Where do you get the materials to make the spade?
I have been searching the crate everyday in the game searching and searching and I am lost when it comes to finding the materials. I need someone's help!

You don't find them. You are given them by Ms Weeder, the gardener as reward for helping her get rid of the bugs on her plants:
Try going to the gardener and clicking "Offer Help". You will then need to go to Dr Feelgood to "Ask for Help." You will give her a set of bugs (that you may already have) and then a set of fish (that you may already have), and in return she will give you a potion that you deliver to Ms. Weeder.
