You just wrap the broken bit of the animal's body in a bandage which you can get from the shop on your computer. And keep the animal's love rater up!!

If anyone needs to know how to find your pet when you accidentally store it, you can retrieve it by going to your inventory and it should say your pets name. (It's an animal with a question mark above it's head in a box). Hope this helps you guys
