You are going through the same situation that I went through, and I was very lucky that I had a second, older, computer. What is happening is that the cord is so old, that the newer computers are not responding to the cord. I tried it on my Windows 7 laptop and it didn't work. BUT!, I tried it on my Family's Windows Vista and it worked. What I think happened is that on my laptop because the AR system was sorta "invented" when Windows made the Vista so the Vista will connect with the action replay, but the Windows 7 is newer and it won't. Duh, Duh, Duuuuuuuuuh...
I'll be crossing my fingers that you have an older computer!!!
