Now on Nintendo DS! ...I could have said something like that if I wrote this in the middle of year 2005. But, since it's 2007 now, and another Castlevania game has been released for Nintendo DS as well, I'll have to think of something else. I think explaining that I'm trying to put together a comprehensive walkthrough for Dawn of Sorrow should do it pretty well. I've written a walkthrough for Portrait of Ruin, the second Nintendo DS Castlevania game, earlier, and since I liked doing that a lot, I now feel like covering Dawn of Sorrow as well. Throughout the main walkthrough, I'll guide you from the beginning of the game, to the very end. I'll also list the hidden rooms, optional items and so on, as well. If you've been reading my Portrait of Ruin walkthrough, you'll notice that I've split the main walkthrough up in more sections. There's two reasons for this. The first reason is that Dawn of Sorrow takes place in one big castle, while Portrait of Ruin had several portraits you could enter, all of which where totally different from each other. The second reason is that this way, it's easier to avoid writing walls of text, confusing the reader. While I do think the result wasn't very confusing in the Portrait of Ruin walkthrough, I believe this one will turn out to be even better! But of course, you're the judge :) There's lots of stuff in this game that you don't really have to get if you don't want to, and to make it easier to read the walkthrough for both completists and people who just want to play the game through effectively, I've listed most of the optional things inside their own squares, right of the paragraphs of the main walkthrough. This way, you can just skip reading what's written inside those squares, if you don't really care about optional stuff. Other than that, I don't have a lot to say before I let you read on to the other sections of this document. I hope you enjoy the walkthrough, and the game itself, since both are of good quality - I hope. Well, lets start then. =============================================================================== Controls [be02] =============================================================================== ,--------------------------------------------. ; __________________________ ; | | | | | | | | | | | | | . . . | - Upper screen - | . . . | | . . . | | . . . | | | | | | | | | | |__________________________| | + _.+ L --> `-. __________________________ . <-- R .-' | | '-. | _ | | | | _| |_ | | [X] | Directional --> | |_ _| | - Lower screen - |[Y] [A]| Pad | |_| | | [B] | | | | | | | | o | <--- Start | |__________________________| o | <--- Select | | `----------------------------------------------` o-------------------------o---------------------------------o | BUTTON | FUNCTION | o-------------------------o---------------------------------o | | | | A Button | Special Weapon Attack, Confirm | | B Button | Jump, Cancel | | Y Button | Attack | | X Button | Switch equipment (doppelganger)| | | | | L Button | Dash Backwards | | R Button | Use Guardian Type Soul | | | | | Directional Pad | Move, Navigate Through Menus | | | | | Start | Pause, Main Menu | | Select | View Map, View Character Stats | | | | o-------------------------o---------------------------------o | | | | Down + B Button | Slide, Drop Down, Air Kick | | Up + Y button | Use Bullet Type Soul | | L + R + Start + Select | Reset game | | Lower Screen | Seal Bosses, Break Ice Blocks | | | | o-------------------------o---------------------------------o =============================================================================== Dawn of Sorrow Characters [be03] =============================================================================== Soma Cruz (Age: 19) ------------------- Soma is the rebirth of the legendary dark lord, Dracula. He has the power to dominate the souls of others and use their powers as his own. One year ago, he learned that he was destined to become the dark lord, but overcame the chaos that raged within him, and escaped that fate. Now, Soma is living a peaceful life with his friends, but unfortunately for him, peace doesn't last long. Mina Hakuba (Age: 19) --------------------- Soma's best friend, and the sole daughter of Hakuba Shrine's priest. One year earlier, she was trapped within Dracula's castle along with Soma. Although she doesn't have any special abilities, she is most trusted by Soma. Hammer (Age: 35) ---------------- A military veteran, that has now retired because of the events of last year. Hammer is now a merchant, and while he looks pretty rough, he is actually completely aimless and irresponsible. He also acts as an information broker through his shady business connections. Hammer has a crush on Yoko. Yoko Belnades (Age: 25) ----------------------- A witch belonging to the church. She is a specialist when it comes to disposing of monsters and creatures that are threatening humans. She is a descendant of a clan that helped defeat Dracula in the year of 1476. While Yoko is pretty nosy, she's like a big sister to Mina Hakuba. In the game, she sets up a shop where she fuses souls into weapons for Soma, resulting in new and more powerful weapons. Julius Belmont (Age: 56) ------------------------ A descendant of a clan of vampire hunters, Julius wields the legendary whip named 'Vampire Hunter'. Julius lost his mind when he defeated Dracula in 1999, and only regained it last year. Although he is starting to show age, he now assists the church in their undertakings, working together with Yoko Belnades. Genya Arikado (Age: Unknown) ---------------------------- Mister Arikado is a member of a top-secret Japanese government agency. He is a very mysterious person, and his real identity is only known to a handful of people. Strikingly beautiful, but cold and detached. Approaching him isn't always very easy -- not even for Soma. Celia Fortner (Age: 26) ----------------------- A dark priestess that has formed a cult bent of resurrecting the lord of darkness, and killing Soma off in the process. She's able to use very powerful magic spells, but has lost some power after Dracula disappeared. Scared of losing even more strength, she's desperate to resurrect the dark lord. Dmitrii Blinov (Age: 37) ------------------------ A potential successor to Dracula's reign, with the power to duplicate magic attacks. Although he displays an outer impression of rashness and irresponsibility, he is fully prepared to take any measures to accomplish his goal. Dmitrii isn't very good friends with the other potential successor. Dario Bossi (Age: 37) --------------------- The second potential successor to Dracula's reign. He has the power to manipulate fire. He's possessed this power ever since he absorbed some of Dracula's powers a year ago. His fiery attitude and impulsive tendencies push him to immediate action. =============================================================================== Game Basics & Hints [be04] =============================================================================== o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o | NOTE: This section, along with The Soul System section below, explains how | | things and stuff in Dawn of Sorrow work. Please have a read here if you're | | not already familiar with the game from before. You won't regret it! | o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o - LEVELS AND STATS: Dawn of Sorrow is not a roleplaying game, but the main characters have stats and levels anyway. Press SELECT during gameplay to get an overview that displays your character stats. When you have earned enough experience points by killing enemies, your level will get higher. Higher level means stronger characters. Also, let me explain about each stats meaning -- There are several abbreviations on the stats screen, and all of them have their own meanings: LV - Current Level HP - Health Points MP - Mental Points EXP - Experience Points Next - Amount of EXP needed to level up Gold - Current amount of money ATK - Attack Power STR - Strength DEF - Defense CON - Constitution INT - Intelligence (Soul Attack Strength) MND - Mental Strength (Magical Defense) LCK - Luck (Affects Item & Soul Droprate) - POISON & CURSE: These are the two status effects that will weaken you when you get hit by certain enemy attacks. If you get poisoned, your character loses his attack bonus, and gets real weak. If you get cursed, you lose all of your MP. You can cure yourself by using certain items, but both effects will wear off by themselves after some time has passed. - GETTING MP & GOLD: Throughout the game, you will find lots of breakable background objects, like lamps, decorations, torches and bottles. If you break these objects, you will often get either gold or hearts that restore MP. If your MP meter is not filled, you will find MP hears, and if it is filled, you will find gold instead. Your MP meter will always slowly refill by itself, but finding hearts is a much faster way to fill it. The gold in Dawn of Sorrow is represented by colored coins. Each type of coin has its own value. Blue coins are worth 1 gold, bronze coins are worth 10 gold, silver coins are worth 50 gold and golden coins are worth 100 gold. - EQUIPMENT: One of the most important parts of the game is to find equipment. Weapons and armor pieces can be found, sometimes by killing enemies, other times by finding secret rooms. If you want to equip armor pieces or weapons, go to the main menu by pressing START and choose the 'Equip' option. On the equipment screen you can also view each weapon or armor piece's stats. Remember that finding equipment is only part of the job, as you also need to manually put it on your characters. - ENEMY DROPS: All kinds of enemies have certain items that they will sometimes drop upon dying. These items are called enemy drops, or random drops. By wearing equipment that give more LCK, the droprate will rise, and you will be more likely to get enemy drops. Your LCK also effects soul droprate, not just weapon/item/armor droprate. - STOCK UP: Dawn of Sorrow is a game where enemies will attack you all the time, everywhere. Because of this, you might find yourself low on health before you even realize that you're taking heavy damage. In situations like that, it's great to have a potion or two in your inventory, since they refill health. Never travel far if you don't have any healing items with you. - WARPING FROM PLACE TO PLACE: In order to travel faster, you can teleport between special rooms that have warp points in them. These warp points are activated once you walk close to them and press UP. Afterwards you can use the directional pad to choose where you want to teleport. - SAVING & HEALING: Just like there are special rooms with warp points in, there are also rooms with save points. Save points are easily recognized by the strong, blue orbs floating in the air above them. Press UP while standing close to a save point in order to save your progress and refill your HP/MP for free. Without saving, you won't last long. - HIDDEN ROOMS: There are lots of hidden rooms for you to find. In all levels, there are rooms or passages that can be uncovered by breaking certain parts of the floor, walls or even the ceiling. Slide, use spells or do melee attacks often, if you want to find these hidden, item-containing places. If you follow the main walkthrough, I'll tell you where they're all located. =============================================================================== The Soul System [be05] =============================================================================== - BASICS: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is all about souls. The main character, Soma Cruz, is able to steal the souls of monsters that he kill, and use them as his own, exploiting their power. Boss monsters always drop their souls when killed off, while other monsters & enemies don't usually drop theirs. To get the souls of normal monsters, you'll often have to kill them several times, or grinding, as it's called by many. Each monster's soul has a rarity rating consisting of one, two or three stars. One star means that the soul is likely to drop when you kill the monster, and three stars means that it's unlikely to drop, so you'll have to grind a lot to get those! Note that all soul types, except for ability & enchant type souls consume MP when used. - EQUIPPING SOULS: You will have to equip souls to be able to use them. You can do this by accessing the main pause menu by pressing Start, then accessing the 'Equip' option. Now you'll be taken to the soul equip screen. You can have one Bullet, Guardian & Enchant type soul equipped at the same time. As for Ability type souls, you can have them all equipped at once, no worries. - SOUL TYPES: There are several kinds of souls in Dawn of Sorrow. Some monsters carry souls of one type, while other kinds carry souls of another type. They all give you different powers. Sometimes, they let you attack in a special way, and sometimes they let you access previously unreachable areas, by for example letting you jump higher, or travel underwater. When you kill an enemy and it drops a soul, you'll see that the soul is colored. There are four kinds of colors - one color for each soul type: o------------------------ Soul Types Explained -------------------------o | | | - RED Souls, Bullet Type: These souls are very common. They let | | you throw, shoot or spit to attack the enemy. They're mostly | | long-range weapons that are very useful for damaging the enemy | | without having to go up close to it. Use them by pressing UP + Y | | on your Nintendo DS. | | | | - BLUE Souls, Guardian Type: Guardian type souls are pretty common | | as well, and let you either defend yourself, or help you to | | reach areas that weren't reachable before you found the soul. | | The Flying Armor soul is a good example, since it lets you float | | through the air after jumping. Press the R button on your | | Nintendo DS to use Guardian type souls. | | | | - YELLOW Souls, Enchant Type: These souls won't let you attack in | | any new way. They don't give you any new abilities either. What | | they're good for however, is boosting your stats. For example, | | by equipping the Golem souls, your strength will get boosted, | | rendering you able to deal more damage when attacking your enemies | | with a normal weapon. Take note that only the effect of the | | Enchant soul you've got equipped will count. Having a soul in | | your pocket without equipping it won't boost your stats in any way. | | Enchant type souls do not consume MP when used. | | | | - SILVER WHITE Souls, Ability Type: These souls are usually dropped | | when you kill bosses. They give you new abilities, like double | | jumping, or breaking ice blocks. They don't consume MP when used, | | and all of them can be equipped at the same time. Without ability | | type souls, you won't make it far in Dawn of Sorrow. | | | o-----------------------------------------------------------------------o - INCREASING SOUL DROPRATE: A very common question people ask, is how they can increase the soul droprate when killing enemies. There is a very simple answer to this question -- you need to equip souls or equipment that boost your Luck stat. There's several kinds of souls & equipment that boost your luck stat, but some of the best are the [Three 7s] armor and the soul named [Ghost Dancer]. Make sure to have equipment that boosts your luck equipped if you're killing monsters, grinding for souls. - SOUL STATS: When browsing through the souls in your inventory you will, just like when looking at your weapons, notice that there are several stats and abbreviations for each soul. Here's a list of their meanings: o--------------------- Soul Stats & Abbreviations ----------------------o | | | - Lv. x/x: This is the power level of the soul. Collect more souls | | of the same type to make it more powerful. | | | | - xx/Use: The numbers that replace the 'xx' display how much MP | | it costs to use the soul once. Applies to bullet type souls, | | as well as enchant type souls. | | | | - x/Time: Applies to guardian type souls. The