How do you know that it'll work on black if it keeps on froze the game every time you put codes other than update the action replay?

Most likely the codes your putting in are no good. Either their Japanese codes or a code for some other part of the world other then your own. It could also be that you've just gotten some bad codes. You could ask for help in the Action Replay forum. Most likely someone there can tell you whats going wrong.

This is a common problem. You need to update your firmware to the version specified as one of the codes if you downloaded the codes for this game from Codejunkies. The updates can be downloaded off the internet, then drag the file to your code manager with your AR plugged in to PC and it'll update. After this, no more white screen.
