Ok first you open the cannon, the little dude who opens the cannon is over the part where you get the red coins, and the cannon is on the ship so go there and once your inside the cannon you will see a rainbow circle. Blast through the middle and you will be on a pole. Slide down and be careful a bad guy will try to throw you off. The star is in the box.