number replacing the | | 'x' displays how much MP the soul will drain for each second it's | | being used. | | | | - Stars: This displays the soul's rarity. One star means the soul | | is not rare, while three stars means it's very rare and uncommon. | | | o-----------------------------------------------------------------------o =============================================================================== Frequently Asked Questions [be06] =============================================================================== Q: Is the storyline in this game directly connected to any other game? A: Yes, this is a direct sequel to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on GBA. Q: How do i make the golden statues with numbers on to go away? A: Collect gold until the three last digits of your total gold value matches the numbers on the golden statues. Q: Does Dawn of Sorrow support Nintendo Wi-Fi? A: No, you can't play or trade items on Nintendo Wi-Fi in Dawn of Sorrow. Q: I always die! I need more HP, but how? A: Buy potions from Hammer's shop to refill HP. If you want to raise your Maximum HP amount, you can do that by killing enemies until you level up, And by equipping certain accessories and souls. Q: I know of a soul or tactic that's much better to use than the ones you say you're using in the walkthrough. A: What souls you have, depends on how much time you're willing to spend on grinding enemies, or how lucky you are when you kill them. There are many tactics you can use during certain parts of the game, for example during boss battles, and the ones I've listed are simply the ones that worked nicely out for me when playing through the game my third & fourth time. Q: What does the 'soul release' option in Yoko's shop do? A: It simply lets you throw your souls away, and nothing more than that. Q: What's the best soul in the game? A: That depends on you. As for souls that are used to attack with, I really like the Killer Clown and Mandragora souls but people have different opinions about souls, just like with weapons and other equipment. Q: Help! The monsters I kill don't drop their souls! A: In most cases, a monster won't drop a soul when killed. Because of this, you will need to kill certain kinds of monster lots of time before you get their soul. Wearing equipment that raises luck is also smart, as the soul droprate will be raised along with your luck. Q: Help! I am really bad at floating through the air using Flying Armor. A: The trick is to use it before you start falling, not after. Q: What's up with the UMA News items? They're talking about some monsters. A: There are three different secret monsters, or secret souls, that the UMA News describes in a vague manner. Use CTRL + F and search for 'Secret Soul' to find out where to find the three monsters. =============================================================================== Soma in the City [wa01] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Knife..........................[ ] Armor Knight...................[ ] | | Skeleton.......................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o Soma and Mina are walking around in the city when a woman named Celia suddenly appears. Celia doesn't seem very friendly, and even less so when she starts summoning monsters, trying to kill our hero and his good friend. Happily, another of Soma's friends, Mr. Arikado is here as well. He throws a [Knife] over to Soma so that he can defend himself against the monsters. The first one is a skeleton, so attack it using the knife you got from Arikado. The skeleton drops the [Skeleton] soul, which is a Bullet type soul that can be used by holding UP and pressing the Y button to throw a bone. Try it out on the next enemy, which is an Armor Knight, but do take note that each time you use a Bullet type soul, a small amount of MP will be drained from the green MP gauge in the upper left end of the screen. It's not too dumb though, as MP is automatically refilled as you play, and can also be restored more quickly, by drinking certain potions you'll get access to later in the game. Anyway, the Armor Knight drops the [Armor Knight] soul, which is a Guardian type soul that is used by holding down the R button on your Nintendo DS. Like Bullet type souls, Guardian type souls also consume some MP when used. Try your new soul out on the next monster; a huge, nasty Golem. The Golem also drops its soul. This one is an Enchant type soul that gives a small strength boost when equipped. Enchant type souls do not consume MP, but do not provide you with any new abilities. Instead, they boost various stats. Celia now escapes, after her monsters have been killed off. Arikado explains that Celia is the priestess of a rapidly growing cult, that is seeking to resurrect the lord of darkness, Dracula, and finish Soma off in the process. Scary stuff indeed. Some days pass, and the next time you get to see out white-haired hero, Soma, he is in a dark, cold and snowy village, far away from the city! A man named Hammer shows up as well. Turns out that Hammer told Soma about where the mad cult's headquarters were located, and now, Soma is going there to investigate. Yeah right, just investigate. Hammer runs ahead of Soma, and says that he'll be opening a shop somewhere in the village. Sounds quite interesting, but not that profitable. Now, you're in control of Soma again, so head right, into the next area. Notice the wonderful music? If so, you're at the right place, I'm sure. Now lets get this walkthrough started for real! =============================================================================== The Lost Village [wa02] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Short Sword....................[ ] Magic Seal 1...................[ ] | | Potion.........................[ ] Flying Armor...................[ ] | | Yeti...........................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o You've still got the knife that Arikado o---------- Secret Soul ----------o gave you back in the city, so that'll be | | your main weapon for now. If you've got a full MP gauge, there's gold, and if not, you'll get MP hearts instead. So, always break stuff in the background. Now, kill off the Skeleton and the Peeping Eye on the bridge in this area - don't worry about getting their souls yet - and exit right. Grab the [Short Sword] from the wooden platform in front of you, and then continue right after equipping it. Now, the next area is pretty flat, when thinking landscape, but there are some monsters with great souls here: Wargs. I recommend you run in and out of this area several times, killing the Wargs in here until their soul drops, since I like the Warg soul a lot. It's a close- range Bullet type soul that deals quite a bit of damage when used. But, it's up to you, really, whether you want to grind for souls or not. So, kill off the Wargs, as mentioned, and take care of the Axe Armor and Zombies as well, before running further right again. A woman named Yoko and a man named Julius (Wooh! Vampire hunter!) are talking to each other in here, standing close to a huge castle. Julius hops into the castle, over the locked gate, by pulling off a totally crazy jump, and Yoko is left behind. She asks you if you would mind escorting her to safety. Be a lady's friend, and agree. Not that it's possible to refuse, though. With Yoko following you, go back left to the platform where you found the Short Sword, and drop down from the platform. At the bottom, take the [Potion] that's lying on the ground, and go right to find a save room. All save rooms look like this one; lots of blue orbs floating in the air above a statue. Go close to the statue and press UP on your directional pad to save your game. All of your HP & MP will also be restored when saving. And it's free too! Go outside again. Left of where you went into the save room there is a red boss door. Yoko gives you the [Magic Seal 1] so that you can unseal the door (all boss doors are sealed, and you need the correct seal to open them) and kill the boss inside. This