In world 1 you go to the tower. Then you go into the door by the green cannon and the spikes. Once you are in the door there is a space in the upper left hand corner jump into it. Once you are in there there should be a gold pipe,but don't go into it. Hit the air above you to get a extra life and coins. Jump on to the wall you just made. Go into shell dash and break the three bricks along the bottom. Stay in shell dash or restart it. Then break the three bricks that are blocking the red tube. Go into the red tube. Run to the left and you should see the red flag. Once you get it you unlock the cannon. I hope this helped.
