Question for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

HELP:
First Question- I have gone through alot of the game and there are all these polls coming out of the ground and I can jump on them and it looks like I should be able to cross to the other side with this poll because there is another poll on the other side??? I don't know what to do with these polls? Please help!

Second Question- I have just gotten to the sun door with the sun key and it says to point all the statues to the door but we have only found two doors... And I think from previous answered questions there is a third door but I can't find the third door. We have found the ones on the left side of the door and the right side of the door. Please HeLp!?!?

Ok. 1st question: the poles that are coming out of the ground, they are for the grappling hook (which you get in the ice temple later on). Right now, the poles are comletely useless to you. So just ignore them for now.

Soz I can't really explain the second question very well, but yes there are 3 statues to open the door to the temple - west, east, and south. In order to reach the south statue, you must pass the east. The south statue is guarded by 2 fish warriors, or whatever their called.