seal looks just like the letter 'V'. Once you've killed off a boss, you need to draw the seal that you used to open the boss door. In this case, it's very easy to draw the seal, since it's just a 'V'. If you fail at drawing the seal quickly, or draw it wrong, the boss gets some HP back, and you'll have to attack it again, until you can draw the seal again. So, head inside the boss door now, and prepare for the first boss battle. +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ | Boss Battle - Flying Armor - Boss Battle | +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ | | | My Level: 4 | | Recommended Souls: Warg, Skeleton | | | | - General Information: Flying Armor is pretty easy to defeat. Use | | your Short Sword, and a bullet type soul like Warg of Skeleton. | | It's safest to attack him just after he's done with pulling off | | one of the moves listed below, but if you want to kill him faster, | | jump up and down, attacking him all the time instead. He doesn't | | really do a lot of damage to you after all. | | | | - Left & Right Blades: Flying Armor's two blades start pointing | | left and right, then they fly out of the screen. After a second or | | two, they'll be coming at you from both sides, so jump upwards. | | | | - Downstriking Blades: The two blades start pointing downwards, then | | they crash into the ground. Look at where the blades are pointing, | | and run away from that spot. | | | | - Spinning Blades: Once you see the two blades start spinning around | | Flying Armor himself, run away as quickly as you can, since he will | | come flying towards you. Watch out so that the two spinning blades | | don't cut you to death. Just run away, simply put. | | | +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ Once you've finished Flying Armor off, you will get the [Flying Armor] soul, which is a Guardian soul that lets you reduce falling speed. It's useful for floating through the air, and landing on ledges you couldn't reach earlier. There is also an orange orb dropped by each boss in the game. Grabbing it will result in you restoring all of your HP & MP, so make sure to take it. Yoko says she'll be fine now, so just leave her, and head left from the boss room. =============================================================================== After Getting The Flying Armor Soul [wa03] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Claymore.......................[ ] $1000..........................[ ] | | Spear..........................[ ] $2000..........................[ ] | | Mace...........................[ ] Corn Soup......................[ ] | | $1000..........................[ ] Cape...........................[ ] | | Castle Map 1...................[ ] Potion.........................[ ] | | UMA News 1-1...................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o Now that you're in the room left of where you killed the Flying Armor boss, you will see a ledge with a weapon ontop of it. Jump into the air, and when you're as far above the ground as possible with a normal jump, activate the Flying Armor soul and float left onto the ledge to get the [Claymore], which is a slow but powerful sword. Continue left into the next area, which is outside, with lots of platforms, and a single car at the very bottom, below the platforms. First, grab the [Spear] from the platform in the upper left corner. There is a path leading left here in the upper left corner, but it's blocked right now, so just ignore it for now, and drop down to the middle left end of the area. Kill the Armor Knight that's patrolling here, and head inside the door he was guarding to find an Ouija Table enemy and a [Mace]. Nice! Drop down left of the mace to find [$1000], guarded by a slow Zombie. After grabbing the money and slaying the Zombie, go left to find another save room. Run outside to the area with the car and the platforms again, after saving your progress. This time, drop down to the bottom, where the car is, and go into the door left of the car to find Yoko, inside a room she found. She's set up a service which works like this: You give Yoko your souls, and she fuses them with one of your weapons. After doing so, the weapon gets replaced with a new, often better weapon. The downside is that your old weapon, along with the soul you fused it with, both vanish for good. So, never fuse weapons or souls you don't want to lose. Remember that there is no way for Yoko to bring back the things you've already given her. This process is, for your information, called 'Weapon Synthesis'. I won't be telling you to go and fuse your souls with weapons in the main walkthrough, just to make that clear. Go outside again, and this time head right from the car to find Hammer's shop. This one is pretty cool! I recommend buying the following stuff from Hammer's shop now: [Castle Map 1] & [UMA News 1-1]. A weapon wouldn't be dumb either. The Rapier is pretty good, if you like quick swords. Also note that you don't really have to buy the map or the newsletter, but they're nice to have. Buying maps makes it easier to navigate through the game by looking at the upper screen on your Nintendo DS, and the newsletter gives you hints about a secret monster. This monster is mentioned later in the walkthrough. Once you're done shopping, go outside o---------- Secret Item ----------o again and head inside the door in the | | middle right end. In the middle right end there is a [Potion] waiting for you. Jump to the upper left end, jump over the gap up here using the Flying Armor soul, and look at the poster of Celia at the other side. Laugh at her if you want to, then go right into the door close to the poster. There are some Student Witches and Zombies in this room, but nothing of real importance. Run through the room, and exit in the upper right end. Run past all the candles in the stone corridor, until you see a gate, with water on the other side. Attack the switch to open the gate and drain the water. At the other side of the gate, you'll notice that this is just below the castle entrance, where Julius made that big jump before. Open the red-gloving level door below the castle entrance to find the next level. This one is named 'The Wizardry Lab', and has nice music playing in the background. Really good music, in fact. =============================================================================== The Wizardry Lab [wa04] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Mind Up........................[ ] Scarf..........................[ ] | | Blunt Sword....................[ ] Balore.........................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o There are some Ghosts spawning in the air above you, and there's a passage leading further right. Ignore this passage for now, since you don't have the soul required to break the ice blocks in there, or the soul that lets you jump high enough to pass the blockades in there. So, drop downwards instead, and grab the [Mind Up] potion close to the passage leading left. Now head into that passage to find a save room. Save your progress, and run back outside of the save room. Now, head into the passage directly right of the save room. Kill off some Slimes and a Bomber Armor, then grab the [Blunt Sword] from the upper right corner of the room. Drop down to the very bottom of the room to find a chest full of coins. Beware though, as it's guarded by a Student Witch, Bomber Armor and an Axe Armor. After taking the coins, go back, and drop further downwards from the save room entrance, all the way to the bottom. Once there, head left, into a new room filled with Skeletons and a Skeleton Archer. Kill all of the Skeletons, drop down, then make your way over to the passage in the upper left end of the room, after killing some Armors and a Student Witch. You'll end up in another room where ghosts spawn in the air. Drop down to the very bottom and head left to find a nice [Scarf] that you should equip. Go back to the room with the spawning ghosts, and this time, head into the passage that's leading right, just