrounding the arena. Shoot them in | | this order with these weapons: | | | | Yellow: Volt Driver | | Green: Battlehammer | | Orange: Magmaul | | Blue: Shock Coil | | Purple: Judicator | | Red: Imperialist | | | | Doing so will activate another Boss battle after this one. If you beat it, | | you get the best ending. If you shoot one of those out of order, you will | | have to start over again. Now back to this fight. Stay on the outside ring of| | the arena. It's safest here. Now look around for these blue things, called | | Trocra's. Shoot them for health and UA refills. Scan em first! Now lets look | | at Gorea. He will periodically change colors. You will have to shoot him with| | whatever weapon matches his color (See above). The only weapons that I | | recommend are the Imperialist and the Shock coil. When he is blue, nail him | | with the Shock Coil. When he is red, give him a dose of the Imperialist. Oh, | | and remember, you can only hurt his shoulders. Once both shoulders are toast,| | he will change forms. Now, you have to hit the big orange orb with the | | Imperialist. Soon, he will change back to his old form. Rinse and repeat. | | | | Oh, and one last tip: If you haven't already, go to your ship before fighting| | him, go to options, and turn your sensitivity WAAAAAAAAY down. It helps big | | time in duel mode. Not sure about Stylus mode, though. | | | +==============================================================================+ If you didn't shoot the emblems, then you beat the game. Congrats! Have fun watching the bad ending. If you did shoot the emblems, then you have another boss fight to go. This one is similar to the second form of the final boss fight in the first Metroid Prime. +==============================================================================+ | Optional Boss fight: Gorea 2 | | |================================+ | | | | It starts out with the ship telling you that Gorea is much more stronger | | than the last fight. Nothing you currently possess will bring it down. Drop | | down to the bottom of the arena and grab the Omega Cannon! This Weapon of | | Mass destruction was banned by the Alimbics because of the potential harm it | | can do to anyone desperate enough to use it. Guess what? Your desperate | | enough. Just shoot him whenever you get the chance. No strategies involved. | | He will teleport around a lot, so use your radar to find him. Sometimes he | | will go up to the top part of the room, so go up and fight him. On your way | | up, grab the energy. I know for sure that there is at least one gold energy | | unit. Grab it and continue. He is quite easy. I beat him my second time! | | | +==============================================================================+ After you beat him, sit back and relax! You beat this game AND got the best ending. It will show you your stats. Damn, it took me 22 minutes to defeat Gorea! Didn't seem that long. Well, that incudes both battles with Gorea. Still, 22 minutes! Anyway, Congratulations! The game is done. Now beat it again to see whichever ending you missed! +==============================================================================+ | 4) Boss Guide --------------------------------------------------------------| +==============================================================================+ I wasn't sure if I should list the bounty hunter fights as Boss fights. I did it anyway just to be sure. Also, sorry, but my Boss section only has a few bosses in it. Only have between an hour to three hours a day to work on this. It will take awhile, but I'll finish it within a month or two. +===============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Kanden | +===============================+ Kinda easy if you ask me. Just stand on the upper platform in the middle of the room and shoot at him as he scurries around. If you are using Dual Mode then you might have a difficult time. Since aiming at that speed is damn near impossible, just wait for him to jump up and try to attack you on your platform and when he gets close, BAM! Hit him with a charged beam. This will take awhile, so only do this if you're in Dual Mode. If you're in stylus Mode, then you have a little more control, so shoot him as he scurries along the ground and as he shoots from up on the platform at the end of the room. That pretty much covers it. He will be gone by your third attempt for sure Good luck! +============================+ | Boss Fight: Cretaphid v1 | +============================+ The boss is the big pole thing. His only attack uses the big lasers. What you need to do, is to shoot all of the blue spots on him. When they are all gone, a white thing will come out of the top. Shoot it as much as you can. After a short time, it will go back into the big pillar. Start over again. Soon, after you deal enough damage to it, it will flash for a second, then the lasers will start up again. This time, though, they are closer to the ground, and that means closer to you. Just do as much damage to the white thing as you can, because that is the only way to hurt him. He'll take you a few tries, but he will go down soon enough. Not that tough. Remember, he leaves behind health sometimes when you shoot the blue things. Use a charged Beam attack to suck the health and ammo towards you. And also, if you are having trouble aiming, just aim at the white thing, and leave it aimed at that. Move closer to shoot the lower blue spots, and stand right next to it to get the lowest ones. +==============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Spire | +==============================+ The fight will start out with spire at the top of the room. Aim up and try hit him with a charged shot followed by a bunch of regular shots. Once you do a certain amount of damage, he will leave the room. No, the fight isn't over, it has just begun. Go around shooting plants for health. When you are satisfied with the amount of health you have (or you ran out bushes to kill), go up the ramp without the crystal. At the top, you will find more bushes to destroy. When you are ready, go past the mushroom and through the door. Go through the next one too. Here is where it gets exciting! Go left and scan the Attameter Artifact. You can't get it until you beat Spire in the next round of fighting. Go right now. You will be trapped by a force field. Kill off the enemy, then kill the two blue force fields. If you watch them, you will see that they are creating enemies for you. The enemies won't stop coming until you destroy them. When you do, look up and start shooting at Spire through the roof. When you do enough damage, he will come down and attack you in person. Well, almost. He will be in his alt form. The only way to hurt him is to shoot at him with Missiles. I find it is easiest to shoot him as he comes towards you, then jump out of the way right as he is about to ram into you. When you do enough damage, he will run away. Scan the switch on the wall to make a key appear. Grab it, then go get the now unlocked Artifact. Go through the door. Go through the next door also. Shoot at spire whenever you can. Whenever. Use Missiles also. When you run out, use charged shots. Just keep at him. Not that hard. +=========================+ | Boss Fight: Slench v1 | +=========================+ This is a pretty easy fight. He will have three tentacles surrounding him. What you have to do is shoot each one with a charged shot. When you do, the tentacle will retract into it's body. Once all three tentacles have been dealt with, the body will detach from the wall. You have to shoot it in the center where the dot is. Get up close to it when shooting at the body, because it moves. The more damage it takes, the faster it will move. Closer is better, because it won't ram into you, it will just shoot at you. It is very easy. I beat it on my first try. +===============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Weavel | +===============================+ Not exactly a good time to fight someone, huh? Well whatever. He will shoot at you while moving in a circular motion around the room. Rapidly fire while strafing sideways with him. Eventually, he will split into two pieces. One will stand in the center of the room while the other one runs around slashing at whatever it wants. Since the stationary piece is easy to shoot at, let out all your firepower on it. The other piece's movements are two erratic to waste time trying to deal with. He will eventually disappear. Follow him through the morph ball tunnel, but first destroy the boxes in this room. You might need the health. In here, he will be in one piece again. Keep shooting at him. Try for headshots, because it does more damage. Keep at him and eventually he will go down. +===============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Sylux | +===============================+ Like almost everything else in this game, he is easy as hell. Start by rapidly firing at him. You can do this by holding the L button for short amounts of time. If you hold it too long, then it will charge. You can try to nail him with charged shots or a combination of the two, but that takes time, and as you can see, his weapon locks on and doesn't let go. He will be harming you nonstop for at least 75% of the battle. You don't have any time. Just concentrate on killing him as fast as you can. After awhile, he will go into his alt form. While he is in his alt form, he can't directly hurt you. Take this chance to go and get health by shooting at the crates. Don't forget that he can still drop bombs though. After you get the health, shoot at him. He will eventually come out of his alt form, though. Just keep at him. Eventually he will go into the room in the center of the battlefield. Walk around the hallways while looking for an entrance to the new room. Go in and let the battle continue! I find it helps when I jam my back against the corner of the room. Just keep shooting. Eventually his ship will arrive. Just ignore it, because it doesn't have anything to do with the battle. On second thought, go ahead and scan it. You won't have any other chance. After you beat him, he will run into his ship and take off. The third Artifact will be unlocked, also. Congrats! You beat one of the harder Bounty Hunters! +================+ | Cretaphid v2 | +================+ This will be very similar to the previous boss battle, except that it is easier. I expect you to beat this by your third attempt. What you need to do is to shoot all of the blue spots. It will have a newer, weaker attack. It will shoot green globs of ooze at you. They are slow moving and can be destroyed with your gun. The laser attack is gone, by the way. It helps to strife in circles around it. You never had to do this in the previous version of the Boss Battle, because you could jump over the laser when it passed you. I also find it easiest to shoot away all of the blue things on the bottom, and work your way up. And of course, when every one of them is destroyed, nail the white thing up top. Rinse and repeat. +==============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Noxus | +==============================+ Yet another easy bounty hunter fight. Just run under one of the ramps and shoot. There are no fancy tactical moves to use against him. Just shower him with charged beam shots. If you are under a ramp, then you will be protected on two or more sides. Sometimes, he will get stuck under the ramp with you. That is bad because then the ramp will trap you next to him while he is attacking. Just try to get out form under the ramp when this happens. Once you get out, go back in. Sometimes you can trap Noxus under the ramp and shoot him while he is cornered. Trace will be in the fight also, but you should just ignore him for now. Noxus will be gone in no time at all. +=========================+ | Boss Fight: Slench 2a | +=========================+ He will be almost exactly the same as last time, except that this time the tentacles surrounding him can not be harmed by the regular beam. You will have to use the Judicator against him. The Battlehammer will not work. Just destroy the tentacles holding him to the wall, then give him a few charged shots when he begins floating around. Your regular beam will work on him while he floats around, but it damages so slowly that being able to rapidly fire doesn't help all that much. Just use the Judicator the whole time through. When you run low on health and Ammo, go stand by the door and take out your regular beam gun. When you're way back here, the orange blasts don't hit you, they blow up before they get to you. The green blobs are different, however. This is good, because now you can shoot them with the Power Beam. You get health and ammo for doing this. Use a charged Power Beam to suck the energy towards you. When you are all healed up, go back into the fight. +==============================+ | Bounty Hunter Fight: Trace | +==============================+ The battle will start out with trace trying to snipe you from up high. Just use your charged beam to inflict damage. He will sometimes become invisible, so you will probably lose track of him several times. After you inflict enough damage, he will come down and fight you hand to hand. He will use his triskelion a lot (the Triskelion is his alt form). He will lunge at you, but other than that, he doesn't have any real attacks. If you lose track of him, look at your radar. You don't have the time to sit around and wait for him to magically appear right in front of you, you will have to search for him. Good luck!!! +=========================+ | Boss Fight: Slench 3a | +=========================+ This is getting old. The nice thing is that you only have to fight him once more after this. Not too much has changed since the last time. First of all, you can only hurt his tentacles with your BattleHammer. The BattleHammer's ammunition doesn't fly in a straight line, it curves towards the ground, so you will have to aim a little above where you would normally shoot. Also, if you want to kill the tentacles really quickly, hold the L or R Button to rapidly fire the Battlehammer. When you have shot all his tentacles, shoot his eye. You will need to use a better weapon then the power beam. You can use the shock Coil, but you will probably run out of ammo, no matter how many UA Expansions you have. You could also use the Judicator or the Volt Driver. Both work well. Another good choice is the BattleHammer. It is a little stronger then the other weapons. The problem with the BattleHammer is the arc. It will aim downward when you are in the most action packed part of the boss fight. That reminds me!! He has some new attacks! He will be dropping bombs on you while he is in the air. Also, when he starts to shake and he closes his eyes, RUN! Morph Ball to the side and don't forget to use the Morph Ball Boost! He will ram into you. This is not an attack you want to be hit by. Rinse and Repeat. Don't forget that if you are running low on health, you can go to the back of the room and shoot the green blobs as they fly towards you. Sometimes they leave behind health, and the other attacks that are shot at you don't reach that far; they blow up right before they hit you, leaving you unharmed. Not a very hard fight. Enjoy! +=========================+ | Mini Boss: Fire Spawn | +=========================+ Welcome to the first Mini Boss fight (not counting Bounty Hunters). It is pretty easy, if you know what to do. First, walk to the left and behind the rock wall. Charge your Power Beam up and nail it in mouth. It only holds it's mouth open for a short time, so be quick. When it leans back, run to the side! It will throw a fiery lump of magma at you. If you are hit by it, you will take on a lot of damage. Your gun will catch fire and you will receive damage nonstop until the fire goes out. Avoid this at all costs! Anyway, be careful because the wall of protection doesn't always protect you. Quite often, the fireballs will go straight through it and hit you. That is why you must keep running to the side until after it throws it's fireball. Then you can go back and try again. Not too hard. +============================+ | Boss Fight: Cretaphid v3 | +============================+ This boss is just more of the same. Shoot the blue spots while avoiding the green blobs. The laser attack is back, and it's more powerful than before. Kill the blue spots and shoot the white thing at the top. Use your regular beam gun, it gets the job done quick, without running out of ammo. Also, you can kill the spots that shoot the laser. Now think a little. Do you get hurt more from