I do not know. I think you have to rescue Luigi first to get through the secret wall which is where the Big Boo is.

Go to luigi`s painting BUT DON`T GO IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There should be a door(not a painting). It is the door to the roof.CAUTION:there is a big boo on the roof patio.