above the passage you walked into to get the Scarf. You will end up in a square-formed room with a Manticore, a Slime and a couple of Slaughterers. Kill them all off, and explore the whole room, just for map completion's sake. Do not head through the passage in the upper right end. Instead, drop down from the platform that can be found in the lower right end of the room, close to the Manticore enemy. Slay the Golem enemy down here, by attacking from the platform above it, then exit right. In the room right of where you killed the Golem, drop down to the bottom, and head right. Celia is waiting for Soma in here, and she's brought two underlings with her. They're both men, and their named are Dario & Dmitrii. Both of them are candidates for becoming the new Dark Lord, but they're not friends at all. All of them leave now. Go to the right end of the room, into the door there, and then drop down to find a save room and a boss door. Save your game, and head inside the boss door. +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ | Boss Battle - Balore - Boss Battle | +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+ | | | My Level: 6 | | Recommended Souls: Warg, Skeleton | | | | - General Info: Balore is a huge boss with one big fist. You'll need to use this soul to progress in the part of the game that the next section of the walkthrough leads you through. Go back to the previous save room and save your game now. =============================================================================== Balore is Dead [wa05] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Castle Map 2...................[ ] UMA News 2-1...................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o Since Balore is dead, we can continue making progress. From the save room close to Balore's boss room, backtrack upwards until you reach the entrance to the room where you fought the first Golem in The Wizardry Lab (not the room where you met Celia and her mates, another Golem has spawned there now). Instead of heading into that Golem room, jump upwards instead this time. Head into the passage leading right, just above the entrance to the Golem room, and kill the Slaughterers, Creatures and Skeletons. You'll end up having to return when reaching a locked gate guarded by a Creature, but at least we got come map completion. It wasn't good for nothing, you see, that we went here. Now, do you remember the room where you dropped down from a platform, in order to reach the room with the first Golem? Go there, and exit the room in the upper right end. There's lots of Skeletons in here. Kill them off and jump upwards. Just above you there are two passages. One leading left, and one right. Go into the left one first, and examine the whole room. There's a good-for-nothing picture of a face with moving eyes, and some Manticores. After exploring that room, head into the passage leading right to find a warp room. Warp rooms are great, since you can use them to transport to the other warp points you've found. It's free! Try it out -- there is one other warp point you can transport to right away. It's located in The Lost Village, just above Yoko & Hammer's stores, in the room that was blocked earlier, in the upper left corner of the area with the single car at the bottom. So, warp there, and go see Hammer again. Buy [Castle Map 2] from Hammer, since he has that item now, and also buy [UMA News 2-1] as well, if you want to. It's quite fun to read those newspapers, even though they're not very long or anything. I won't force you to buy anything else, but the Ring Mail armor is pretty good, and Hammer sells it. If you feel like you can go and see Yoko as well, for some random chatter. Save your game in the save room above Yoko's room, then warp back to the Wizardry Lab again, once you're ready for more action. Head outside the warp room once you're there, and jump to the top, then exit right into a square-formed room full off Slaughterers and a Student Witch. Exit this room in the upper right end to find a room with a platform, and lots of ice blocks in the ceiling. Jump onto the platform, make sure to crouch once on it. The platform starts moving. Now, you will have to touch all the ice blocks in the ceiling, once the moving platform gets close to them. At the end of all the ice blocks, there is a blockade, but it can be avoided if you're still crouching. Now, hope down from the platform and exit in the right end of the room. There is a red level door in front of you. Head inside to reach another level - Garden of Madness. =============================================================================== Garden of Madness [wa06] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Une............................[ ] Fleuret........................[ ] | | Mandragora.....................[ ] Doppelganger...................[ ] | | Magic Seal 2...................[ ] Three 7s.......................[ ] | | Breastplate....................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o This is a stairway guarded by Skelerangs and Une enemies. They're both easy to kill, if you're fast. Go upwards and head into the first passage leading left to find a save room. Save, go outside again, then kill the Une enemies until their soul drops. That's right, I kind of command you to grind for the [Une] soul, until you get it, since it's very useful in the upcoming boss battle against Dmitrii. So, outside of the save room again, jump to the top and go right to find a room filled with Mandragora enemies. I recommend getting their soul as well, and this one is great for killing several enemies at once. You'll thank me later, as the [Mandragora] soul is really good when you want to kill several foes at once. So, grind until you have it. As you can see, right of the Mandragoras there is a passage covered in water. You can't walk in water yet, so go back left to the previous room with the Skelerang and Une enemies, the exit in the upper left corner this time. Slay the Treant enemy, and grab [Magic Seal 2] from the ground, before jumping upwards on the platforms close to the seal. In the room above the platform, you'll be greeted by a Une on your right side and a passage on your left. Head into the passage to find a warp point. Activate it, then go back to the Une you saw. Jump to the top, above it, to find a new, huge room. There's several small stone platforms above you, and on one of them, there is a [Breastplate]. Now, to get a little map completion again, head directly right, and go into the door in the lower right end of the room with the Breastplate. You'll see a boss door and a Mollusca enemy (attack its eyes to kill it), but you can't continue into the boss room, since you need another magic seal for that. So, go back outside to the area where you got the Breastplate, and this time, exit in the lower left end, where there is a level door. ------------------------------------------------ + Demon Guest House - Opening the Castle Gates + ------------------------------------------------ We won't be going through anything close to the whole level yet, so the Demon Guest House does not get its own section just yet. So, start running left, killing off the Skeletons and the Peeping Eye. Exit in the right end to find a room with Axe Armors in. Kill them off, and exit in the left end, where there is another level door leading back to The Lost Village, where the real castle entrance is. Head into that level door, then run left through a snowy area with a Warg, and exit left. You'll find a switch. Step on it to lower the castle bridge. Now, you can walk in and out from the castle as you wish. Nice, yes? With the castle gates opened, head back to the Garden of Madness - the room with all the small stone platforms, where you got a Breastplate. Exit in the upper right end, above the passage that leads to a boss door. Jump to the top of the platforms in here, and exit left. Keep on walking left, kill the two blue Rycuda enemies, and drop down below them. Fight the Catoblepas. Behind it there is a chest with