How do I find the 1st and 2nd metal pole?? Please Help!!

Hey,
I have the Sims 2 Castaway on DS.
I am about 58% through the game and I need to find the metal poles for the Chef's fire and mine. I hvae read through most of the other questions similar to mine, and it seems as if people have found them by digging at certain places, but when I try, I just find crystals or seeds or empty cans etc. How do I find them??
Also, how do I find all these logs that I need (for the flag pole,a new shelter etc.)?? I can't find, in my crafting station, the template for the flag pole, and other people have said hat she gives it to you or something, when he onl gave me the handle for an axe or something.

Please help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, to get the secong pole you must complete all the sudents task (Suzy McDress). Ok, to get the log you need to cut down a coconut tree with the axe. To get the axe, go to your crating station, first make the head of the axe and then peice the axe together at the crafting station (you will have a template).
REMEMBER: you can not get the second pole unless you complete all the students tasks! Smile Hope I helped! X Courtney

Just help out the other people on the island and they will give you items like the shovel and stuff
Well she gave you the handle so uyou have to make the other part. It should appear if you just help the others.
PS, get some banana seeds from mrs weeder and plant them, the when there grown chop them down( you can't chop the 1 down next to mrs weeders bed), or cut down the coconut tree's , just cut down trees
