I am going crazy!
For some reason that I cannot understand my fishing pole does not work!
I have read the little booklet that comes with the game and all it says is to approach the ocean or other body of water and the menu will come up and to select pole fishing. The only thing that is showing up on the menu is spear fishing.
Yes, I have actually made the fishing pole,I have looked in the object templates menu and the pole is checked off, I also checked in the collections menu under tools and it is there as well.
Please someone tell me what I am doing wrong! Why can't I use my fishing pole?

Have you tried going on the rock in the ocean near the shipwreck? There's a spot on it that says that it would be a good fishing spot, i'm thinking you might need to climb it before you can fisha though i haven't gotten that far yet. I think there was a similar spot by where you land the canoe on the third island...i don't remember for sure where I saw it. If clicking on the rock doesn't work, try clicking on your sim the way you would to eat, change clothes, or dig.

Btw...i'm still trying to get the fishing pole myself. How did you get it?

The Fishing pole requires two stalks of bamboo, a spool of thread, and nails.
Craft the fishing pole at the craft table.
Thanks for your hint about the rock at the dive area in the ocean.