coins in, and a [Fleuret] sword. Go back right to the previous room, and this time, head right to find another huge room, similar to the one where you found the Breastplate. Slaughter the Skeleton Ape that greets you by throwing a barrel on you, after slashing the barrel to bits. Then, jump over the gap just right of the Ape to find another platform. This is where you'll find the [Doppelganger] soul. With this soul in your inventory, you can equip two different sets of souls & equipment, and change between these two sets by pressing the X button on your Nintendo DS, during gameplay. Try it out - go to the Equipment screen from the main menu, and press the X button to equip two different sets. Once you're familiar with the doppelganger, drop down to the bottom of the room, and slay the enemies there for some experience points, and souls, if you're lucky. The enemies here are: Catoblepas, Skeleton Farmer, Mandragora & Yorick. There is a chest on a ledge in the lower right end, but you can't get up there yet. So, exit in the upper right end, but watch out for the Skeleton Ape there. Hitting them is pretty hard, but can be done by launching a Warg against them. That trick works, pretty much always. In the lower right end of the room there is a save point, so save your game there. There is a sword on a ledge in the upper left corner, but you need a soul before you can get up there. So, exit in the upper right corner instead. Slay all the Ghouls and the Witch in this corridor, and exit in the right end of it. The next room has lots of Ghost Dancers and some Amalaric Snipers. I really recommend grinding for the [Ghost Dancer] soul, since it raises your luck, making it easier to get other souls later on, when grinding for them. Once you have the Ghost Dancer soul, head into the entrance in the left end, just below where you entered the room. There is a warp point here, so warp back to The Lost Village and save. Then, warp back and go into the room with all the Ghost Dancers and Snipers again. This time, make your way up to the upper part of the room. In the upper right end, there is a [Potion], so use your Flying Armor to float over the gap and get it. Afterwards, exit in the upper left end. There is a huge Great Armor guarding this corridor. Use a bullet soul to slay it, then slay the one behind it as well, before exiting in the left end. The next room has a Valkyrie in it, but nothing else. Jump upwards using the platforms left of the Valkyrie. You'll find some Ghosts and a Witch in this room, and a moving platform as well. There is some kind of item in the upper left end above the platform, but you can't get it yet. So, exit in the upper right end. Now you're in a stairway. At the top there are two passages and at the bottom, a red boss door. Go to the top left passage to find a save room to save in, then drop down, opening the boss door. After the conversation, head left into the next room, a huge place filled with Liliths, Skelerangs and Ghost Dancers. Drop down to the middle right end to find a save room. Save your game there right away. Now, if you want some optional items, take a look at the extra box below, then, when you're done collecting those optional items, exit in the middle left end of the room with the Liliths, Skelerangs and Ghost Dancers, since there's a passage there. o------------------------------ Secret Items -------------------------------o | | | Drop down to the bottom right end of the room with all the Liliths, | | Skelerangs and Ghost Dancers to find a small room with a bag | | containing [$1000] inside. There's a couple of Killer Dolls in the stairway in the upper left end, so kill those and jump to the top where there is a passage. Go in there to meet a Killer Clown. I really recommend you keep on grinding to get the [Killer Clown] soul, since that is a very fast bullet type soul I'm sure you'll like. Now jump up and go left from the Killer Clown to find a room with a fun, but useless Piano. Exit the piano room in the left end to find a place with LOTS of Bone Pillar enemies. Use your Mandragora soul to kill off a few of the Bone pillars at the bottom, then double-jump up on the head of the Bone Pillars above. Jump left and land on the head of another row of Bone Pillars. There's a passage above you up here, so jump up there to find a room with lots of ice blocks. Touch the lower screen on your Nintendo DS to break some ice blocks, making a path of ice that you can walk on to the very top. On the top, there are two items, the [UMA News 2-4] on the right side, and the [War Fatigues] on the left side. Consider equipping the fatigues, after looking at the stats of it. Now drop back down into the room with all the Bone Pillars and head right into the piano room again. Exit the piano room in the right end, then head further right, into a passage you haven't walked into before now. Watch out for the Buer that comes rolling towards you in this room, then slay the Lilith at the bottom. In the bottom right end there is a room with two Killer Dolls and some kind of potion that's out of reach from where you're standing now. So, in the room with the Bauer & Lilith again, exit in the upper right end this time around. Drop down into the pit on the floor to get the [High Potion] you saw in the room with the Killer Dolls, then jump up again, all the way to the top. There's two passages here, but the one leading right requires you to have a Puppet Master soul, which you haven't got yet. Go left then, since the game forces you to do so. Nyehehe. Seriously though, it's not a big deal, since the right passage just leads back to one of those huge rooms with Liliths & Ghost Dancers. So, after going through the left passage you will meet a Killer Clown. Slay him and go straight left for a warp point. Use it to warp back to The Lost Village. Once there, go and buy [UMA News 3-1] from Hammer's shady store, if you're into trivial reading. Now warp back to the Demon Guest house, which is where you came from a moment ago. Above the Killer Clown you killed earlier there is a Devil and two passages. They both lead to the same room, but make sure to explore both rooms. Anyway, once you've explored both rooms, and have arrived in the next one, at the top of them, slay the monsters in here. There's Killer Clowns, a Quetzalcoatl and a rolling Buer, to mention a few. Then, enter the passage in the upper left corner to finally find [Magic Seal 3], guarded by a Killer Doll. Go back to the previous room, and this time enter the passage in the upper right end to find [UMA News 2-2]. Back to the previous room, and exit by jumping upwards on the platforms close to where you entered the UMA News room. There's a save room and a boss door up here, so save, then open the boss door. +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+-----+ | Boss Battle - Puppet Master - Boss Battle | +----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+----+-----+ | | | My Level: 22 | | Recommended Souls: Killer Clown, Mandragora | | | | - General Information: The Puppet Master is a huge creature in the | | background. You will however be able to reach the [Kotetsu] sword in the right end, by double- jumping and throwing a puppet up on the ledge where it can be found. Do it, then drop down one floor to find [UMA News 3-2] in the right end. Right of the Newspaper there is a gap. Double-jump. use Flying Armor and throw a puppet doll to the ledge in the right end to find a [High Potion]. Drop down to the very bottom now and step on the switch that's in the corridor down here. This opens a door that leads back to the warp point in The Dark Chapel. Go right from the switch to reach The Condemned Tower, which is a brand new level. Good work on getting here. Just right of here, you will meet Julius, who is standing close to some kind of portal. Julius says he can't open the portal just yet. Go back left to where you found the Mind Up, and jump upwards using the nearby platform. At the top you will find a passage leading left, and a [Silver Stud]. Now, we'll start climbing the