the green blobs, or the laser. The answer is different for everyone. If the laser tends to give you more damage than the blobs, then kill the laser first. If the blobs tend to hurt you more, kill every non laser spot first. +==========================+ | Mini Boss: Artic Spawn | +==========================+ This guy is extremely similar to the Fire spawn we encountered on Alinos. The only differences are that he throws ice at you. You will want to avoid those, because they freeze you in place for a short amount of time. To harm him, you will need to use either the Magmaul or charged power beam shots. The Magmaul does more damage, but the Power Beam does a decent amount of damage too. Either way, this fight is really easy. I recommend using the Power Beam, because it doesn't take up ammo, and it doesn't make the fight any harder. Just don't use any other weapon, because while they do damage him, they don't damage him enough, and they waste ammo. You should be able to kill him on your first try. +============================+ | Boss Fight: Cretaphid v4 | +============================+ This fight is the same as last time. The only difference is that the pole will actually move around. Remember to circle him when shooting his blue spots. And stand clear of him before you shoot the final spot. It's really annoying to kill all the blue spots, just for him to move into a position that blocks you from shooting his brain. When you beat him, party! This was the last time you that will ever fight him. WOOT! +=========================+ | Boss fight: Slench 4a | +=========================+ Welcome to your final battle with Slench. The method that we'll use is the same as always. Shoot the tentacles, then the main eye. The only difference is that he is on the roof. Oh, and he has a new attach! He rolls on the ground. Just go stand in the back corners of the room. He moves in a Figure 8. This movement does not change. He never tries to squash you, he just moves in a figure 8. Stand in the back corner and you will be completely safe. When attacking, you must use the Magmaul. Remember to go into Morph Ball mode to avoid him while he tries to ram you. Also, when he rams you, don't roll to the left or right. Instead, roll backwards. That seems to always work better for me. Just remember that it is not hard to attack; in fact it's quite easy. The hard part is the defence. Avoid taking damage. Don't forget to shoot the green things for health. Whenever you need health, you can get it. +============================ | Final Boss Battle: Gorea | ============================+ Welcome to the last boss of the game. You have a choice here. If you want to See the best ending, you must follow my directions. Go to the outside ring of the battle field. It is easiest to dodge his attacks from here. Now look up at the different colored symbols surrounding the arena. Shoot them in this order with these weapons: Yellow: Volt Driver Green: Battlehammer Orange: Magmaul Blue: Shock Coil Purple: Judicator Red: Imperialist Doing so will activate another Boss battle after this one. If you beat it, you get the best ending. If you shoot one of those out of order, you will have to start over again. Now back to this fight. Stay on the outside ring of the arena. It's safest here. Now look around for these blue things, called Trocra's. Shoot them for health and UA refills. Scan em first! Now lets look at Gorea. He will periodically change colors. You will have to shoot him with whatever weapon matches his color (See above). The only weapons that I recommend are the Imperialist and the Shock coil. When he is blue, nail him with the Shock Coil. When he is red, give him a dose of the Imperialist. Oh, and remember, you can only hurt his shoulders. Once both shoulders are toast, he will change forms. Now, you have to hit the big orange orb with the Imperialist. Soon, he will change back to his old form. Rinse and repeat. Oh, and one last tip: If you haven't already, go to your ship before fighting him, go to options, and turn your sensitivity WAAAAAAAAY down. It helps big time in duel mode. Not sure about Stylus mode, though. +================================+ | Optional Boss fight: Gorea 2 | +================================+ It starts out with the ship telling you that Gorea is much more stronger than the last fight. Nothing you currently possess will bring it down. Drop down to the bottom of the arena and grab the Omega Cannon! This weapon of mass destruction was banned by the Alimbics because of the potential harm it can do to anyone desperate enough to use it. Guess what? Your desperate enough. Just shoot him whenever you get the chance. No strategies involved. He will teleport around a lot, so use your radar to find him. Sometimes he will go up to the top part of the room, so go up and fight him. On your way up, grab the energy. I know for sure that there is at least one gold energy unit. Grab it and continue. He is quite easy. I beat him my second time! !!!More Coming soon!!! +==============================================================================+ | 5) Energy Tanks (Arranged by area found in) --------------------------------| +==============================================================================+ +======================+ | Celestial Archives | +======================+ 1) Found During: First Visit Room: Data Shrine 01 How To Get: Go left through the room after the first Artifact and kill the Psycho Bits. After you do, continue going left. When you get to an area where you need to jump up a step, go into "Morph Ball Mode." Roll through the tunnel. You will soon get some health by doing so. Do it for a bit longer to find an Energy Tank (Energy Tank 1). 