After the game is beat

Ok so I beat the game without even having to go through two of the worlds. I got through all of world 8 and rescued the princess but then it sent me back to world 1. I noticed the the big gold coins that I already got the first time around are blue and I am unable to get those again and there are a couple new things on the map as far as extras...does anyone know what the point of the 2nd go around in and what I am suppose to be accomplishing?

Well, after you beat the game, theres nothing to do but explore the worlds, your just exploring, not starting over.
And try finding the secret to go to world 4 and 6.

Guest answered:

If you havent already you should get all the star coins, and unlock all levels, mushroom houses, cannons, etc.