tower for real, so you'd better keep up with me! Head left into the passage, slay the Disc Armor, and exit left. There's a worthless statue at the bottom here. Jump upwards, kill the Disc Armor, and head into the passage leading right at the top. Slay the lonesome Fleaman, exit right. Kill a Draghignazzo, jump to the top, exit left. There's two Fleamen in here, so slay both of them, and exit left. The next area has a Skeleton Ape that you need to kill, then go to the top where a Great Axe Armor is residing. I recommend throwing some Mandragoras at him before he manages to swing his giant axe weapon towards you. Above him, you will find the [Estoc]. Take it, then go right from the Great Axe Armor to find a passage. Kill the Werewolf, jump to the top, then go left. Watch out for the Buer wheel that is rolling in here, and exit left. Once again, jump upwards to find an elevation where another Buer is rolling. Break the Buer and continue upwards. There is a passage leading left. Go in there to find a blue, locked gate. You need a special key to open this one, so ignore it for now. Jump to the very top of the area with the Buer to find another Buer guarding [UMA News 2-3]. Go right from the newspaper, slay the Great Axe Armor, go right again, slay two Fleamen, jump to the top, and go right to find a save room. Just left of the save room, there is a boss door. Once there, jump left and use the Flying Armor Soul to get to the left end of the boss room, since the floor is now gone. The left side has a passage, so head in there right away to find the [Tower Key]. Left of the key is a warp room. There isn't anything new in Hammer's shop or anything right now, so just go back right from the warp point and drop down to the passage leading left in the boss room. This one is just below the passage that lead to the warp room, and you've been there before; the blue gate that was locked earlier is in here. Now that you have the Tower Key you can open the blue gate, so do that and enter the red level door on the other side, which leads to the level 'Cursed Clock Tower'. =============================================================================== Cursed Clock Tower [wa12] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Shaman Ring....................[ ] Magic Seal 4...................[ ] | | Army Jacket....................[ ] UMA News 3-3...................[ ] | | handgun........................[ ] Zephyr.........................[ ] | | Scale Mail.....................[ ] Flying Humanoid................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o - NOTE: The Cursed Clock Tower is swarming with Medusa Head enemies. Jump on the gears, and exit left of all the spikes. Watch out for the yellow Medusa heads in here, as they will turn you into stone if you come close to them. Enter the passage at the top, and ignore the one at the bottom for now. Slay the Imp, a Harpy and a Catoblepas, exit in the left end. Now you will be in another room with Medusa Heads, and at the bottom there is a little water. Exit in the lower left end to find a small room with a nice, warm & green [Army Jacket]. Take it, then return to the room left of where you jumped on some circle-formed clock gears to avoid the spikes on the floor. Drop to the bottom of that room and go left to find another area with water at the bottom. Exit left to find a level door leading back to Garden of Madness. There is a gap here, and a passage just left of the gap. Go inside the passage and step on the switch on the floor to open a gate. Now you can easily travel between Garden of Madness and Cursed Clock Tower, through the newly opened gate. Go back right from the gate room and drop down into the gap, and drop down again to find a [Handgun] above a ceiling you've seen earlier, but haven't been able to reach. Look at your map, and examine any nearby place that is still black, then return all the way back to the room with the '573' statue in the Cursed Clock Tower. What are you waiting for? Go there now! This time, exit in the upper left end, above the statue. In front of you there are some spikes in the ceiling and some moving blocks below the spikes. As you can see, all the blocks except the third one in this row has blood on them. Run onto the third block, crouch and wait until the blocks start moving downwards again, then run left to the next row of blocks. Step onto the first non-bloody block, run left and slide onto the final, non- bloody block, then exit the room in the left end. Drop down to the bottom of the next room to find a save room. Save, go back outside and follow one of the two moving platforms to the very top. Exit in the top right end of the room. This is a pretty scary place, with several spinning blades on the wall. If running past them gets too tough, use your Puppet Master soul. Start by running right past the two first blades. Make sure you time your sprint, so you don't run into a blade. The third blade spins really slow, so time your movements, and slide when you're close to passing it, to avoid being hit in the head. Fourth and fifth blades are both easy to avoid. Now, you are in the right end of the room, and can jump up to the ledge that the blades are hanging on. Do that and run left past the last three blades. You'll see a hole in the ceiling now, so jump up there right away. There are more circle-formed clock gears above you in here. But before jumping onto them, go into the passage in the lower right corner to find a mirror and a [Scale Mail]. Back in the room with the circle-formed gears, jump to the top and exit in the upper right end to find a small room with a Bugbear and [Magic Seal 4]. Go right to find a room with lots of Medusa Heads. At the bottom of the room you will find a paper - [UMA News 3-3], so take that, then jump to the top and exit left. This soul lets you stop time, which is useful for halting enemy movements, and to get access to one of the upcoming levels, which requires you to stop time. Head left out of the boss room after saving, to find a warp point and a gap. Drop down into the gap. You'll arrive left of the room with the lonesome clock gear. There's a switch at the bottom that you need to step on. When you do, the wall of the clock gear room will blow up, making it faster to travel later on. It's possible to exit left of the switch, but doing so is pointless now, since you'll need to Bat Company soul to make any further progress that way. You'll get that soul after another boss battle, later in the game, and I will of course remind you of returning here when that time comes. I'm so reliable ^__^ Now warp to the warp point in The Dark Chapel. Drop down to the bottom of the room with all the Ghost Dancers and head left past the Creature. Drop down again and head left. You will see three Bone Pillar enemies. Go into the passage just right of them, and use the Puppet Master to get through the wall with the hole in. Go back and save your game now, before exiting the boss room in the upper right end, above Rahab's huge pool of water. There's a Decarabia wheel rolling around in the next room, and some Fish Heads at the bottom. Fish heads are similar to Bone Pillars, and Decarabias are similar to Buer wheels, so they're not really enemies you don't know anything about from before - Cheap! Kill the Mimic chest in the right end of the room, then drop down to the next room. Slay the two Fish Heads at the start, drop straight down from them to find a bag with [$2000] in, then swim up to the upper left end, past all the Needles and the Killer Fish, to find a [Chain Mail]. After grabbing the chain mail, make your way to the lower right end of the room. You will find a [High Mind Up] potion on your way there. The lower right end has a [Rusty Food Tin] that you should pick up, but not use! Now you can exit in the lower left end of the room, after exploring it completely, like you've just done. Watch out for the Needles in the water in the next room. Just attack them to break them, then exit in the left end. The next room is where you will meet your first