World 1 Castle

I can make it to the top of the castle however I don't have a clue how to defeat the "brick man". I could use some help. Thanks

The Whomp is a very easy creature to beat. All you have to do is stand right in front of it. About 2 seconds before it jumps,run away from the shadow. Once it's face-first on the ground,do a ground-pound. Do this process three times and you get the star. Hope this helps.

I have looked around and not been able to find how to do the ground pound. I can get to the top where Whomp is and can get him to fall face down and get out of the way. However, I can't seem to ground-pound him. I am using Yoshi should I change to Mario I saw his hat on a ledge back a ways and tried with him also but no luck.
