At the begining screen, you presss a,b,x,y, and then L and R.
It'll ask you if you want to restart, and then you hit "Yes".

When you start the game and you can hear puppies barking, that's the moment to press x,y,r,l,a and b, then select yes to erase your game. Hope this helps a lot!
