Question for The Urbz : Sims in the City

I'm at the bayou and I know where to find the light but how do I get over where the venus fly trap thingy is? I tried using the hover board but that didn't work. And I saw something behind the venus fly trap to the left of the one with the light but it's not there anymore. Is that important?

You have to sprint past those nasty things, just go as fast as you can
