Is the platinum pokedex the same as the daimond/pearl pokedex? If not how many extra Pokemon are in it?

No, the Pok�dex is not the same. The new Pok�dex contains all non legendary Pok�mon added with Diamond and Pearl and their evolution families. That takes the Pok�dex total from 151 to 210. Giratina is the only legendary not in the original Sinnoh Dex to be included in the new one.

Well in this pokedex it contains 210 most of which in the other games you get after manaphy and the elite four.

It's not the same. Ummmm... I think the Platinum Dex has 59 more Pokemon. And you need to see all of those in order to get the National Dex.
