Question for Pokemon Black

FLUTE QUESTION:

I can get the following Flute items from the Guy on Route 13:

- Blue Flute
- Yellow Flute
- Red Flute
- Black Flute
- White Flute

In the Generation 3, and 4 Games they helped in eliminating status Problems such as: Sleep, Confusion, Infatuation, etc.

But Why the Hell Can't I use them in the Generation 5 Games?
(why are they only meant as selling items?)

You can get the flutes from the guy on Route 13. He will give you a random item every day. If you want one of the flutes specifically, you can save it right before speaking with the man and restart the game (off and on, NOT delete) until you get what you are looking for.

I am not sure entirely why they cannot be used, but it might have something to do with the way the bag inventory is structured, or maybe Gamefreak/Nintendo didn't think they were necessary or useful anymore.

I already knew how to get them.

I just think it sucks that you cannot use them the same way as in the Previous Games.
because Personally, I found those Items EXTREMELY useful in status elimination.
