When did this game come out? And where does it take place.(region, kanto, johto, hoeon, or sinnoh)?

Pokemon Platinum does not come out for a long time, so you will probably forget about the new Pokemon game soon enough. As a matter of fact, Pokemon Platinum is not even going to released in Japan until fall of this year. Which means that during one the month of September, or October, is when Pokemon Platinum will be released in Japan. As for the other countries such as the United States, Europe, and Australia, we will have to wait till late 2009 before the game hits stores. From all of the data that I have seen on the game so far, it will be worth it. Pokemon Platinum will take place in the Sinnoh Region, it is not a new game with new Pokemon, it is merely the third game in the Diamond and Pearl saga. You will have to stay in the Sinnoh Region, you cannot go to any other region.

Platinum is due to be released in Fall 2008 for Japan, and around Spring 2009 for the U.S. Other release dates have not yet been anounced.
Platinum Version is the companion to Diamond and Pearl, meaning that it will, like them, take place in the Sinnoh Region.

Really cause I heard different I heard that well yeah it will come out in spring 2009 but I researched it on wikipedia and I saw the Pokemon platinum map it takes place in all the regions and the battle frontier

The game doesn't come out for another few months. I've heard that you can go to other regions, but the main game takes place in the Sinnoh region.

It came out in Japan on Sept 13, 08. It will come out in the US in early 09, and in the UK in late spring 09.

Only been released in Japan. For United States and others besides Japan it will be Spring 2009. I am really thinking it might be April 12, 2009, this is not a confirmed date.
