To get Metagross in Platinum follow these steps:
1) After you get the National Dex, the Poke Radar, and have beaten the game, talk to Dawn's sister.
2) She will say something like, "There is a bunch of Slakoth in Eterna Forest!" To get her to say Beldum (you can't actually catch Metagross) , just keep setting the clock to 23:59 and waiting one minute until she says your wanted Pokemon (Beldum) .
3. Go to the place that she said and run through grass until you find your wanted Pokemon (Beldum) .
4. Evolve it.
Congratulations! You now have Metagross!

Wait for the Pokemon swarm of beldum then catch it and level it up until it evolves

You can't you can get a beldum but you can't evolve it is too high leveled
