Do you mean Action Replay codes? If so what you need to is go out and buy a device called An Action Replay which you can find in places like Walmart and Gamestop. You need to make sure you get the right one for your DS. After that you can add codes. Just beware there are some codes that are bad and will mess up your game.

There are three ways of putting on cheats, one is using the action replay, another is when you have the R4 you could turn on cheats and another is going on certain websites to hack your game. But I must warn you that putting on to many cheat may freeze your game and cheats using AR (action replay) may mess up your game forever.
To turn on cheats using the R4, press the X button and turn the cheats on. After, if your R4 is like mine, press the X button again and it will show a list of cheats for you to turn on.
To use action replay, you first have to buy one at gamestop or maybe Ebay will do (walmart might also do). (Make sure the Action Replay is right for your DS.) Then you could just add codes I guess.
