Wheat and other Grains????

I am at 54% on collections. I found the first rice patch closest to the bridge that you build, but I can't locate any other rice patches. I don't see it in the items to trade with the Gardner. Also, I don't see the wheat to grow. How do we collect these or trade for these? I feel like I am missing something.

You have to get all of the map then you will be able to trade with the gardener. That was how I did it.
