First, you talk to the Bob-Omb Buddy to open the cannon. Then you get in the cannon, and aim at the right-hand wall where the rotating platform is above. If you hit the corner in the right spot, the wall will break. Then you can either try to shoot there again to get the star, or drop down from above.

Get in a cannon and blast the walls that has the red coin in between them.

Open the cannon, then jump in it. Aim for the very corner closest to you near that black gravel slope. If you hit it in the very corner, it will explode to reveal a star. Get back in the cannon and shoot at the star to get it.
