Question for Nintendogs: Chihuahua and Friends

I have had this game for 2 weeks and I was wondering, do you have to get a certain amount of trainer points before you can unlock the keyboard and such. Also I usually see things in the discount shop and when I go again they aren't there.
Please answer ASAP

That happens to me too. The Items just appear at random.
