I haven't played in about a month. I got a DS Lite because my DS wasn't working well. I played and it wouldn't let me take my dogs for contests or walks! It said your dog is tired and you can't do contests more than three times in a day. It was the first time I played in a month, and I didn't take them for a walk or contest that day.

You more then likely need to use your old DS. If that doesn't work, you have a glitched game and you need to just wait another day in your DS Light.
Yes that has happened to me tonnes of times thats because you didn't save the game and thats the reason why.
