You expand the walking area the more times you go on walks. My oldest dog lucky has nearly got a screenful of stamina and can cover the neighbourhood just about.

Make sure that when you do go on walks that you go as far as possible. Even if that means walking up and down re-tracing your steps outiside your front door. I always keep going back and forth like this, only one square at a time until it won`t let me go anymore. Then you put the stylus on the back of the square and it will erase that little bit. As you are currently right outside the house, you can now do a diagonal entry to the front door and you`ve used up all the stamina possible. This way will get you walking further faster.
