Feed it lots of Poffins and Berries and win lots of battles without it fainting. Winning contests seems to cheer them up, too.

You don't necessarily have to do all of that, but doing all of it makes them happier faster.

There are Berries that make a Pokemon happier. Using it in battles and contests (winning, of course) is good too. Soothe Bell- Increases Happiness quicker while using Pokemon in battle.

Feed the Pokemon Berries. The ones they like. Win Contests, and battles without the dieing.

Feed them Poffins and/or Berries. Also you can go to some places where you can make them love you more. Ex: Veilstone City [down and right of the GYM], and Resort Area [The place that askes you for lots of ribbons]

Give it a soothe bell and walk with it to make it happier