2) Found During: Second Visit Room: New Arrival Registration. How To Get: After leaving your ship, go back through the portal on the right. Once at the bottom, walk through the hallway. On the other side, jump onto the moving platform. As it goes up, jump onto the piece of wall sticking out at the bottom. Then jump from that to the stationary platform. And from that to the Energy Tank (Energy Tank 5). +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ 3) Found During: First Visit Room: Working on it. How to Get: Go through Alinos until you get to the first morph ball door. Go straight ahead, then turn right. Keep going and eventually you will find it. 4) Found During: Second Visit Room: Council Chamber How to Get: Directly after you get the Magmaul, walk down the path going up and shoot the Orange force field with the Magmaul. The Energy Tank is just up ahead. +============+ | Arcterra | +============+ 5) Found During: First Visit Room: Sic Transit How to Get: Go to the room with the first Alimbic artifact and enter Morph Ball Mode. Roll under the three bars in the back of the room and ride the elevator up. When the elevator gets to the top, bomb jump into it Try to lay the bomb in the middle of the platform. If you are up against the sides you might not jump properly. When you are done, leave the room. 6) Found During: First Visit Room: Frost Labyrinth How to Get: From the door leading to the third artifact, go right, then follow the path going down. When you get to the area with a tunnel going to the right, go left all the way. Then go up and right. Go past the green beams for another Energy Tank. +=============+ | Oubliette | +=============+ 6) Found During: Only visit Room: N/A How to Get: Leave your ship and go through the only door. Head through the next one as well. Walk forward and step onto the elevator. Go through the portal at the top. Go through the only door after you scanned everything. Turn right and go through the Morph Ball tunnel. Follow the tunnel to the end, and jump onto the white floating platform. It will warp you away to a new room with the last Energy Tank. +==============================================================================+ | 6) Missile Expansions (Arranged by area found in) --------------------------| +==============================================================================+ +======================+ | Celestial Archives | +======================+ 1) Found During: First Visit Room: Data Shrine 02 How to Get: When you first encountered Kanden while walking through the halls (not during the actual fight), he will run away. Morph Ball and follow him through the tunnel. At the other end, stay in morph ball mode and continue going right. You will enter another tunnel with some health, and a Missile Expansion at the end (Max 15). 2) Found During: Second Visit Room: Incubation Vault 03 How to Get: Go back to the room where you got the first Alimbic Artifact on your second time through. Go up to the area with the four platforms and Take platform (D). (See the little map below) (A)__(B) || (C)||(D) || || Look at the side of the room with two portals. Go through the one on the left. Walk straight ahead and grab the Missile Expansion (Max 45). +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ 3) Found During: First Visit Room: Alinos Gateway How to get: Well, start by running forward and down the ramp. Jump from platform to platform to get across the lake of lava. Go to the right of the door and scan the Alimbic Datashades. Go to the left and climb up the pile of rocks. When you get to the top, you should see a Missile expansion. Go into Morph Ball mode and roll under the wires. Bomb jump up the steps. The first one should go fine, but the next one might give you trouble. You have to sit in the middle of the step when the bomb blows. YOU CANNOT LEAN AGAINST THE TOP STEP! Hold right AFTER the bomb blows. 4) Found during: First Visit Room: High Grounds How to get: Go up the ramp that had the second Artifact on it. Once at the top, jump onto the middle platform. Look to the right. You should see a cave in the wall just below you. Jump into it and walk to the right for another Missile Expansion (Max 25). Be carefull though, because there will be a hole in the ground during your second visit. If you fall through it, you will have to go back up the ramp and try again. 5) Found During: Second Visit Room: Alinos Perch How to get: Go through the second portal (the one to the right of your ship) and drop down the hole in the floor of the room with the Petrasyls. If a force field is in your way, then you need to get the second Alimbic Artifact by scanning the the orange computer, then dropping down. Go through the orange force field that you past through on your first trip in here (before you got the magmaul). Go through the door. If you have not activated the second force field, but have beaten the Fire Spawn, just go to the room before the mini boss. +==========================+ | Vesper Defense Outpost | +==========================+ 6) Found During: First Visit Room: Cortex CPU How to get: After you grab the first Alimbic Artifact, go through the passageway you came through and go through the next two morph ball doors. Go forward and down the ramp. Bomb jump up onto the moving platform and roll to the right. Double bomb jump up into the Missile Expansion by laying a bomb. Right before it explodes, lay another. The first one will push you up into the air. At the peak of this "jump," lay a bomb in midair. You will land, but immediately be pushed up into the air by the second bomb. As you are in the air, the third bomb will explode, pushing you up twice as high, and into the Missile Expansion. 