Procel enemies. They're water creatures that can merge into the water and vanish right before your eyes. They're guarding the area along with some Mermen and Killer Fish. Ranged attacks are recommended. The left part of the room is underwater, and has some Mermen and Killer Fish in it. Run further left and exit the room. The next room is pretty big and there's a little water at the bottom. Drop down to the lower right corner to find [$2000]. Still at the bottom, head directly left until you find a warp point. Somme Bone Arks are being carried around in this room. Make sure to jump just after destroying the Ark themselves, as the servants carrying them will run at you once their boss dies. In the right end, past the Bone Arks, there is a save room and a passage leading upwards. Save, and go upwards to find [UMA News 1-3] on a ledge, above the save room entrance. Head left from the newspaper, slay the Mermen and jump upwards, out of the room, into the hole in the ceiling here. A Frozen Shade is flying just right of where you come into the next room. Kill her, then run up the stairs above her to find a Ukoback and a level door. Head inside the level door to arrive at a location you haven't seen before - in The Garden of Madness. There's some stairs above you with a passage leading right. Head inside there to find a Treant guarding a [Small Sword]. Grab the sword, head back outside to the stairs, and go to the top of them. There shouldn't be any nearby rooms you haven't been in here in The Garden of Madness now, but if there is any unexplored ones on your map, visit them now. Once done, backtrack to the warp room in Subterranean Hell. There's a hole in the ground just outside of the warp room. Drop down into that hole. Go straight left to find a [Mushroom], then drop down to the bottom, where some Mermen are walking around, and exit in the lower left corner. You'll find yourself in a tall room guarded by Frozen Shades and an Ukoback. Go to the bottom and head right for a save room, then go left from the save room to find another [Mushroom] in a huge room. Head back right after grabbing the mushroom, and jump to the top. Exit left. Now you're back in the huge room, but higher up than where you got the tasty mushroom. Before doing anything else, examine this whole room for some map completion. The only parts of the room you can't reach is the very top, where a waterfall is starting. You'll find two [Mushrooms] and an [Amanita] in the middle right end of the room while exploring. Once done, drop down to the very bottom. If you want some optional stuff, go left at the bottom and read the paragraph below the one you're reading right now. Let me warn you however: it takes a lot of time, and is completely optional. Once done with that, exit in the lower right corner instead. Access the pause menu and | | turn your Rahab soul off (this makes you able to float in the water, | | above the spikes). Float left until you hit a wall. Turn Rahab on again, | | and sink down. There's a small safe spot you can stand on here. Now, | | equip the Skeleton Ape soul so that you get the ability to throw | | further, then throw a Puppet to the other side of the wall, using the | | Puppet Master Soul. At the other side of the wall, turn Rahab back off | | to float further left. Head inside the passage in the absolute left end | | of the area, after passing all of the spikes. | | | | Drop into the water and kill the Homunculus enemies in here. You'll find | | a [Serenity Robe] in the middle of the room, above the water. Drop into | | the water again, and exit left. Kill two larvas, exit left again. | | Drop into the water, grab the [Super Potion] in the lower right end. | | Grab the [Bloody Stud] in the lower left corner, then exit in the upper | | left end. You'll find a room with lots of ghosts. We'll be coming back | | here in a moment. For now, continue left to find a statue with the | | numbers '666' engraved on it. Naturally, you don't have the correct | | gold value, so return to the room with all the ghosts. | | | | The numbers on the map are | | indicating where you +---------------------------+ | | should jump first (1) and | (GHOST ROOM) | | | last (5) in order to reach | | | the exit in the upper left <- Top Exit | | | | | end of the Ghost Room. 5 | | | | | Good luck! Once you've got +-----------+ +------------+ | | to the next room, kill the | | | | Iron Golem by throwing a | 4______ | | | puppet to its back, and | | | | attacking it from there. | ______ | | | Then, left of the Golem, | __3___ | | | enter the level door. |____ _2_ | | | | | | | | ------------------------- | |__________________| | | Back in Lost Village |__1__| | | | ------------------------- | | | <- Entrance | | | | | | | Now you're back in The Lost | | | | Village, in a tall room. Go | | | | to the top by jumping and | | | | throwing puppets. Grab the +----- Bottom Exit ---------+ | | [Neck Warmer] close to the | | top, and step on the switch | | here to blow the ceiling to | | bits. Above the newly blown | | up hole, you will find | | the area in The Lost Village, | | where there's two cars! | | | | Drop back down into the tall room. In the middle left of the room you | | can break the wall to find a room filled with Axe Armors and [Caviar]. | | Exit left to find another dynamite switch. Blow the ceiling to make a | | hole leading up to Yoko & Hammer's shops! Now, return to the previous | | tall room again, where you blew the first passage leading to the two | | cars open. There's a level door in there, you see. | | | | Below the switch you used to blow the ceiling with, as you have likely | | noticed already there is a level door. Head inside and open the gate in | | there to make it easier to travel between The Lost Village and The | | Wizardry Lab. You will also find [UMA News 4] close to this gate. | | Now, we're soon done. Gather up money so that your coin value ends with | | '666' now, and return back to the statue. Behind it, grab the [Gold Ring].| | Finally, that's it. No more optional stuff for now! | | | | If you've forgotten where we left the main walkthrough, it was in | | Subterranean Hell, in the room with the waterfall. You were told to | | continue out of that room in the bottom right corner, to find a | | level door. So, go there and find the level door. See you in | | The Silenced Ruins. | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o =============================================================================== Making Some Noise in The Silenced Ruins [wa14] =============================================================================== o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o | | | I T E M C H E C K L I S T | | | | Mana Prism.....................[ ] Bat Company....................[ ] | | Rare Ring......................[ ] | | | o---------------------------------------------------------------------------o When you enter the ruins, a cannon suddenly fires a shot towards the wall in front of you, but then, time stops. Use your Zephyr soul to make time start ticking again. The wall breaks, and you can proceed. The first room has some Bats, Ghouls and a Peeping Eye, but nothing else. Exit in the right end. In the next room, there is a broken stairway guarded by many kinds of Skeletons. In the middle of the stairway there is a door leading right. Jump into the door, kill the Gorgon and its Ghoul mates, and exit right again. Jump upwards on the yellow platforms in the next room, kill a Larva near the chair up here, then make your way to the top where there's two passages. Take the right one first to find a mirror and a [Mana Prism], then take the right one to find a level door leading straight back to Hell. Oh, pardon, I mean Subterranean Hell. Just step on the switch on the ground to unlock a gate you've seen earlier, while traveling through Subterranean Hell. Now you can easily go between these two levels later on, without spending close to nine hours, like last time. Hehehe ~ After opening the gate by stepping on o---------- Secret Item ------------o
