Where do you get yams I realy need help because I can't help the gardner or the docter after two tasks it only says examine,talk or give gift what do I do

I believe the plant is located north from the crafting log. Don't remember if I had to water those plants there or not. If you have to water them, just check back in a couple days. I hope I am remembering correctly

They are not near the crafting log they are the place right before you go into the cave with the pirate skelton.