7) Found During: Second Visit Room: Fuel Stack How to get: Starting from your ship, ride the launch pad up at the top and take the portal that is all by itself on the small platform. After you go through the portal, go through the next two doors. (Note: If you see the cinematic scene, you will have to deal with the energy overflow before you can get the Missile Expansion) Walk down the path to the left. Ride the launch pads up and climb the platforms. Go through the hallway with all the Zoomers in it. At the end of this hallway will be another smaller hallway. Take it. At the end of this next hallway will be a launch pad and a force field. Go through the force field. Jump across to the other ramp. Follow the ramp down to the Missile Expansion. +============+ | Arcterra | +============+ 8) Found During: First Visit Room: Ice Hive How to get: Take the portal to the right of your ship (It's to the right if you are facing the front of your ship). Walk through the big brown hallway with all the plants. Go into Morph Ball Mode and roll through the Morph Ball hole. BE VERY CAREFUL, because if you go through the hole too fast, you will fall down into the room below. Roll to the right to find another Missile Expansion. 9) Found During: Second Visit Room: Subterranean How to get: Take the elevator down into the room with the third Alimbic artifact on your second visit. There it will be: right in the open. +==============================================================================+ | 7) UA Expansions (Arranged by the area found in) ----------------------------| +==============================================================================+ +======================+ | Celestial Archives | +======================+ 1) Found During: Second visit Room: Celestial Archives Gateway How to get: When you first get out of your ship, go into Morph Ball mode. Roll under the platform that your ship is sitting on. Take out your Battlehammer and shoot the force field on the ground. Fall down through the hole and into a room with lots of columns. Search around and you will eventually find it. (This one was found by Will. Thanks Will!!) 2) Found during: Second Visit Room: Docking Bay How to Get: Go back to the room where you got the first Alimbic Artifact on your second time through. Go up to the area with the four platforms and Take platform (A) (See the little map below). At the end is a UA Expansion. (A)__(B) || (C)||(D) || || +==========+ | Alinos | +==========+ 3) Item Needed: None, but you can't get it until after you grab the Magmaul. Room: Processor Core How to Get: From your ship, go through the portal on the right. Go back into the big room by going through the door on the left. Go through the next door as well. Jump across the top of the room and land on the edge on the other side. Go to the left to find it. +==========================+ | Vesper Defense Outpost | +==========================+ 4) Found during: First visit Room: Compression Chamber How to Get: Go to the room where Missile Expansion number two is located at. Start on the little turret shooting energy blasts at you, because it shoots the most and will limit your ability to take everything else out. Once that is gone, get the Generators so no more Psycho Bits are created. Lastly, take out the Psycho Bits. Go back to the morph ball maze. Go to the very bottom and go left. Bomb through both doors. At the end of the tunnel should be your UA Expansion. 5) Found During: Second visit Room: Stasis Bunker How to Get: This depends on how you enter the room. If you take the portal from your first visit, just drop down the elevator hole and go through the door. This door will be red if you haven't use the Imperialist on it yet. Go through the next door as well. Walk across the room, then go through the next door. Jump onto a small ledge in the wall, then jump onto the machine. You should soon find a UA Expansion. If you go through the second portal, simply take the elevator down and go through the door. To the left is the room with the rectangular opening. +============+ | Arcterra | +============+ 6) Found during: First visit Room: Ice Hive How to Get: When you get the Judicator, jump down and take out your new weapon to destroy the purple Force Field (not the one at the bottom of the ice ramp). Walk across the bridge and kill all of the beetle things (can't remember their name). Look to the right and destroy the purple Force Field. It looks far away, but you could jump that distance. Once it is destroyed, go ahead and jump across. To the right is another UA Expansion. 7) Found During: Second Visit Room: Sanctorus How to Get: Go to the room where you got the Imperialist. Head through the red door. Go through the next door as well. Roll through the tunnel to get into the annoying maze from the first visit. Roll all the way to the left, then roll all the way up, then go left past the green laser, and follow the path to the tunnel at the end. Go through the red door. Go through the next one as well. Head left. You should soon come across a UA Expansion. 8) Found during: Second Visit. Room: Drip Moat How to Get: After going through the portal to the left of your ship (when facing the front of it), ride the closest launch pad up and go through the door.
